The Past
(The mist transport Elsa to her memories in the form of ice and snow)
Everyone: Wow
Elsa: I finally get to know.
(She walks past memories of her and her sister as kids, her singing let it go, the Duke of Weselton dancing around her, and even when Anna met Hans. She smashed the ice statue of him.)
Hans: Why did she?
Hans gets shocked. Everyone else laughed
(Elsa reaches her parents' memories. Iduna tells Agnarr about her past. Elsa sees her parents as kids. Then she sees a memory of her mother hiding in a cart with her father knocked out. Elsa hears her mother talking to another Northuldra.)
ELSA: Hiccup and Sabrina’s mother.
Hiccup and Sabrina look at their mother.
YOUNG IDUNA: Did I do the right thing? I mean, I saved my enemy.
YOUNG VALKA: Yes you did. But for now, we need to leave or will all be trapped in here.
ELSA (whispers): Our mothers were close friends.
Elsa, Sabrina and Hiccup look at each other.
Sabrina: And so are we.
(Elsa hears her Grandfather next.)
SOLDER #1: King Runeard, I’m sorry. I don’t understand.
ELSA (whispers): Grandfather?
RUNEARD: We bring Arendelle’s full guard.
SOLDER #1: But they have given us no reason not to trust them.
RUNEARD: The Northuldra follow magic. Which means we can never trust them.
ELSA: Grandfather?
RUNEARD: Magic makes people feel too powerful. Too entitled. It makes them think they can defy the will of a king.
Elsa and Sabrina: He's scared.
ELSA: That is not what magic does. That’s just your fear. Fear is what can’t be trusted.
Jack: True. We have the body of fear and he can't be trusted.
Dagur: What?
(King Runeard and his soldier walk through a wall, Elsa uses her powers to make an entrance and follows them.)
RUNEARD: You see, the dam will weaken their lands, so they will have to turn to me.
(Elsa keeps following them while hearing her mother’s lullaby with the warning. She keeps going until she reaches a chiff and listens to what Runeard says.)
RUNEARD: They will come in celebration. And then, we will know their size and strength.
(Elsa looks back at the entrance then back at the memory.)
RUNEARD: As you have welcomed us, we welcome you… our neighbors, our friends.
Everyone got really uncomfortable.
ELSA: No turning back.
(She takes a deep breath and jumps down to the bottom. She starts feeling cold, she looks at her hands, they are turning to ice. She looks around and then hears the memory of the day the forest fell.)
Jack: Oh no.
Anna: She's turning to ice to save the forest.
NORTHULDRA LEADER: King Runeard, the dam isn’t strengthening our waters. It’s hurting the Forest. It’s cutting off the North…
KING RUNEARD: Let… Let’s not discuss this here. Let’s meet on the fjord. Have tea. Find a solution.
(Elsa’s breath starts to shake. She sees Valka with the Northuldra leader.)
YOUNG VALKA: Are you sure we can trust the king? There’s something about him that I don’t trust.
NORTHULDRA LEADER: I’m sure. The king will help us find a solution to the dam.
YOUNG VALKA: But why a dam? What’s he planning?
NORTHULDRA LEADER: We’ll continue this later daughter. For now, just trust me.
YOUNG VALKA: Yes father.
Sabrina and Hiccup: WHAT?!?!
ELSA: She’s the daughter of the leader?
(ELSA sees Valka’s father and her waiting for the king to show. Elsa looks behind her, King Runeard pulls out his sword and runs to them.)
NORTHULDRA LEADER: Valka, run!
(King Runeard attacks the leader.)
YOUNG VALKA: Father!
ELSA: No!
Sabrina and Hiccup: Grandpa!
(Elsa tried to move but her body was turning to ice. She didn’t have much time left.)
ELSA: Sabrina, Jack.
(She releases the last bit of power she has to send the message to Sabrina and Jack then froze to ice.)
Everyone: NO!!!!!!
(Scene changes to Jack, Sabrina, and Olaf.)
SABRINA: (Looks at Jack) You ok there Jack?
JACK: Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. I’m good.
SABRINA: Are you sure?
JACK: I’m just worried about Elsa.
SABRINA: You love her, don’t you?
JACK: Of course I do. Ever since the lantures in Corona, I felt different around her.
Everyone ohhed. Jack shrunk in his seat.
OLAF: Love makes people do crazy things.
(They see a glow of Elsa’s magic. It circles around them and creates the moment when King Runeard attacks Valka and her father.)
OLAF: What is it?
JACK: Elsa found it. The truth about the past.
SABRINA: That’s Elsa’s grandfather… attacking the Northuldra leader and my mother… who wields no weapons.
JACK: Look again. (Touches the statue and hears everything.) That’s your grandfather.
SABRINA: My grandfather? But why? (Realized something.) The dam wasn’t a gift of peace. It was a trick.
Sabrina: I am surprised I am not crying
OLAF: But that goes against everything Arendelle stands for.
HANS(OFF SCREEN): Yes it does!
(They turn around and see Hans.)
SABRINA: How did you get past the mist?!
HANS: Simple really. Ever since Pitch led me some of his magic, I’ve grown stronger and to mist weakened at the might of the power of fear.
JACK: Where’s Anna?
HANS: Oh don’t worry, she’s safe. (Brings Anna out but she is in an orb surrounded by fear sand.) This power can ever trap a person in their worst nightmare.
Anna: I am scared
JACK: Sabrina, you and Olaf get out of here. I’ll deal with Hans.
SABRINA: Jack…
JACK: Go! Free the Forest.
(Sabrina and Olaf run away while Jack deals with Hans. In the process, Olaf fades away since Elsa went too far.)
Everyone now hopes Sabrina will free the forest.
(Sabrina runs into a cavern then kneels down and cries into her knees.)
SABRINA: Elsa, Jack, Hiccup, what do I do now?
SABRINA:
I've seen dark before
But not like this
This is cold
This is empty
This is numb
The life I knew is over
The lights are out
Hello, darkness
I'm ready to succumb
I follow you around
I always have
But you've gone to a place I cannot find
This grief has a gravity
It pulls me down
But a tiny voice whispers in my mind
You are lost, hope is gone
But you must go on
And do the next right thing
Sabrina started to cry so does everyone else.
Can there be a day beyond this night?
I don't know anymore what is true
I can't find my direction, I'm all alone
The only star that guided me was you
How to rise from the floor
When it's not you I'm rising for?
Just do the next right thing
Take a step, step again
It is all that I can to do
The next right thing
(She climbs a cliff)
I won't look too far ahead
It's too much for me to take
(Reaches the top then gets ready to run)
But break it down to this next breath
This next step
This next choice is one that I can make
(Jumps to the other side and makes it. She walks to the exit.)
So I'll walk through this night
Stumbling blindly toward the light
And do the next right thing
And with the dawn, what comes then?
When it's clear that everything will never be the same again
Then I'll make the choice
To hear that voice
And do the next right thing
Sabrina: *whispering* I am going to make mom and grandpa proud.
