(The screen changes to all of them hidden outside the castle. There were guards patrolling. Elinor refused to charge through there and got caught.)

MERIDA: Mom, do you have a better idea?

Elinor: Sneak into the castle.
Hiccup: Or…
Hiccup looks over at Sabrina. Sabrina's eyes widened.

(The screen changes to them at a secret entrance. She broke the bars out of the entrance.)

SABRINA: That’ll work.

Elinor smiled.

(They waited till the guards were gone then they climbed out of the well and snuck into the castle.)

The Scot guards were surprised.

RAPUNZEL: Where’s the tapestry?

MERIDA: In the room upstairs. Which is just passed the… Oh no.

Jack: Passed the what?

DAGUR: Passed what?

MERIDA: The dining hall. Where my dad is along with the other clans.

Merida: Crap.

SABRINA: Maybe they won’t see us?

(They hear fighting and shouting from the dining hall.)

FLYNN: Or not.

All the clans and the Scots sunk in their seats.

JACK: What’s going on?

(Merida opens the door a bit. The clans are fighting each other)

All the others kingdoms were shocked.

MERIDA: They’re gonna murder each other. Mom, you gotta stop them before it’s too late.

ELSA: She’s a bear.

MERIDA: I know, I know! But how do we get her through there and up to the tapestry with the lot of them boiling over like that?

The six with Dagur and Flynn look at each other.

(Elinor just shook her head.)

MERIDA: Just great!

ELSA: Wait, what if you go out there?

MERIDA: Me?! But I can’t!

SABRINA: If you can stand up to my dad then this should be easy.

Stoick: She has a point.

JACK: We’ll sneak your mom passed them.

MERIDA: Alright, just don’t let my dad see you. There’s a reason why he’s called the Bear King. (Walks through the doors.)

HICCUP: Suddenly, I think I’m afraid of meeting her dad.

Fergus: Hey!

(The minute Merida walked into the room, all of the fighting stopped. She stands before the three clans.)

FERGUS: What are you doing, lass?

MERIDA: It’s all right, dad. (Clears throat) I, um… I have… Well, you see, I… I have been in convence with the Queen.

LORD DINGWALL: Is that so?

MERIDA: Aye, it is.

LORD MACGUFFIN: Well, where is she, then?

Hiccup: Oh no.

MERIDA: She, uh…

LORD MACINTOSH: How do we know that this isn’t some trick?

MERIDA: I’d never…

LORD MACINTOSH: This is highly irregular.

LORD DINGWALL: What are you playing at?

LORD MACGUFFIN: Where is the Queen?

LORD MACINTOSH: We will not stand for any more of this jiggery-pokery. 

LORD MACGUFFIN: That’s right. Let’s see her.

MERIDA: SHUT IT!

(The whole room went silent.)

Everyone jumped. 

JACK: (whispers) You picked a good one there Hic.

HICCUP: (whispers) Not now!

MERIDA: Well, I, uh… (sees her friends sneak her mother passed the clans) Uh… 

(Lord Macintosh turns around but Elinor poses as the fake bear while the others hid behind her.)

Everyone laughed a little.

MERIDA: Once there was an ancient kingdom.

FLYNN: (whispers) What’s she doing?

Elinor: She listened.

MERIDA: That kingdom fell into war and chaos and ruin…

LORD MACINTOSH: Och, we’ve all heard that tale. Lost kingdom.

MERIDA: Aye, but it’s true. I know now how one selfish act can turn the fate of a kingdom. 

LORD MACGUFFIN: Bah. it’s just a legend.

MERIDA: Legends are lessons. They ring with truths.

(Elinor stops and listens.)

FLYNN: (whispers) Is she nuts?! She’ll get us caught!

HICCUP: Wait, listen.

Everyone was listening to the story.

MERIDA: Our kingdom is young. Our stories are not yet legend. But in them, our bond was struck. Our clans were once enemies. But when invaders threatened us from the sea, you joined together to defend our lands. You fought for each other. You risked everything for each other. 

The clans looked at each other.

MERIDA: Lord MacGuffin, my dad saved your life, stopping an arrow as you ran to Dingwall’s aid.

LORD MACGUFFIN: Aye, and I’ll never forget it.

Fergus: I saw something in ya.

MERIDA: And Lord Macintosh, you saved my dad when you charged in on heavy horse and held off the advance.

Lord Macintosh: And I don't regret it.

MERIDA: And we all know how Lord Dingwall broke the enemy line.

LORD MACINTOSH: With a mighty throw of his spear!

LORD DINGWALL: I was aiming at you, you big tumshie.

(Everyone was laughing.)

So was everyone in the theater.

MERIDA: The story of this kingdom is a powerful one. My dad rallied your forces and you made him your king. It was an alliance forged in bravery and friendship and it lives to this day.

(The clans cheered.)

SABRINA: (whispers) Nice.

Elinor: Indeed it is.
Merida: Thanks mom.

MERIDA: But I’ve been selfish. I tore a great rift in our kingdom. There’s no one to blame but me. And I know now that I need to amend my mistake (looks at her mom) and mend our bond.

RAPUNZEL: (whispers) She’s isn’t

ELSA: (whispers) She is. 

Everyone faces held shock.

MERIDA: And so, there is the matter of my betrothal. I’ve decided to do what’s right and…

(Elinor signals Merida.)

MERIDA: And..

(She symbols break tradition.)

MERIDA: Break tradition

Merida smiled.

(The clans gasp.)

Merida rolls her eyes.

(Merida sees her mom symbol her as she speaks.)

MERIDA: My mother, the Queen, feels in her heart that I… That we be free to write our own story, follow our hearts and find love in our own time.

Everyone smiled.
Merida: I get to be free.

(The clans start to tear up.)

MERIDA: The Queen and I put the decision to you, my lords. Might our young people decide for themselves who they will love?

The clans all look at each other and nod.

LORD MACGUFFIN: Well, that settles it. Let these lads try and win her heart before they win her hand. If they can.

LORD MACINTOSH: Fine, then. Seems for once we agree. It was my idea of course.

(They all laugh. Elinor sighs but she poses quickly.)

Everyone sighs in relief.

(The lords bowed to Merida and she bows back. Her dad puts his hand on her shoulder.)

FERGUS: Just like your mom. You devil.

(Merida sees one of the guards is trying to get to her mom.)

MERIDA: Um… Everyone to the cellar! Let’s crack open the King’s private reserve to celebrate!

(Everyone cheers and heads to the cellar.)

Fergus laughs in uncertainty.

FERGUS: Whoa, whoa, whoa. (Whispers to a servant) Psst, Bring the tiny glasses.

(Everyone heads out then Merida closes the doors and joins the others.)

SABRINA: Nice work.

MERIDA: Thanks. But couldn’t have done it without all of you. And mom.

The six and Dagur, Flynn and Elinor smile at Merida who smiled back.

FLYNN: If you ladies are done…

MERIDA: The tapestry!

(The screen changes to them in the room with the tapestry.)

MERIDA: Mend the bond… Mend the bond. Stitch it up. This’ll change you back. We just need a needle and thread.

SABRINA: We better here! The spell will start to take more effect.

HICCUP: How bad will it get?

(They see Elinor lose her human eye look with real bear eyes and instincts.)

SABRINA: Like that.

Sabrina: Oh no.

MERIDA: Not now. Please not now.

FLYNN: Can things get any worse?

(They hear Fergus singing as he walks down the hall.)

HICCUP: Shh. He’ll hear you!

Everyone was holding their breath.

MERIDA: Elsa, Sabrina, Dagur, Hiccup, help me get the tapestry down. Rapunzel, find the needle and thread. Jack, make sure my dad doesn’t go into this room. 

FLYNN: What about me?

MERIDA: Keep my mother from going too much like a bear.

FLYNN: What?! 

Merida let out a laugh.

ELSA: How long do we have till your dad comes in there?

FERGUS(OFF SCREEN): ELINOR!!!!

MERIDA: That long.

Merida: Sh*t.

(The door is busted open by Fergus.)

FERGUS: Merida. (Looks at the other guardians) Who are they? (Sees Elinor) What the?!

MERIDA: Dad, no! It’s not what you think. 

FERGUS: Merida, you and your friends get back!

(Fergus pushes them out of the way.)

ELSA: Your majesty, wait!

(Fergus and Elinor fight.)

MERIDA: No, dad! Don’t hurt her!

Kids put on the blindfolds again. So did Fergus.

(Merida tries to stop them but Elinor scratches Merida and knocks Fergus out.)

SABRINA: Enough!!! (Her powers somehow snap Elinor out of it.)

Sabrina's eyes widened. 'How did she?' She thought.

RAPUNZEL: You ok?

MERIDA: I’m alright. It’s just a scratch.

(Elinor is afraid that she’ll hurt them then leaves.)

JACK: I’ll go after her.

FLYNN: Why can’t I come?

JACK: You’d be easy to spot.

Flynn: Hey!

MERIDA: Dad!

FERGUS: Count your stars, lass. It almost had you. Are you hurt?

MERIDA: It’s your wife, Elinor.

FERGUS: You’re talking nonsense!

MERIDA: It’s the truth! It’s not Mor’du.

HICCUP: Just listen to her.

Fergus and Merida looked at each other.

FERGUS: Mor’du or not, I’ll avenge your mother! (Walks out) I’ll not risk losing you, too. (He locks them in.)

MERIDA: No, dad! Just listen to me. Listen! You can’t! It’s your wife Elinor!

FLYNN: And that answers my question.

Merida: Not the time.

SABRINA: Not the time!

RAPUNZEL: How do we get out?

SABRINA: Wait, I think I can help. Rapunzel, can I borrow that needle?

RAPUNZEL: Ok but what are you doing?

HICCUP: Just watch.

Hiccup and Sabrina smiled.

(Sabrina started to pick the lock then the door unlocked and she opened it.)

DAGUR: How did you..?

SABRINA: You’d be surprised the number of times my brother and I have escaped from Ruff and Tuffs’ traps.

Everyone looked at them. The kids and Fergus took off their blindfolds.

MERIDA: Come on! I can sew this on the way.

(Then three bear cubs walk out of the shadows.)

Merida: Um…

HICCUP: Who are they?

MERIDA: Oh no. Boys, not you too!

ELSA: You know them?

MERIDA: Guys, meet my brothers.

Merida puts her face in her hands.

SABRINA: Those are your brothers?

MERIDA: They must have been spelled too.

ELSA: We take them with us.

FLYNN: Should I be worried about them?

MERIDA: A little. They’re wee devils.

The wee devils smiled.
