3rd POV

After the death of Professor Anders, Vox Machina search around for anything that useful. But there were nothing, until Vex found something before she gather everyone to look.

Vex: Apparently Anders only valuable possession was in his mouth. However, I did find this.

Grog: Oh! Hey, is this one of them connect-a-dots?

Keyleth: Its a start chart, Grog. These symbols show the sky at a specific time and date. The solstice.

Percy: That's five days from now.

Keyleth: Why would they have this?

YN: Maybe it has something to do with the ziggurats. That must be why the Briarwoods wanted the book.

Keyleth: Oh, that's possible.

Vex: We need to signal Archie. Let him know that Cassandra is safe.

Keyleth smirks before heading towards the door.

Keyleth: I might have something for that.

She heads outside and the rest catches up to her while Grog carries Cassandra in a bridal style.

Keyleth: (Smiles.) I've always wanted to try this.

She uses wind magic to clear the sky and make the de Rolo crest with the clouds.

Vex: Kind of terrified. Kind of impressed.

YN: Its really beautiful.

This Keyleth smile and blush for a bit before they leave. Meanwhile with Scanlan

Scanlan POV

After giving a helluva show by burning down Vedmire's place, I'm doing my victory dance and singing through the town street.

Scanlan: 🎶 So sorry Vedmire, your plan just backfired 🎶

🎶 You got Scanlaned, you got Scanlaned 🎶

🎶 By lightning you got struck, by the baddest motherfucker 🎶

🎶 You got Scanlaned, you got Scanlaned!- ow!

I still felt some pain I got from Vedmire beat up. But in the end, he got fucked. I look up and saw the cloud symbolize the de Rolo crest above the sky.

Scanlan: (Grin.) Whoa, huh. Fuckin' A.

I ran to join with my friends, but suddenly I spotted two people are making out in the shadow which made me smirk.

Scanlan: Oh. (Smirk and chuckles.)

I approach towards them while they're still making out.

Scanlan: Oi! You fellas got room for third? I just got done being a big bad hero, and I'm down for a little ugly bumpin'.

They ignore me while they're still making out but I approach them.

Scanlan: Aw come on, I got enough magic below the belt to make ya feel young aga-

Suddenly, they turn around revealing a zombie eating a man alive while it growls.

I back up away but it approaches towards me. Soon I see more of them coming.

Scanlan: (Frighten.) There, everywhere? (Nervous chuckles.) Of course its zombies. Yeah. Because fuck me, that why.

Back with the rest of the Vox Machina, they're making their way to the resistance hideout while Percy supporting his sister to walk.

Percy: The rebels should be gathering. If they saw the signal.

Vex: Maybe we shouldn't have announced ourselves with such...flair.

Keyleth: Well, we wanted the people to know the resistance is still alive, right?

YN: Plus a flair is boring.

Suddenly Scanlan arrive and catching his breath for air. Grog fills him in on what he missed while he was gone, but notice that he's not listening.

Grog: (Confused.) Hey, are you even listening to me?

Scanlan: (Panting.) There's a hor... hor... there's a hor...

Vex: (Fold her arms.) Yeah, not really the time for one of your whorehouse stories.

Scanlan: (Panting.) No... no. A horde of undead!

They look behind Scanlan and sees the horde of zombies.

Vax: Oh! Horde. Got it.

YN: (Disappointed.) Oh so now there's fucken zombies lot!

Percy: You knew!?

YN: Uh, crazy bitch with necromancy magic, duh. she obviously has that kind of shit up in her sleeves.

Vax: Holy shit.

Percy shoots one of their head.

Vex: We may want to get out of here.

Vax kills couple of them.

Vax: Aren't these things suppose to be slow?

They all tackle him but YN uses his magic to push them away. Before YN could help him up, another one tackled him and pins him down as it tries to bite his face.

YN: I thought these supposed to be weak!

Suddenly Keyleth blows them away with wind magic before helping him up.

Grog: Come on let's move!

YN: Thanks Kiki.

They run from the zombies to find a better spot.

Scanlan: In case I wasn't clear before, the undead freak me out. I mean, why?

Right when he finished his sentence, a woman was pin down and being eaten alive by a zombie as she cries for help.

Woman: Help me!

Scanlan whimpers like a girl before the zombie was gonna get him until Cassandra grab it and throws it away. Grog clears a path for everyone.

Grog: Excuse us. Coming through!

Percy: Everyone, follow Grog!

YN: Does he even know where to go!?

Scanlan: Anywhere but here!

They ran through the alley but ends up with the horde blocking their path. Thankfully Keyleth uses her vines to block them.

Keyleth: More of them?

Scanlan: How many dead people are in your stupid town, Percy!?

The dead tries to break through Keyleth's vines.

Keyleth: Where'd they all come from?

Grog: Uh, the ground. That's where all dead people live.

They hear more zombies growling around, realizing that there may be a thousands of them. Suddenly one of the resistance call them and to follow her to the safe house. They follow her before the zombies break through the vines.

    Soon they made it to the safe house and get inside as Keyleth was the last and accidentally trip before YN offers her a hand which she accept. Soon Archie reveal himself with a lamp.

Archie: (Grin.) Thank the Dawnfather you made it.

Keyleth: Barely.

Archie: We saw your message in the sky. Percival, what's our next move?

Percy: You're asking me?

Archie: Well, we...I-I assumed since you're the rightful heir...

Percy: Titles don't matter anymore. You're the leader, Archibald.

Percy walks away leaving them depressed.

YN: (To Keyleth.) Thanks for saving me, I uh, might become a zombie meal of the day.

Keyleth: Oh. N-no problem. You probably would've been fine.

YN: No, I wouldn't. I'm just glad you saved me.

Scanlan begins to freak out and worried that he'll be the first to get eaten by a zombie until Vex slap him.

Vex: Get ahold of yourself!

Scanlan: Hey! I mean, that was kind of hot, but-

They hear a growl close by and everyone became quiet as they held their weapons.

Archie: (Whispers.) Nobody move.

Scanlan steps back until his back is against the wall. Suddenly a zombie break through the wall next to Scanlan and bites Scanlan right wrist, causing him to yell until Grog grab its head and rips it off. But that didn't stop it as the body strangled Scanlan.

    More of them came from underground and tackles Grog as Vax helps Scanlan.

Vax: You twerp? I don't want to stab you. Ah whatever.

Vax stab its back and throws it away.

Vax: Gross.

Vex quick checks Scanlan wrist, where he was bitten.

Scanlan: (Nervous.) Oh. How bad is it?

Vex: Could be worse.

Scanlan: But how!?

Vex: Could be my arm.

The zombies finally breaks down the door as Percy starts shooting for their head and the rest deals with the ones that are close. YN uses his magic to push them out of the house before Keyleth blocks the entrance with her vines. They deal with the rest that are inside as Keyleth and YN were back to back.

Keyleth: You doing okay back there?

YN: Still breathing, you?

Keyleth: Not dead, yet.

YN: You know, we make a pretty good team.

Thy both smile but it was soon cut short as the zombies breaks through the vines.

Vax: Ah, balls.

Scanlan: We need a way out!

Vex: Head up!

Vex shoots an arrow tied with rope to the rooftop trapdoor before pulling the ladder down for them to escape. YN uses his magic one more time to clear the path before they all start climbing up.

Vex: YN! Come on.

YN: Pull the ladder!

Vax: Are you crazy!?-

YN: Just do it!

Grog pulls the ladder up, but YN ran towards a zombie but uses it as a support by jumping on it before jumping up to the ladder and grab it on time as he climbs up.

YN: Fucken hell, that was close.

Resistant: Whitestone ain't worth this.

Some of the resistance left and making their way to avoid the zombies. Cassandra tries to convince Percy to give them hope, but he said that he can't, Julius was supposed to. Cassandra says that he's gone and that she couldn't because they couldn't trust her since she's been with the Briarwoods for years.

    Suddenly they were interrupted by Scanlan who's asking for help. They all check to see if they can help but then notice his wound is getting worse.

Keyleth: I'm no Pike. This is way beyond me.

Cassandra: Necrosis. You'll lose the arm within the hour.

YN: Wait, how do you know-

Scanlan: The Hour? What!? No, no, I need this arm for, like...stuff.

Grog: Hey, Scanman, you want me to whack it off?

Scanlan: Yeah, you may have to if I lose it!

Grog: Okay. (Raise his axe.) YN, hold him still!

YN nods and pins him down.

Scanlan: NO! No! Stop! Last resort!

Archie: We don't have time for this!

Soon the zombies begins to climb their way up.

Vax: Well, shit.

Vex: Let's be anywhere but here.

They run on the rooftop after another as they hear people screaming in distance. Soon they got off to where there isn't any zombies near.

Keyleth: Okay, this is nice. Maybe we just live in this alley for... forever?

Soon they hear a loud growling near.

Keyleth: Why did I say that?

YN: To be fair, nowhere is safe in this apocalypse.

As they continue to run, a giant zombie is approaching them.

Percy: (To Grog.) The bag.

Grog pass the bag to him and he dig something in the bag as the giant gets closer.

Vax: Yeah, I don't mean to rush you.

Percy: Then don't.

Finally Percy grab what he needed and starts setting it up.

Scanlan: We get it. You're smart. Just do something!

Once he's done, he steps up glares at the giant and steps up before aiming his rifle at the giant.

YN: Quick question, did you tested that?

He pulls the trigger and shoots the giant which it collapse. Unfortunately, the rifle was destroyed due to the impact of the shot.

Grog: (Grin.) Holy shit! Hey, do that again.

Percy: Wish I could. Sadly, its still a working progress.

YN: Well at least it didn't blow you up!

Just then, two more giant arrive with Vedmire leading them and sees a dead giant.

Vedmire: The fuck!? Giants, lay waste to them!

Vex: Scatter! Regroup at the Sun Tree!

They scatter as the giant rips off the roof house and throws it to block Scanlan path, luckily he manage to escape. But Vedmire begins to chase after him. Meanwhile, some of them were at the open are filled with zombies and resistance fighting.

    Archie notice and risk his life to save Scanlan from Vedmire, but he was then killed as Percy witness his death. Soon Vex grabs him and they fall back until they regroup at the alley. Before they head to the Sun Tree, a horde of zombies where in their way.

Vex: They just keep coming!

YN steps up and gets ready to clear the path, but Keyleth stops him before she steps in.

Keyleth: I've got this.

YN nods and step back. Trusting her to know what to do.

Keyleth: Everyone stay back.

Vex hesitates but nods as Keyleth cast a breezing magic towards the horde, but it wasn't enough as the horde of zombies continues to walk towards them.

Vax: Damn!

Keyleth: No. No, come on, please. I need more.

YN: Keyleth!

Keyleth looks back at YN as he speaks up.

YN: Calm your mind. Let it flow through you.

Keyleth nods as she calms her mind and focus.

She then yells and blast a powerful breeze towards the horde. Soon the breeze created a giant ice and freezes the zombies.

Keyleth fell on her knees with traces of ice on her hands before YN helps her.

YN: Are you okay, Kiki?

Keyleth: Y-yes, I'm fine.

Vax: Where did that come from?

Keyleth: Not really sure.

YN: (Smiles.) Did I ever told you that you're amazing?

Keyleth softly laugh but then it was cut short by Vex interrupting them.

Vex: Yes. Yes, she's the tits. We still have to go!

YN: Woman, shut the fuck up.

Vex: Just go!

They continue to run and they meet up with what's left of the resistance.

Percy POV

I lost another one of my close friends, he sacrifice his own life to save Scanlan. If it weren't for him, there wouldn't be hope in Whitestone. Now there isn't, everyone's either tired or injured and we still have a horde of zombies on our doorstep.

Percy: (To Cassandra.) Archie....he didn't make it.

Cassandra: (Sadden.) We heard. Now its your turn to lead them.

Percy: It can't be me, Cassandra. I'm not a leader. I ran.

Cassandra: But you're here now. Yours wasn't the only life shattered that day. We're all here.
  
    The time is now. No one else can do this.

I hesitate for a second but I shake it off and step up to give them a speech. Introducing myself before telling them the day the Briarwoods took everything, watching his family died, and that I ran despite my desire for vengeance. Letting fear to keep me from my home, we've lost everything.

    But Archie never feared. He gave us hope and his life for all of us and for Whitestone. Everyones sacrifice will not be in vein, for today is for the lives we lost, for Whitestone.

    Everyone being to cheer after my speech, giving them hope to fight on for our home.

Grog: (Grunts and yells.) Let's kill fucking everything!!!

3rd POV

Soon the giant zombie breaks the ice, unleashing the horde of zombies.

Percy: Leave non standing!

YN: (Smirk.) Yo Vax, Grog, I bet I can kill more zombies than you guys.

Grog: Nuh uh!

Vax: (Smirks.) Challenge accepted.

Soon the horde of zombies charge towards them but YN blast his magic direct at them.

Grog: Hey, that's cheating!

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as the horde reach towards them. A bunch of zombies tackled Grog.

Vex: Grog! Damn it!

Scanlan tries to play a music but he couldn't, due to his injured wrist.

Scanlan: Oh, worst time to have performance issues. (Groans in pain.)

YN POV

As much as I've always wanted to be in a zombie apocalypse, this shit sucks. I kill many zombies as I could, but then my back is against the wall next to Keyleth.

YN: (To Keyleth.) You know, I've never thought I'd end up dead by a horde of zombies. But uh, if this is our last moment, I uh, just wanted to say I'm in love with you.

Keyleth: (Blushes.) Uh...

I chuckles softly and we were about to kis-

Keyleth: Wait. What!? Now!?

Keyleth: I mean, this is like, the worst time!

YN:

Keyleth goes and kills some zombies while I felt a cut wounded deep in my soul.

Vax: Uh, are you okay?

YN: (Depressed.) Just let me die...

3rd POV

The horde of zombies begins to overrun them and they are completely surrounded.

Percy: Pull back!

Resistance: Climb up, up the tree!

Everyone climbs up to the tree while Vax is dragging YN to the tree.

Percy: (To Vax and YN.) It was an honor fighting with you guy.

Vax: It was a valiant effort, friend.

YN: Least Pike is okay-

Suddenly, they hear a thunder and everyone look at the sky. Soon a beam of light hit the giant in half and destroyed part of the horde. Just then, the light reveal to be Pike who's glowing as well as smirking.

Pike: Sup?

Vox Machina gasp to see Pike is back and saves them.

Keyleth: Pike!? Holy shit!

Scanlan: Huh. You look...like an angel.

Scanlan wince in pain from his wound, but Pike touches his wrist and his arm was completely healed which made him surprise.

Scanlan: Whoa... (Smiles.) marry me?

Pike: (Smiles.) Okay, let's do it. Right now.

Scanlan: (Blushes.) Wait. What? Uh, seriously?

Pike: (Laughs.) No. But its good to see you too, Scanlan. Hey, everyone, uh, I'm-

Grog interrupted her by giving her a big hug .

Grog: (Crying.) I missed you so much! Ooh. Pike? (Gasp.) You're glowing and kind of buzzing? Are you dead!?

Pike: Astral projection.

Grog: (Confused.) Your ass what?

YN: I think she said something about injection?

Pike: I'm here, buddy, but my body is back at the temple. (Chuckles.) I still felt that bear hug, though, which definitely hurt.

YN: Wait....damit we forgot about feeding trinket!

Pike: Oh, I got that taken care of.

Suddenly more zombie come after them.

Pike: (Smiles.) Listen, how bout we talk about it after we murder these unholy fucks.

Pike charge up her holy powers and prepares to fight.

She then blast another beam of light from above, wiping out some of the horde including the giant. Soon more of the giant come as well as the zombies.

Vex: (Smirks.) Hey, look at that. Whole team's back together again.

YN: (From distance.) You forgot about Trinket, dumbass!

Vax: (Smirks.) Vex, give me a lift. I want to try something stupid.

Vex shoots arrows at the giant, letting Vax use them to climb up before stabbing the giant.

Grog: Scanlan. Hand!

Scanlan: 🎶 The legend's back, oh, yes, he's back 🎶

🎶 Hop on, I'll give you a ride. Get ready to fly! 🎶

Scanlan giant magical hand grab Grog and throws him at the giant before Grog starts chopping it.

YN: (Smirks.) Keyleth, give me a lift!

Keyleth nods and lifts YN up with her earth magic before YN jumps on the giant and uses his swords to grab on. Vax stabs both of the giants eyes he's killing as the eye goo spat on his face.

Vax: (Disgusted.) Oh, gods. Ew, new, ew, ew, ew.

Grog continues to chop the giant he's killing.

Grog: Fuck this! You motherfucker.

YN cuts the giant open before punching it and use his magic to blast the giant from the inside. All three of the giant fell at the same time.

Vax: (Smirk.) Mine fell first.

Grog: Nuh-uh!

YN: That still only counts as one!

Vedmire was just does nothing but witnessing everything that's happening.

Vedmire: This cannot be happening. Its preposterous, unthinkable, incompre...(Groan.) fuck this.

Before Vedmire could run away, Percy shot his leg for payback for what he did to Archie. Fortunately he's not on the list, but Percy let the towns people take him instead. One by one, civilian begin to stab him multiple times.

    Soon the people of Whitestone join the fight and the tides turn to their favor thanks to Pike who blessed all their weapons with divine virtue of the Everlight. The people fight back and push the horde back while they hanged Vedmire to the tree. Once they dealt with the horde, Vox Machina along with Cassandra goes after the Briarwoods.

    Since the guards are protecting the castle gates, they have no choice but to go through the dungeon. Once they're in, they make their way to the dungeon.

Keyleth: Percy. You're castle is, um...nice.

Percy: This is the dungeon, Keyleth. The Briarwoods will be found elsewhere.

???: Is someone there?

They hear a woman's voice and look at the cell.

???: Did I hear you say you were looking for the Briarwoods?

Vax: Are you friend or foe?

???: Foe. Of Delilah and Sylas, at least.

She gets up and approaches, revealing herself to the light.

???: (Sigh.) I can take you to them if you free me.

They look at each other before Vax starts picking lock on her cell but YN stops him.

YN: Wait, what makes you believe that we should trust you-

Suddenly Percy shoves YN away before pointing his pepperbox at her while wearing his mask as the black smoke appear around him.

Percy: This is the only freedom I offer you....

Keyleth: Percy, wait!
