Conspiracy, Orders & Truth

Lamenta managed to get a good scan on Tup's mind and body before he was taken away. But, she could not be certain yet of whatever secret lied inside of Tup. So, she had to meditate on this matter. But first, Lamenta did another scan on another clone, and then she did one on Boba since he was a clone too. And when she finally was alone, she started to meditate.

Everyone was saying that Tup was brainwashed, and Lamenta partially agreed with that theory. The only thing was they didn't know how Tup was brainwashed, or if any others were as well.

Meanwhile, the Jedi Council ordered for Tup to be brought back to the Temple immediately so they could scan him with the Force. But, Fives would soon find himself on the run while trying to find answers himself as to what caused Tup to behave the way he did.

Lamenta first looked into the truth of Boba's biology. Sure enough, she found that Boba did not age as quickly as the other clones did, and he seemed to have more of a mind of his own. Unlike the clones bred for war, Boba could go against orders easily, and he did not have any genetic modification to resist stress, that being proven according to Gabby telling her that he had stage fright when he was younger, and that he was found to have anxiety when he was younger. But, when she looked between the truths of a random regular clone and Tup, she found something in both of them that seemed like it didn't belong. It seemed mostly genetic, but at the same time seemed to have a tiny bit of machinery like a computer chip.

Lamenta was no expert on computers or human biology, but she knew enough to know that computer chips did not belong in the human brain. Something was very suspicious about the placement of these chips, but she didn't know yet for sure what it was.

Lamenta awoke from her truth search and knew she needed to find a clone, any clone, and get someone to help her get that chip out so she and some scientist could analyze it properly.

Lamenta immediately went to her father, who agreed to help when she explained how dangerous these chips sounded. So, they went to look for any clone willing to be analyzed. They managed to get a clone named Comet to agree to help, and they brought him to the medical facility to be checked.

Meanwhile, Gabby was with her father and his Padawan as they were shown security footage of Fives, who tried to assassinate the Chancellor. Anakin couldn't believe it, but Gabby had an odd feeling about it.

"The Kaminoans feel a virus corrupted the clone's inhibitor chip," said Master Shaak Ti. "which has led to this behavior. ARC trooper Fives feels he is the victim of a plot, Separatist or otherwise."

"Because he is!" Carmine exclaimed, entering the room with Lamenta.

"Uncle Carmine?" Gabby said. "What's going on?"

"Those chips aren't safe!" Lamenta panted. "They're part of an evil plan to eliminate all the Jedi!"

The Jedi in the room couldn't believe it.

"We had a chip analyzed, and Lamenta looked into its truth. Both confirmed that there's a programming on the chip for something called Order 66, which signals the clones to eliminate any and all Jedi." Carmine explained. "Tup's must have malfunctioned, and that was why he killed Master Tiplar."

"What makes you so sure?" Ahsoka asked.

"Did you not just here me say we had it analyzed? The medical droids here confirmed it doesn't belong in any human."

"We had Boba scanned too." Lamenta added. "He's the only clone without one of those chips."

"The only thing we don't know is who's behind it and why." Carmine finished.

"There wasn't anything in the programming that could've given a clue?" Fiesta asked. "Nada?"

"Nada." Carmine shook his head.

Gabby thought of something. "What if the Chancellor knows something about this and that's why Fives tried to kill him?" She suggested.

"Don't be ridiculous." Anakin said. "I've known the Chancellor since I was a kid. He wouldn't do anything like this."

"Daddy, Carousella gets a bad feeling around him, and so does every animal friend of ours who's ever met him." Gabby pointed out. "I don't sense anything good from him either."

"You haven't sensed anything good in him since you were a baby."

"Can you two argue about this later?" Carmine said. "The point is, the Jedi may be in grave danger because of this."

According to Mace Windu, the Chancellor was brought to his Senate quarters and the area was secured, but Jedi assistance had not been requested.

"Okay, that I find odd." Anakin said.

"Discover the truth we must." Yoda said.

"If there is such a plot involving the clones, we must get to the bottom of it." Mace concluded. "We will investigate quietly, undercover. We must make sure this clone is not killed."

"I'll handle this investigation," said Anakin. "Fives was part of the 501st. If Rex, Ahsoka, and I find him, he'll trust us."

"Be wary," said Master Ti. "Since he removed his inhibitor chip, Fives may no longer be the man you once knew."

"Carmine and Lamenta can do more research on this chip they found." Gabby said. "Maybe there's a safe way to take them out, or reprogram them from the outside or something."

"You can help them with that," said Anakin. "I mean it. Stay here in the Temple. I don't want you getting hurt."

Anakin, Ahsoka, Fiesta, and Rex travelled to the lower levels, following some coordinates that Kix gave them. And they arrived at a warehouse of some sort.

"Let's hope Fives is inside," said Anakin.

Rex sighed. "I hope he knows what he's doing."

The two men and the girls entered the warehouse. Anakin and Ahsoka activated their lightsabers for light as they and Rex carefully journeyed farther into the warehouse. It was dark, and there were stacks of metal crates all around them. Fiesta lit the way with her horn as well.

"Fives, donde estas?" Fiesta called as gently as possible. "Where are you?"

"Fives?" Anakin called. "Fives, we're here. Come on out, we just want to talk to you."

"General Skywalker." came Fives's voice from a hiding place somewhere. "Thank you. Thank you for trusting me. Now, have you come without troops?"

"We have." Ahsoka confirmed. He'd played Hide-and-Seek with Gabby many times. He looked all around to see if he could spot Fives anywhere.

"Put down your weapons, then." Fives said.

"I don't think so, Fives." Anakin said.

"Please, Sir!" Fives begged. "Please, I'm unarmed."

Anakin deactivated his weapon. So did Ahsoka and Fiesta. And Rex spoke up.

"Alright. I'm putting my pistols down." Rex set his guns down on a nearby crate and backed up with his hands up.

"What are we here for, Fives?" Anakin asked.

"I need your help," said Fives.

"I know you do. We know you're not well. It's been rough for you these past couple days."

"I'm not crazy!" Fives said angrily, then he calmed down. "Please, please, just... just hear what I have to say."

"We're here to help you, Fives. Just come with us." Anakin said as gently as possible. "Let us take you back to the Temple."

But they didn't know that Fives was hitting some buttons on a panel, and activated a Force field that trapped Anakin and Rex.

"I just need you to listen to me, please." Fives said, finally coming out from hiding.

"I'm not sure we have any other choice." Anakin said, some strange blue plant growing out from the floor as Anakin was angry.

"I was framed because I know the truth..." said Fives. "the truth about a plot, a massive deception."

"By whom?" Rex asked.

"Well, there's a sinister plot in the works against the Jedi." Fives explained. "I have proof of it. I can prove that everything that I know is true beyond a shadow of a doubt!"

"Show us the evidence," said Anakin.

"The evidence is in here," said Fives, pointing to the side of his head. "It's... it's in here?"

"En tu cabeza?" said Fiesta, confused.

"In your head?" Ahsoka translated (Fiesta started teaching her Spanish a little while after they met), equally confused.

"It's in all of us, every clone." Fives continued.

"What is it?" Rex asked.

"Organic chips built into our genetic code to make us do whatever someone wants, even kill the Jedi." Fives pointed to his head again. "It's all in here."

"Let's just get you some help first." Anakin said calmly. "Then we can review everything. It'll be okay, Fives. We'll sort this out."

"Ah, you don't believe me!" Fives said in distraught.

"No, we do believe you, Fives." Ahsoka said. "We just want to help you."

Anakin tried to think about what his daughter would do in this situation. Then, he remembered how Gabby helped Boba before, and that was just by talking to him gently and seeing his feelings.

"Fives... I need you to take a breath. I can see that you're scared." Anakin said. "We just need you to calm down. Please, just take a deep breath."

Fives did take a breath.

"Good. That's better." Anakin said calmly.

"Fives, we are listening to you." Rex said. "We only want to help."

"How do I know you're not tricking me?" Fives asked. "How do I know it won't be a trap?"

"Don't you think I would've used my powers to do that by now if it were?" Anakin pointed out.

"The Chancellor will still try to kill me! I promise you that!" Fives said.

"The Chancellor?" Anakin said in shock. Now he was starting to believe his daughter might be on to something about the Chancellor.

"He's in on it!" Fives said. "I don't know to what extent. But I know he orchestrated much of this. He told me in the medical bay!"

"He told you?" Anakin said, still in a bit of disbelief. "When you tried to assassinate him? You have gone too far, Fives. The Chancellor couldn't have done what you claim."

"He did!" Fives said. "I swear to you, General. You have no idea-"

That was when clone troopers came in

"Stand down! Get on your knees!" said a clone commander.

Fives told them to get away from him, but the clones kept coming. And as Fives was grabbing a gun... he was shot!

Anakin order for the ray shield to be brought down now, and a clone shot the power source, but Fives was dying.

However, that was when Gabby appeared with Carousella, having sensed someone in need of healing immediately, part of how her power had grown recently.

"Gabby? I told you to stay behind." Anakin said.

"Lecture me later, Daddy!" Gabby said. "I've got someone to heal. Give me room!"

Gabby had Rex move out of the way. Then, she kissed Five's cheek to stabilize him. This wound was pretty severe, so she needed to use a little more magic this time around.

"Don't worry, Fives. You'll be okay." Gabby said. Then, her hair glowed as she sang her healing incantation.

Power, gleam and glow.

Let your power shine.

Make the clock reverse.

Bring back what once was mine.

Heal what has been hurt

Change the fate's design

Fives closed his eyes as Gabby sang, and a golden glow started to appear from beneath his armor.

Save what has been lost

Bring back what once was mine

What once was mine

Carousella put her ear near Fives's chest.

"He's still alive." Carousella said. "He's just under a deep sleep."

"He'll be okay." Gabby whispered.

"Alright, Jedi. Fill us in." Carousella said.

Carousella brought Fives to Spirituo, where Wysteria and her family could take care of him. Nymphs were known to be very gentle and have many healing abilities, especially those in Wysteria's kingdom. But, as far as anyone else, including the Chancellor, knew, Fives was dead, and they had to keep it that way for the time being. As for why they had no body, they told everyone that a fire broke out and Fives's body was lost. It was the best they could come up with.

Master Windu, Yoda, Shaak Ti, and Anakin sat in the Chancellor's office as the Chancellor himself spoke to them.

"A tragic situation indeed." said Chancellor Palpatine after the Jedi told him that Fives was dead.

"About the clones' breakdowns," said Mace. "have we discovered any new evidence?"

"I've had my own personal doctor examine the body of Tup." Palpatine said. "It appears Nala Se did miss something in her examination."

"Another cause your doctors found?" Yoda asked.

Everyone was silent for a moment.

"A parasite." the Chancellor finally said. "Native to Ringo Vinda. Probably in the canteen of water Tup and Fives shared. However, we cannot be certain since the renegade clone's body was lost. However, it is clear that it caused the inhibitors to decay, once the parasite had taken hold. It is very rare. However, just to be cautious, we have prepared an inoculation for every clone trooper in our army."

"So I guess it's over, then?" Mace asked.

"Yes," said the Chancellor. "We can finally put this whole wretched situation behind us. We must direct our attention back to the war at hand. Each day we grow closer and closer to victory."

Meanwhile, Carmine and Lamenta continued their research on the chip, and made duplicates to perform magical experiments. They tried to see if they could create a spell or potion that would get rid of them without hurting the clones. Or perhaps a frequency that could deactivate them, which Carmine tested using his powerful voice to try and see if a high-pitched frequency did anything. So far, no luck yet.

"We'll find a way," said Carmine.

It had been Gabby's idea to search for such a cure, and to hide Fives. After everything Anakin, Ahsoka, Fiesta, and Rex testified that Fives told them, she knew they couldn't let the Chancellor know they knew he had something to do with the inhibitor chips, and Fives held key pieces to stopping the evil plot that awaited them. Something much bigger than any of them. More than any of them could even begin to imagine.

The very day after finding out about the inhibitor chips, the Council called an emergency meeting to discuss the plan on how to confront the situation. The Council summoned Anakin and Ahsoka to the Chamber that morning, as well as the Jinns and Gabby.

Carmine, Lamenta, and Gabby already arrived, but so far, the other two people they summoned were running late that morning.

"Gabby, is your father still sleeping?" Obi-Wan asked, slightly annoyed.

"Nope." Gabby shook her head. "I knocked on his door and he said he might be a little late. But I didn't see him at breakfast. Or Ahsoka."

Just then the doors opened, and in came Anakin.

"Sorry I'm late." Anakin said.

Except, something looked rather silly about Anakin. Instead of walking in, he was bouncing around, but in a handstand. Gabby and Lamenta couldn't help but laugh when they saw how Anakin was getting around.

"Daddy, why are you bouncing on your hands?" Gabby asked.

"And since when can you do handstands so well?" Carmine asked. He was the one with more experience doing handstands. He remembered when he and Anakin tried to see who could stay up longer, Anakin fell over as soon as he got into the handstand.

"Believe it or not, I woke up like this." Anakin said. "I was fine last night. The next thing I know, I fall out of bed, and I literally can't turn right-side up."

"What about Ahsoka?" Gabby asked.

Speak of the devil, Ahsoka walked in, but she looked green. Very green.

"Ahsoka, are you okay?" Lamenta asked. "You look green."

"Just wait a second." Ahsoka said. Then she turned blue. Before Carmine could speak. "If you say 'why so blue,' so help me..."

"Okay, okay." Carmine said.

"What happened?" Mace asked.

"I have no idea." Ahsoka said. "I woke up and looked in the mirror, and then I was purple. Then red, then yellow, then pink."

"Maybe they're sick." Lamenta suggested.

"I don't feel sick." Ahsoka said. "And I'm not sure sickness causes excessive hair growth."

"What do you mean?"

Fiesta walked in, and her hair was crazy long. Her mane covered her entire face, her tail was at least ten feet long, and her fur grew so long, she looked like one of those dog breeds with long locks in their fur.

The kids could hardly keep from laughing when they looked

Carmine seemed to think for a little bit, and he thought of something. He asked his brother and Ahsoka if they happened to come across a blue flower-like plant at any time yesterday, and Ahsoka told him that Anakin accidentally grew a plant like that when he and Rex spoke to Fives. Then, Carmine told him that he recognized a plant like that.

"That plant had to have been poison joke." Carmine said. "It's a magical plant. If you touch it, it makes silly things happen the next day if you don't wash off right away."

"Sounds like Daddy found out the hard way that growing magical plants has some consequences." Gabby said.

After Anakin mastered growing non-magical plant types, Gabby began teaching him how to grow plants with magical properties, which required more skill, focus, as well as knowledge of the plants' magical properties.

"It's actually easy to cure. You just need to take a bath." Carmine told them. "But, I think it can wait until after this meeting."

The Council already knew from Fives that the Chancellor was involved somehow, and they needed to investigate this matter as quietly as possible. All they knew so far about the chips was that they made the clones obey their masters, and there was an order coded 66 that ordered clones to kill the Jedi. Thus, since Carmine, Lamenta, and Gabby were experts on magic and knew the most about the chips so far, they were granted the job of searching for a spell or potion that could cure the clones' of those chips by disabling them, or making them disappear or something.
