Somewhere unknown, there's a house right by the river where there's no destruction nor any threat of creatures.

It is a peaceful home where we hear an old man reading a story to his grandkids.

??? POV

It always brings me joy that my grandkids and their mother come visiting my home, but what I do enjoy the most is when I tell my grandkids a story of my adventure with my old friends.

???: "And though it was mainly the brave Scanlan Shorthalt who slayed the dreaded dragon Umbrasyl and freed the city of Westruun from its tyranny, the rest of Vox Machina also contributed in minor yet unspecific ways."

Scanlan: The end.

Grandson: Ooh, read it again Grandfather.

Granddaughter: Can you, please? The dragon part was so scary.

Grandson: (Nods.) So scary.

Scanlan: (Smiles.) Oh, I-I don't know. Its, its almost time for bed. What does your mother say?

Kaylie: Well, all right. Maybe one more story. Then off to bed with ye.

Kids: Yay!

Scanlan: (Chuckles.) All right. Gather around, kids. You're about to hear how I single-handedly led Vox Machina through the ancient mines of Kraghammer. Uh, wait. What?

Suddenly I notice the writings on the book begins to change to 2 words in the page.

Scanlan: "Wake up"? I, uh

The book close and I see my grandkids with Vax voice and faces.

Granddaughter: (Vax voice.) Scanlan, come on, man. Open your eyes!

Grandson: (Vax voice.) Come on, Shorthalt, please!

Scanlan: Huh?

I didn't know what was going and hard to understand of what are they trying to say until my daughter grab my collar shirt before speaking.

Kaylie: (Vax voice.) You have to wake up!

3rd POV

Back at reality, we see Scanlan is sleeping until Vax decided to wake him up by the hard way.

Vax: Aw, fuck it.

He grabs Scanlan's hair chest. Right when he pulls it, Scanlan wakes up and yells from pain.

Scanlan: Vax! What in the hell!? I was having the best dream!

Vax: Well, welcome back to your worst nightmare.

Scanlan looks around and realize that they're still trapped inside the dragons stomach.

Scanlan: Huh? Oh. Oh, shit.

Back outside of the dragon. We see Umbrasyl is still flying while Grog and YN are still holding on the rope attached to Umbrasyl while screaming to their lives. Meanwhile back with the rest of the crew that are at the ground.

Pike: That was their plan? Go up its ass!?

Vex: Well we are talking about Scanlan.

Percy: This is disastrous. We'd need a sky ship to catch them.

Vex: (Smirk.) Or maybe we don't.

Vex grabs her broom stick.

Vex: Ready, Kiki?

Keyleth: Let's fly!

Keyleth transform into a giant bird for Percy and Pike to ride on before they set off to fly after Umbrasyl while he heads to the mountain.

Vex: Damit, that thing can move.

Percy: Steady, Keyleth.

Pike: Shit it now!

Percy takes aim with his rifle but the dragon moves too much.

Percy: I don't have a clean shot.

Pike: Faster, Keyleth. We're losing them!

Percy: Hang on you two.

YN POV

Grog and I try our best to hold on the rope while Umbrasyl's still flying.

YN: Damit, this bloody bastard is trying to shake us off!

Umbrasyl the hits me with his tail, causing me to let go. Thankfully I manage to grab on the end of the rope on time.

Grog: YN!

YN: I'm fine, I ain't going down that easily.

Grog: (Laugh.) It'll take more than that to shake us off! That's right, fucker. What else you got?

Umbrasyl then fly's lower where we're going straight to the trees.

Grog: Uh oh.

YN: Grog....your dead to me.

One by one we got hit by a tree branch but we're still holding on.

YN: Is that all you got!-

Suddenly I was cut short by a larger tree branch where my hands slip off the rope before I fall down to the hills while grunting.

I kept rolling until a large rock stop me yet it cost me a couple of broken ribs.

YN: Ow....

I struggle to get back up from the pain and saw that Grog crashed to a small mountain.

YN: Grog!

I try to but my injuries slows me down as they vanish. However, Vex arrived with her broomstick just in time.

Vex: Are you all right?

YN: Broken ribs, but I'll live.

Vex: Hop on, we have to catch up with the others.

I nod before I got behind vex and we fly off. I've always wanted to fly on one of these broomstick ever since Harry Potter movie.

3rd POV

Umbrasyl looks back and saw that they're finally gone. But then Grog was on the dragons back.

Grog: (Smirk.) Hello.

Umbrasyl continues to shake Grog off of his back. Worst part is that the acid moves in the stomach where Scanlan and Vax are in as they try to avoid it much as possible.

Scanlan: What do we do, go back through its ass?

Vax: Too much acid.

Vax then realize the wound.

Vax: The blade wound.

Scanlan: But there's no way we'll squeeze through that!

Vax: Then we'll just have to make a bigger hole.

Back outside, Grog is still holding on before grabing his ax and started hitting the dragons back with it.

Grog: (Shouting.) Give me back my friends!

Umbrasyl had enough and turns towards Grog.

Umbrasyl: Die!

He breathes acid directly towards Grog who got hit and falls while screaming. Everyone else saw Grog is falling.

Pike: Oh, no. Hang on, buddies!

YN: We have to save him!

Vex: He's too far. We'll never make it!

Grog still falling down while screaming.

Grog: Come on, Grog, do something smart! Think, think, think!

Grog hits his head and notice the gauntlets.

Grog: Oh, yeah!

Grog uses the vestige to make himself bigger and he crashes down to the ground. The others landed near him as Pike is the first one to check on him.

Pike: Buddies, I'm coming!

Everyone else come to help Grog. As soon as Pike got there, she immediately begins to heal him as he coughs in blood. Keyleth checks on YN after she turns back to normal.

Keyleth: (Worried.) Are you OK, YN?

YN: I'm fine. I can heal little faster, but that fall took a lot out of me.

Pike: (Tears.) Hang on, Grog. Hang on.

Meanwhile with Scanlan and Vax

Back with the others, Pike tries her best to heal Grog, but it wasn't enough to heal his broken ankle.

Pike: (Exhausted.) I...I can't finish. I'm sorry buddies.

Grog: (Smiles.) Oh, its okay. Pikey. I'm feeling way better.

Grog tries to get up but the bone cracks as he collapse back down.

Pike: (Worried.) Easy, easy.

Pike tries to heal him more. Just then, Vax comes back as he landed gently while holding on to Scanlan. Everyone were surprise to see that he has wings.

Keyleth: Wow, Vax.

YN: Holy shit motherfucking talking mushrooms, Vax. You're like a angel of death or something.

Vex: I have a broom, and you get fucking wings. How?

Vax: Leap of faith. Uh, I saw- holy shit. Grog!

Pike collapse and Scanlan helps her.

Scanlan: Pike! Hey, I-I-I got-

Pike: You got me? (Smiles a bit.) Thanks, Scanlan.

Grog: Oh, did we kill the dragon?

Percy: Afraid not.

Percy uses the scope of his rifle to see where Umbrasyl is going.

Percy: He's headed into that mountain. We need to hurry.

Scanlan: Hurry? Are you kidding? Grog's a mess, Pike's done, and its got Mythcarver.

Vex: (helps Grog up.) He's got a point. The odds aren't good.

Keyleth: We did chase it out of Westruun maybe that's enough.

YN: Maybe for us, but not for the dragon. It'll come back, one way or another.

Scanlan: We tore through its stomach and it didn't even slow it down.

Vax: That was your idea.

Scanlan: And it failed. Why push our luck?

Vax: ...There's no such thing as luck.

Scanlan: What?

Vax walks ahead and stops in front of everyone before speaking up.

Vax: We've all had our moments where we want to walk away, but this can't be one of them. Look, I know we're hurt, but so its Umbrasyl. Right now its our best chance.

Vax nods before he leaves while the rest follow except for Scanlan who hesitates for the moment. But he still joins.

Scanlan: (Sigh.) Yup...we're dead.

Time skip to sunset

They arrive at the mountain where Umbrasyl went as the sun begins to set.

Vex: Another ominous mountain lair.

Keyleth: Why are dragons like this.

YN: Dragons attempt to live in mountains because its bigger and older on the inside. we may have the advantage, just like before.

Percy: If only we had eyes on the inside.

Vax: I'll go. I'm fast as hell in this armor.

Vex: Alone? Are you sure, brother?

Vax: Now is not the time for cowardice.

Scanlan scoffs before leaving to the cliff for some time alone before YN speaks up.

YN: (To Vax.) It will be dangerous.

Vax: I'll be back in a flash.

Vax heads in but Keyleth stops him.

Keyleth: Vax, wait. The safe word is "Chenga."

Vax nods before he runs deep in the cave.

YN: Are we really gonna stick wigh that safe word?

Pike checks on Scanlan to see what's wrong with him. He begins to explain to her about his problems of how his daughter called him a cowards and he tries his best to not let her down yet it was never easy.

Vax POV

I've arrive to the dragons lair where there are puddles filled with acid. I continue to scout around until I stop and saw something familiar where it shocked me to see it was the Sphinx's head in the spike. This got me angry to see the monster has done this.

Vax: Where are you, you sneaky bastard?

Suddenly he appears right behind me from his invisibility.

Umbrasyl: (Evil smirk.) Ah, you've come to deliver a vestige. How generous.

Vax: Actually, I was just leaving.

3rd POV

Vax quickly runs away from Umbrasyl.

Umbrasyl: Not fast enough.

He hits Vax with his tail where Vax was about to fall in the acid. But luckily Vax uses his wings to evade it and fly's away. Umbrasyl breathes acid towards him. Vax does his best to evade it until it hits his wings and he crach to the ground.

Umbrasyl: (Evil laughs.) Pathetic hatchling. I'll peel that armor off your mangled corpse.

Umbrasyl attacks but Vax does his best to avoid them for as long as he can until he was knocked down by the dragon. Umbrasyl then picks him up with his tail.

Umbrasyl: Your armor is mine now, little raven.

Suddenly an explosion arrow hits Umbrasyl in the face before he looks and see that it was Vex along with Scanlan, Keyleth, Percy, and YN. Vex then prepares another fire arrow.

Vex: (Glares.) Drop him.

Umbrasyl: (Evil smirk.) Another vestiges for my collection.

Umbrasyl breathes acid at them but Vex shoots the arrow at the acid before it exploded. However, that explosion causes a cloud of dust and Umbrasyl vanish.

Percy: He's gone!

Scanlan: Shit, not again.

YN: All right, enough with your stupid invisibility. Percy!

Percy saw YN grabs and shakes the bottle before throwing up high. Percy then shoots the bottle and it exploded to a massive silver dusts around them. Soon the dusts reveals where Umbrasyl is and Vex saw it.

Vex: Eyes up!

The dragon breathes acid at them but they dodges and spread out. Vex is on her broomstick and looks for the dragon until she heard it behind her. She quickly ready a lightning arrow against the dragon. But she hesitated as the dragon uses unconscious Vax as a meat shield.

    This gave Umbrasyl an opening to breathe acid at her, but she evades it. Percy takes aim with his rifle at the tail to free Vax.

Percy: I've got you, Vax.

He was then interrupted by Umbrasyl spotting him. Percy runs off to avoid the acid as the acid gets closer until YN throws a spear at Umbrasyl before it exploded.

YN: Over here dipshit!

The dragon breathes acid at him as he ducks in cover. YN taps the spear to the ground where there's more spears hiding in the ceiling exploded before the rocks fell above Umbrasyl. The rocks hit directly to the dragon but it then retaliates and chase after YN. Percy then shot Umbrasyl to draw his attention as the dragon knocks Percy with his tail before turning invisible.

Vex: Percy!

Umbrasyl then appears flying behind her and was close to bite her until Keyleth uses her earth magic to stop him and tries to pin him to the wall. But it was not enough as the dragon breaks free with his powerful strength. The impact of the wind was so strong it knock Keyleth back.

YN: Keyleth!

YN quickly goes after her while Vex lost her balance for a second but the dragon was so close, she couldn't evade it.

Percy: Vex!

Percy save her by shooting Umbrasyl to the face where he lost the opportunity to kill Vex.

Percy sigh in relieve. Umbrasyl drops Vax to the acid, but Vex manage to save her brother right before he could touch the acid.

Vex: I've got you.

Umbrasyl breathes acid at Percy as he runs.

Percy: Bullocks!

Percy jumps off the edge and shouts as he falls straight to the acid. Thankfully YN manage to grab him while riding on Keyleth's bird form.

Percy: Thanks for the lift.

YN: Thank us later. We got that dragon on our tails!

Percy: Get us the fuck out of here!

YN prepares to throw another spear at Umbrasyl until Scanlan who's safe on the ground, shouting at them.

Scanlan: Down here. There's a way out!

Scanlan points the way out where they all see it.

Vex: Its gonna be close.

YN was about to throw another spear at Umbrasyl until an idea popped in his head. He throws the spear above the exit.

Percy: You missed!?

YN: Keyleth, its now or never!

YN immediately taps the spear to the ground once again, the explosion caused another rock falls and the second Umbrasyl got close, the rocks hits him from above as they successfully made it to the exit. They all slide down until they're in another lair.
