After the party had their break in château shorthalt, they teleported back to Whitestone which they arrive near it where there's forest.

Percy: I'll be nice delivering good news for a change.

Vex: Only had to go to hell and back to-

YN: Everyone, stop!

They look at the witcher who's sniffing something in the air.

YN: I smell smoke.

Grog: Oh, is someone smoking grill?

Just then, Vex head begins ring and Percy saw the city of the Whitestone.

Percy: (Shock.) The city.

Everyone saw and they're all shock to see the Whitestone is burning from a distance.

Grog: Wh-whats happening?

Keyleth: Oh, no.

Vex: Percy...

Percy: We're too late. They've hatched.

We see a handful of baby dragons are unleashing chaos across the city where the people are running for their lives.

YN: We have to get down there!

They run down to the city and arrive to see theres fire everywhere.

Vex: Damn it. Quickly, everyone, we have to save the castle.

Keyleth then notice the Sun Tree is on fire.

Keyleth: What about the Sun Tree? We can't let it burn.

Allura: It means everything to the place.

Vex: Fine. Two teams.

Pike: Shit. We gotta get them out of there.

Kima: Wait for me!

Vex: No!

It was too Kate as both gnomes run to save the civilians. Before Vex could say anything else, YN runs to fight the dragons.

YN: We don't have time for discussion. Kill as many as you can!

Vex: YN, wait!

It was too late as he runs towards the broken wagon and uses it to support as he jumps and catches a baby dragon as it tries to fly away.

Vex: Damn it! We can't be everywhere in the city at once!

Vax: Sister, we have to be.

Vex: (Sigh.) Good luck, then.

Vax: (Nods.) YN and I will keep them away from the tree.

Vax fly off with his wings and sees YN falls from the sky after killing the flying hatchling. Fortunately YN landed while the hatchling crashed before Vax arrives.

Vax: You all right?

YN: I'm fine. (Drinks elixir.) We need to keep them away from civilians.

Vax: I'll draw them away while you watch Keyleth and Alluras back.

YN nods before they split up for Vax to draw the hatchlings away while flying.

Vax: Just like ball tag. Let's see if you can keep up!

The hatchlings begins to follow him while YN arrives to group up with Keyleth and Allura. Meanwhile Grog, Vex, and Percy are heading to the castle while fighting off the hatchlings in their way as we see Grog charges at one.

Grog: Come and get it, peewee!-

Suddenly the hatchling was shot by a large arrow to the stomach.

Grog: Huh? Wait, where did that come from?

They then see Yennen and a handful of guards are using the ballista against the dragons.

Yennen: Wish we could give you a warmer welcome, but glad you're here. (To guard) Quickly, reload!

Guard: Yes, ma'am!

Percy: Yennen, where is Cassandra?

Yennen: She was in the castle when they attacked.

Guard: Another one!

They see another dragon coming close.

Yennen: We'll deal with this, Percy. Go find your sister!

They run to look for Cassandra while Yennen and guards are dealing with the dragons in the are and the gnomes are rescuing the civilians from the burning buildings. Keyleth and Allura arrives at the Sun Tree as see its still burning.

Keyleth: No, no, no, no, no. We're too late!

Allura: Chin up, we'll put it out.

Keyleth: I-I haven't really learned any water spells yet.

Allura: How's this?

Allura cast a water magic for Keyleth.

Keyleth: Oh, heck yeah. I can work with this.

Keyleth uses her air magic and together they put the fire away from the Sun Tree.

Keyleth: Almost...got it...

They successfully saved the Sun Tree and catches their breath before YN landed near them with a dead dragon with a spear in its back.

YN: Nice work, you guys all right?

Allura: The Sun Tree is safe. What of the hatchlings?

YN: Vax is drawing them away from the tree.

YN tap the spear before another one attached to the dragon exploded.

YN: But it we're not out of the woods yet. Not while they're still around and burning everything. But I have an idea.

Meanwhile Vax is struggling to shake the hatchlings off his tail while they're flying and the dragons tries to blast fire at him.

Vax: Dammit, can't shake them!

YN: Vax!

Vax sees YN at the rooftop as he's waving his arm and points to where the ballistas are. Knowing that they're planning for an ambush and he leads the dragons to there before YN signals Keyleth.

YN: Kiki, now!

Keyleth uses her vines to trap the hatchlings from the ground to pin them down for the ballistas getting a clear shot and fired ballista's at the dragons while YN uses his spear to kill the rest before Vax landed next to him.

YN: Nice leading them to the trap, sorry it took too long.

Vax: No worries.

They both gave forearm shake.

Vax: Thanks for the save.

Keyleth: What about the others?

Vax: The rest are heading to the castle.

Just as Vax explain, we see the rest of the party arrived at the castle before theres more of the dragons in their way.

Percy: The bastards are everywhere.

They take down some of the dragons before Vex tackles Percy from the fire blast.

Grog: What, more of 'em? That's a big fuckin' problem.

Grog uses his vestige to make himself bigger.

Grog: And I'm even a bigger one! Rah!

Grog took a huge leap and tackled one down before snapping it's neck.

Another one fly towards him until a huge violet shield block its path. Revealing it was Gilmore's magic.

Gilmore: Ah. Are you three a sight for sore eyes.

Percy: Where's Cassandra!?

Inside the castle, we see Cassandra is fighting off a hatchling with her sword until the creature knock her off the stairs and she landed downstairs.

Cassandra: Bugger!

Before it could attack, a gunshot stop it. Revealing Percy next to his sister.

Percy: My thoughts exactly.

Another hatchling crashed through the wall and roars at them. Leaving 2 against 2.

Cassandra: I suppose we've had worse family reunions.

Percy: This one is up there.

They both fight off the dragons until one of them swing its tail to knock Cassandra to the wall.

Percy: Cass!

Thankfully Vex and Grog arrives just in time to kill the dragon off while Percy checks on his sister.

Percy: Are you all right? What hurts!?

Cassandra: (Groans.) Everything?

Vex: The ceiling is coming down! Percy!

Grog: Come on, you two!

Grog grabs the siblings and they run outside before the ceiling collapse. Once they're outside, the see the entire castle is on fire.

Percy: This can't be happening...

Soon a few dragons fly away from the city. In the aftermath of whitestone, survivors are being recovered.

Cassandra: (Groans.) I want search and...search and rescue.

Yennen: (To guards.) Search, rescue, recovery. Find survivors, if there are any.

The guards nod and look for any survivors while Vox Machina are helping as well.

YN: Grog, give me a hand here.

Grog nods and lifts the heavy door for YN to pull the injured survivor while kids walk out. Soon Pike is healing the civilian while Vex ask a question.

Vex: Where the fuck was Scanlan?

Pike: He had to be somewhere.

Vex: Somewhere more important than here?

YN: At least Thordak wasn't here.

Percy: Hatchlings... Barely a handful of hatchling dragons...did this. How did they find Whitestone when the entire city was cloaked?

YN: Only way to find it is that someone knows about it. But who and why?

Keyleth: Raishan sold us out. There's no other explanation.

Vax: Kiki's right.

YN: Fuck dammit. I knew we should've killed her before we left Draconia!

Vax: When we see that bitch-

???: Ah, typical.

They see a child arrives to meet the party.

Grog: Uh, are you okay, little one?

Child: You're judgment is clouded by anger.

Grog: (Confused.) My fudge is clouded by-

Suddenly YN fired an arrow from his crossbow at her until the child blocks it with her magic.

YN: (Glares.) Enough games, Raishan!

The child then turns back to raishan human form with her magic.

Raishan: And your ignorance is staggering.

Keyleth joins YN and points her staff at Raishan.

Keyleth: (Glares.) We had a deal. You swore you wouldn't attack while we were gone. You lied!

Keyleth blasted her fire magic at Raishan who blocks it with her own magic.

Raishan: We're not doing this again, are we?

Vax then appears behind her and holds his knife to her throat.

Vax: We are, but it won't end the same.

Raishan: Calm yourself. This attack was regrettable, but it was not my doing.

Vex: Please. Those were young dragons. Thordaks children.

Vax: He hand no idea where Whitestone was hidden. But you did.

Keyleth: You traded this city for your cure, and it'll be your last mistake.

Keyleth uses her vines to attack Raishan, but she disappeared before it could hit Vax. Thankfully he saw it coming and dodges it before Raishan appears next to them.

Raishan: Fools. (Coughs.) Today was Thordaks revenge for Vorugal. Nothing more.

Pike: So you knew it was happening.

The party surrounded Raishan as they have their weapons ready. 

Raishan: If I had warned Whitestone, he would realize we were working together.

YN: Better to risk yourself than these innocent people.

Raishan: I still couldn't stop this.

Grog: (Scoffs.) Couldn't or wouldn't?

Raishan: Ask yourself, who else knew of your ties to this place? Who would be bold enough to inform a dragon? Who had motive to destroy the De Rolos?

Keyleth: No more stalling. Time's up.

Raishan: Very well, then.

Raishan is about to take form of her dragon as everyone prepares to fight.

That is until Percy fired a shot in the air to stop everyone.

Percy: Stop!

This stop everyone and look at Percy who knows who did it.

Percy: It was Ripley. She must have told him, sent him here as a message to me. A demonstration that the unarmed cannot defend themselves.

Vex: Then we'll hunt Ripley down.

Raishan: No. That's what she wants. You have the plate. Stay the course and finish Thordak once and for all.

Percy: And we cannot fight a giant with an adder in our boot.

Raishan: Need I remind you that I gave you Ripley's location before, and you squandered the chance?

YN: Hell no. All you did is told us about the plate and you didn't told us it was Ripley. Either way, that bitch is a loose ends for too long.

Raishan: You of all should know what's more important, witcher. His eggs are already hatching. You must get to Emon and-

Percy: We're quite finished taking orders from you, Raishan.

Raishan: And what of our deal?

Percy: Its over.

Raishan: (Scoff.) Well then, you've let vengeance blind you again. I'll see you in Emon eventually...as enemies.

Raishan leaves the party but says one more thing.

Raishan: Just remember, when your last breath leaves your lungs, it didn't have to be like this.

With that, she disappeared with a cloud of green poison.

Though Thordak is the main responsible of the Whitestone destruction, Ripley is the reason why they attacked. Right now dawn came and the people start burying the dead while the council are discussing.

Yennen: How many souls?

Allura: Over 500 dead, 800 wounded. Even more missing.

Yennen: Survivors must be protected. Gilmore, how soon can you cast that cloaking spell?

Gilmore: There's nothing left to cloak. The dragons know we're here.

Yennen then notice Percy has been quiet until she speaks to him.

Yennen: You have that look in your eye. What is it, Percival?

Percy: Ripley knew Whitestone's location this entire time, but chose now to reveal it to Thordak. And I think I know why.

Inside one of the castle, Percy opens a storage where its been scavenged clean

Yennen: The residuum.

Percy: Whitestone's entire supply. Stolen. She used the attack to cover while she raided our reserves.

Yennen: Ripley has a mind of machines, not magic. Why would she need residuum?

Percy then founds a small material as a clue and he's familiar to what it is.

Percy: I may have a theory.

Meanwhile with the rest of the party, they're gathered around the bonfire as night came.

Keyleth: Thordak knows this place now, and Raishan knows its unguarded. If we're gonna get Ripley, we need to do it soon.

YN: Believe me, I want to go after that bitch too. But we don't know where she is.

Pike: Scanlan could try to find her again with Mythcarver. If he was here.

Vax: I could check with my old contacts in the Clasp. If anyone knows how to catch a snake, its a guild of thieves.

Percy: No need, I've got her.

Percy arrives with the news by showing them an material he's holding.

Percy: Obsidian thermite. A rare rock scorched by divine fire during the calamity. This can be found in one place: the isle of Glintshore.

Vex: She didn't just leave this behind. It was intentional. An invitation.

YN: I don't like this. Knowing Ripley, she's smart enough to set up a trap for us.

Percy: Clearly. But we'll be going anyway.

Grog: I see nothing wrong with that plan.

Vex: (To Percy.) Darling, I know this is personal for you. Are you sure you can contain yourself?

Percy: You said I'm a changed man. Let's hope you're right.

This made Vex smile before she speaks to the others.

Vex: We'll leave at first light, then.

Grog: Right. Uh, side note. Where is Scanlan?

Pike: Hopefully having better luck than we are.

YN: If he's not fighting any hatchlings, then he should be lucky enough.

Pike: Fair point.

Time skip

Morning came and everybody meet back where they were last night as Percy was the last to arrive before having a small talk with Vex while everybody are watching them like couples from a distance.

Keyleth: Huh, look at them, acting like we don't know.

YN: Do they seriously thought they can hide it from us?

Grog: (Scoff.) Right? How dumb do they think we are?

Pike: They've desecrated every room in Scanlan's chateau. I heard them in the Bullard table just, like, pounding it out.

YN: Oh, well who else would make all those noises-

Vax: We get it.

Before they could leave, Vex approaches Trinket before speaking.

Vex: Trinket, I'm leaving you to watch over Cassandra and Whitestone.

YN approaches to his graphorn and pet its head.

YN: You too buddy. I know you want to tag along, but Whitestone will need all the help to protect everyone.

Keyleth: Okay, we don't know a tree on Glintshore, and Allura can't teleport us 'cause we might wind up in the ocean.

YN: Finally! Someone who understands why I hate portals.

Vax & Vex: Oh shut up...

Keyleth: So...boat, then?

Percy: No. We fly.

Time skip

Grog: Road trip!

We now see everyone flying their way to the Glintshore. Vex and Percy are on the broomstick, Grog and Pike are riding on Keyleth in her bird form, and Vax is holding on to YNs arms.

YN: Okay, so how come I'm the only one who's hanging for my life now?

Vax: Oh, well, if I drop you, least you'd fall in the water.

YN: Yeah, yeah, and I'll swim my way to the island just so I can snap your wings off like a damn chicken.

Soon the storm is in their way but they press on.

Percy: (To Vex.) Would you like my coat?

Vex: Thank you, darling, but I believe we've arrived.

Percy: Oh, thank goodness.

They finally arrived at the island where they landed by the beach.

Grog: (Groans.) A whole day with no ale. I'm starving.

Vax: Don't worry, I'm sure there's a tavern just around the next ancient ruined bend.

Grog: (Scoff.) I'll ancient ruin your bend.

Vex: You all hang tight. Percy and I will scout the perimeter.

They went scouting ahead from the air while Percy discuss with Vex about their relationship and they should tell the others, yet Vex was against it until they found something up ahead and they head back to warn the others. From there they walk on foot.

Vex: Too risky to approach from the air.

Grog: But I'd anyone's out there, we can't see 'em.

Vax: If anyone's out there, we can't see us.

YN: That's why I'm here, catch any suspicious with my senses.

Soon they arrive to a open path.

Keyleth: Oh, a path. That's...convenient.

Vax: And probably crawling with traps.

Vax spotted something that's covered with leaves.

Vax: (To Grog.) Let me borrow that tick.

Vax snatches the fruit Grog was eating and tosses it to where the pile of leaves is until YN caught it.

Vax: What the hell, YN.

YN: Don't be stupid. I know what these can do.

The witcher approaches it and gently removes the leaves lightly to reveal some kind of exploding mine.

YN: Explosion mines, step on it and say bye bye to your leg. The sound will attract anyones attention. Including Ripley.

Vax: Can you disable it?

YN: Regrettably, no. But we can remove it as long as we don't touch the pressure plate. Focus on digging the sides to safely remove it.

Percy: You know these materials well.

YN: Don't let it get in your head.

Vax and YN gets to work on removing them one by one.

Vax: Got one. A message from Ripley.

YN: Hey, does this crest look familiar to you, guys?

YN holds another one that has a familiar crest.

Pike: The De Rolo crest.

Vax: Something's not right. That was easy. Almost...

Pike: Almost too easy.

Vax just glance at Pike for stealing his line.

Pike: Sorry. I've just always wanted to say that.

Vax: (Chuckles.) Well, it sounded really cool.

Meanwhile Vex sees Percy leaning against the tree as he glance at the sun that setting.

Vex: Vax and YN are almost finished. Once we reach the cave, we should be ready to-

Percy: Look. There's a reason I've been pressing you about this.

He turn around and faces her before he speak.

Percy: I'm in love with you.

This made Vex speechless as she was surprised of what Percy said. Yet still hesitant to speak.

Vex: Percival, I...I'm-

Vax: Disarmed.

YN: That should be the last of it.

Vax: Good. Come on, let's move. Stubby, come on.

Vex leaves without saying anything to Percy who is a bit sadden for not hearing her response. Putting that aside, they continue onward where they found the entrance of the mine.

Keyleth: Its quiet. Almost-

Pike: Almost too quiet.

YN: Seriously?

Pike: Sorry.

Vax: Did you see anyone when you and perch scouted it, Vex?

Vex: Oh, uh, no. I mean yes. Yes, there were some guards.

While the twins are discussing, the witcher looks around to see if theres anyone around. Knowing that they couldn't leave the entrance unguarded until he sees Vex stepping in while being distracted from Vax. That is where he sees something on the ground and realize its a wire which made him shock.

YN: Vex, don't move!

It was too late as the wire triggered the trap and release some kind of smoke towards everyone.

They cough out the smoke as their sight begins to blur. The witcher does his best to see what's going on and notice that someone's taking Percy away. He tries to catch them but the smoke then causes an illusion on each of them as they all see their horror past including the witcher where he sees the witchers war when he was a child.

Meanwhile with Percy

Back with the other party, they're living with their horror past as they try to resist. Thankfully YN has a small immunity to resist long enough to know its not real as he pulls out the elixir and drinks it for the effect to wear off.

YN: Thank god thats over.

He then sees everyone else are struggling because of the effect. He tries to help them by starting with Keyleth.

YN: Kiki, its me! Whatever you're seeing, its not real. You have to wake up!

Keyleth: Please. Please don't leave me. Please! (Gasp.) Dead. They're all dead!

YN: Wake up!

He shakes her couple times and it wasn't enough until he pulls out a potion of a cure. Fortunately his instincts forced him to make antidotes back in the Chateau and it paid off. He drinks it in his mouth and kisses her. That way Keyleth can drink it, otherwise she would try to grab and destroy the small bottle. Soon he separate the kiss before Keyleth comes back to her senses.

Keyleth: YN?

YN: That smoke was making you see some horror things.

Keyleth: Oh, god...

YN: Help me keep the others from hurting themselves!

back with the others, Keyleth manage to hold the others with her vines to keep them from hurting themselves. Fortunately Pike has an alternative cure for the team and they all got cured by the smoke where Grog is the last.

Pike: That's the last.

Vex: Wait, where's Percy?

YN: Last I saw he was taken before the smoke got effect on me.

Pike: They must've taken him to Ripley at the mines.

Vex: We need to move now!

They run into the mines and saw the factory is destroyed by a large explosion.

YN: This must be Percy's doing to ensure that they won't make any more.

Vax: Right, but where is he?

Vex: Percy!

Vex runs down and look for Percy as the others look around until Vex heart dropped when she saw Percy.

Vex: No!

She runs to Percy and holds him and see that his life left from his eyes as she started to shed tears.

Vex: Pike!

Pike tries to heal Percy but it was no use, Percy is gone.

Pike: He's gone...

Vex: (Hugs Percy.) Please don't leave me....

Vex sobs while the rest sadden to see their friend is dead....
