Blocked Trade & Lost Rings

Planning a wedding was no joke. No matter who was getting married, no matter the size of the wedding, there was always so much to oversee to ensure a perfect day. The perfect wedding dress, the guest list, competing for the best man or maid of honor positions in the wedding party, the flowers, and of course the invitations. This upcoming wedding was no different.

With Anakin and Padme's wedding fast approaching, everyone was getting really excited. Many Republic allies would be in attendance, as well as the royal families from Mythiria's Nine Kingdoms, and most importantly, Padme's family, as well as the Jedi Council. It was the only thing anyone could talk about, except for the people of Pantora.

Right now, the Pantorans were in a bit of a pickle, as the Trade Federation had blockaded their planet and suspended all commerce with the system. As a result, Pantora began to rally against the Republic, who did not seem to do anything to help. To make matters worse, Count Dooku offered aid if the Pantorans joined the Separatist Alliance. But, newly elected chairman Baron Papanoida did not wish to do so, and thus dispatched Senator Chuchi to Coruscant in hopes that she could motivate the Senate to act in their favor before Lott Dod legitimized the blockade.

"The Trade Federation is neutral in this," said Senator Dod. "but Pantora must pay its debt before we can resume commerce with the system."

"That is a lie," said Senator Chuchi. "It is well known that the Trade Federation is aligned with the Separatists."

"Slanderous! We are not Separatists simply because we do business with them. How many times must I remind you of the Commerce Treaty of 1647? The Trade Federation is neutral."

"I beg the Senate to listen to our pleas. Ignore the Trade Federation's feeble attempt to paint this as a domestic financial issue and allow us to resume trade."

The others cheered as she concluded.

After the meeting was over, Padme Amidala, soon to be Senator Skywalker to the public, met Senator Chuchi in the hallway.

"I wanted to compliment you on your speech," said Padme, approaching the Pantoran Senator.

"Thank you, Padme." Chuchi smiled.

"You are very brave."

"The Trade Federation doesn't frighten me."

Padme walked with Senator Chuchi in the hall.

"I just wanted to let you know that there are many of us in the Senate that support you and Pantora in these difficult times." Padme explained. "I know the Separatists have approached you to offer their help. Please do not take it. The Senate will force the Trade Federation to resume trade."

"Don't worry, senator." Chuchi reassured. "There is no way Pantora will ever have dealings with the Separatists. We'll always be loyal to the Republic. The chairman of Pantora's just arrived. I must go brief him. Oh, and we're all looking forward to the wedding. Congratulations again."

"Thank you. Send the chairman my best wishes." Padme said.

Senator Chuchi went to meet Chairman Papanoida in his office, and he wasn't alone either. There were three younger Pantorans with him, a male and two females.

"Senator Chuchi, you spoke well on behalf of our people today." said the chairman. "I only hope the Senate is truly listening."

"As do I, Chairman." said Chuchi.

"Allow me to introduce my family. These are my daughters, Chi Eekway and Che Amanwe," the girls bowed in respect. "and my son Ion."

"Father, Amanwe and I are going home." said Chi Eekway. "Don't be too late."

"I won't be long." Chairman Papanoida told his youngest child. "Ion and I have some issues to discuss with the Senator first."

As the daughters left, the chairman spoke to Senator Chuchi about the problems their people were facing and what could possibly be done.

Meanwhile, Gabby and her brother Boba were with their protocol droid C3-PO, leaving the jewelry store. As the ring bearer, Boba took on the responsibility of picking up the rings, and as the former ring bearer before she gave the job to her brother, Gabby accompanied him to make sure they didn't lose them.

"I'm so excited for the wedding!" Gabby said.

"Me too." said Boba. "I've never been to such a big party before."

"It's more than just a party, Big Brother. When Mommy and Daddy are married, we'll officially be a family forever, and everyone will know it. But the wedding can't happen without these rings." Gabby patted the little blue shopping bag that held the rings. "I can't wait to see them."

The kids didn't even look into the box because it had a white ribbon tied around it. They thought Roya, who designed the wedding rings, had it put there so it would be extra special once they got the box, so Gabby and Boba decided to wait until they got to see their parents before looking at the rings.

Later, Chi Eekway and Che Amanwe arrived at their apartment. Amanwe tried to turn on the lights, but they didn't turn on.

"What's wrong with the lights?" asked Chi.

Suddenly, something moved in the dark.

"Did you see that?"

"It's nothing." said Amanwe, walking in farther. "Just the shadows playing tricks."

However, as Amanwe walked farther into the room, Chi was grabbed silently from behind.

"Don't tell me you're afraid of the dark." said Amanwe.

But when Amanwe turned around, her sister wasn't there.

"Chi?"

Amanwe backed up slowly and grabbed something to use as a weapon. But she really hoped her sister was just fooling around.

"Chi? Stop fooling around."

That was when the oldest daughter heard a scary cackling noise.

"My father's a powerful man!" she told the unseen cackler. "If you hurt me or my sister, you'll be dead."

That was when some figure came out from the shadows with an unconscious Chi Eekway over his shoulder, and a blaster in his other hand.

"Big talk. You're coming with us." said the intruder.

But there was a second intruder, a Rodian who came behind Amanwe. Amanwe whacked the Rodian in the head with the item she grabbed, but then was stunned by the other intruder, and dropped her weapon.

"Hurry. Let's go." said the Rodian, whose name was Greedo.

Greedo picked up what Amanwe hit him with and placed it on the coffee table before taking the newly unconscious Pantoran over his shoulder.

The next day, Padme was with her "fiancé" Anakin, and their two children as they approached a ship. Carousella and Remix were busy working on making a playlist for the wedding reception, and the flower girl and ring bearer were scheduled to get their final fittings on their outfits soon.

"I don't like the situation on Pantora one bit." Padme said. "It reminds me far too much of Naboo's own scarred history."

"Well, that blockade wasn't all bad." said Anakin. "It's the reason I met you, after all."

Padme chuckled and said, "You certainly have a unique way of looking at things, Ani."

"And we love that about Dad." Boba smiled.

"I wouldn't want him any other way," said Gabby, hugging her father's leg.

Suddenly, Ahsoka ran over, calling for Anakin and Padme.

"What is it, Ahsoka?" Padme asked.

"Someone has kidnapped Chairman Papanoida's daughters." Ahsoka said.

Padme sighed. "I was afraid something like this would happen. Anakin?"

"The Jedi can't get involved." Anakin said. "This is a job for the local police."

"I'm not so sure local authorities can handle it. The Separatists are putting a lot of pressure on Pantora to join them."

"And surprise, surprise, they resort to kidnapping." Gabby said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.

"What else is new?" Boba asked, remembering very well how bad the Separatists were.

"I'm afraid this blockade may give the Pantorans no other choice." Padme said.

"Master, if the Jedi can't officially get involved, let me do this on my own..." Ahsoka said. "Senator Chuchi is a good friend of mine."

"All right, with the Separatists involved, I guess it gives you cause to investigate." Anakin said. "Go help Senator Chuchi, but don't get in the way of the local authorities."

"Aren't you going to help?" Ahsoka asked. "If that were your kids who were taken, I'm pretty sure you'd run through fire to save them."

"Yes, I would. But, I said the situation gives you cause to investigate, not us." Anakin said. "I need to go back to the Jedi Temple and make sure the Council doesn't find out about your little expedition."

"Should you really proceed without the Council's approval?" Padme asked.

"We do it all the time, don't we, Snips?"

"Yep. And you got a daughter who does the same." Ahsoka said.

"Hey, I usually go with someone who can protect me if I can't protect myself." Gabby whined.

"Well, be careful, Ahsoka." Padme said. She looked at Anakin. "I still can't believe they let you teach."

"You let me look after our kids all the time," smirked Anakin.

"Touche."

So, Anakin took his kids back to the Temple. The wedding was less than two weeks away, and there were still so many things to finalize. They already had a caterer, Remix and Carousella were doing well with the playlist, Peppermint oversaw Strawberry's progress on the wedding cake and desserts, and Roya and her mother, Sultana Lanaisha, came to help with the final fitting on the wedding party's outfits.

"Hold still Anakin," said Lanaisha, as she fixed up his outfit to make sure it fit properly. "I'm almost done."

"No offense, Your Majesty, but could you please hurry? I'm kinda ticklish." Anakin said, trying to hold still as Lanaisha fixed up his shirt before getting his jacket on.

Anakin looked in the mirror at his outfit. It was a nice outfit in Naboo blue with dark blue pants and matching boots, and he even had a flower on his jacket to top it off.

"You look so handsome, Daddy." Gabby said, Roya finally finishing fixing up her flower girl dress.

Gabby twirled in her dress as she looked at her own reflection.

"Not too bad yourself," smiled Anakin. "You're a real adorable little beauty, Princess. Though, I think that even when you're dressed casually."

"Wait, where's Boba?" Gabby asked, noticing her brother's absence.

"I feel silly," said Boba, hiding behind the room divider. "I've never dressed like this before."

"Boba, I'm sure you look great. Let's see." Anakin said.

Slowly, Boba came out from hiding, dressed in a blue tuxedo with a white shirt and a dark green neck tie.

"Be honest. Do I look weird?" Boba asked.

"You look great." Anakin smiled.

"You look just like a little prince," said Lanaisha.

"I like it. Blue really is your color." Gabby said. "We're all gonna look so great. I can't wait to see Mommy in her dress."

"It'll be worth the wait. Trust me," said Roya. "She'll be the most beautiful bride Naboo has ever seen."

"Think you'll be available to design my wedding dress when I get married?"

"If your dad even lets you have a boyfriend when you're older."

"I wouldn't count on it if I were you." Anakin said.

Everyone laughed.

Gabby and Boba, still in their outfits, began practicing walking down the aisle in an empty hallway in the Temple. Remix and Carousella were helping them.

"Okay, guys. You ready?" Carousella asked.

"Ready." Gabby said.

Carousella started to play "Here Comes the Bride" from her horn.

Boba went first. He held a pillow with a piece of candy sitting on it for a pretend ring. He remembered how to stand thanks to all the practicing balancing a book on his head, and managed to make it to the other end of the hall without dropping the candy or losing his balance.

"Great job, Big Brother." Gabby shouted from across the hall.

"Now it's your turn, Princess." Carousella said, still playing the music.

Gabby started to sprinkle the petals across the floor, but as she did, flowers started to bud and bloom along the bottom edges of the walls. And the farther Gabby went, the more petals she sprinkled, the more beautiful flowers grew.

"I didn't mean to do that." Gabby said.

"It's okay, Gabs." Carousella said. "I think you should totally use that for the ceremony. And more. Just picture it."

Gabby could see it now. Flower buds growing as the flower girl walked down the aisle, and then the buds bloom into beautiful flowers as the bride walks down the aisle, and maybe for a big finish, she could make an entire archway of roses grow when the bride and groom kissed.

"I can't wait for the wedding," said Gabby. "It's gonna be amazing."

"Hey, have you guys seen the rings yet?" Carousella asked. "I wanna see them."

"Well, we were actually hoping to wait until we were with Mommy and Daddy." Gabby said. "But I don't think they'd mind. Come on. They're in my room."

The kids and the ponies arrived in Gabby's room, where she took the little shopping bag from her closet and got out the box.

"Aww, they put a ribbon on it. How sweet." Carousella said.

"Um... I'm not an expert on jewelry, but isn't that box a little big for holding rings?" Remix pointed out.

Everyone looked at the velvet box. It was about two times the size of a typical ring box.

"Maybe it's just that size because they're custom designed." Boba shrugged. "People are also calling it a royal wedding, after all."

Gabby untied the ribbon from the box and opened it and gasped in horror.

"Or maybe it's because these aren't the rings!" Gabby exclaimed.

"What?!" Boba and the horses all exclaimed in shock.

Gabby turned the box around to show that the box didn't even have rings in it. Inside was a charm bracelet. A silver chained bracelet with little flower charms on it.

"How did this happen?" Gabby said.

"They must've given you the wrong bag by mistake." Carousella said.

"We gotta get to the jewelry store now." Boba said. "Before Mom and Dad find out."

So, Gabby and Boba rushed to the jewelry store on their horses, and they explained to the jeweler that they just noticed they received the wrong bag. Gabby even showed the receipt of the correct order.

But, when the jeweler checked the order list and inventory, the rings weren't there.

"What do we do now?" Boba asked.

"We could remake the rings, but it could take about a month." said the jeweler.

"That's no good." Carousella shook her head. "The wedding is in twelve days."

"Then we have to find the rings and we have to find them now." Gabby said. "Maybe someone else on the order list got them by mistake."

Gabby asked the jeweler how many others received their orders the previous day. It turned out there were four other people who received orders for custom jewelry, but only one of them didn't look inside the box. And it turned out that the one who didn't was picking up a custom-made bracelet that was made to be delivered to Chairman Papanoida's apartment.

"We have to go see the chairman now." Boba said.

"Then let's go!" Gabby said.

"Give your father my condolences." Dookus said over holo-transmission. "If you want your sisters back, we're here to help."

Ion ended the transmission and got up to talk to his father.

"Father, Count Dooku has offered to help us find Chi Eekway and Che Amanwe."

That was when the doors opened and in came Ahsoka.

"Chuchi, Senator Amidala sent me to help if I can." said the Togruta. She bowed to the chairman. "Chairman Papanoida."

"This is my good friend Ahsoka." Chuchi introduced.

"Good. A Jedi can always be of help." said the chairman.

"Senator Amidala thinks this may have something to do with the Separatists." Ahsoka explained.

"They've already made contact with us." said Ion. "I don't think this is a kidnapping. I think they're holding them hostage."

"A not very subtle attempt to get us to join the Separatists?'" Chairman Papanoida guessed.

"If the Separatists are involved," said Ahsoka. "your daughters may be held on the Trade Federation ship."

That was when the doors opened again, and in came Gabby, who was bumped into by Boba, who got bumped by Carousella, and then Remix, who was running too fast, failed to stop in time and knocked everyone down.

"Remix, this is exactly why we don't run indoors." Carousella scolded her cousin as she and the other kids were piled on top of each other.

"Gabby? Boba? What are you doing here?" Ahsoka said.

"You know these children?" the chairman asked.

"This is Princess Gabriella and Boba Skywalker, Senator Amidala's children. And their horses Carousella and Remix." Ahsoka introduced.

Senator Chuchi introduced the kids to the chairman and his son and asked the kids why they came.

"We came here because of a wedding-related emergency." Gabby said.

Carousella took out the bracelet. "We believe this is yours, Chairman?" said the alicorn.

"Yes. That bracelet is a birthday gift for one of my daughters." said Chairman Papanoida. "But why do you have it?"

"The jewelry store gave it to us by mistake." Boba explained. "We think they might've given you our parents' wedding rings by accident."

"If they did, then, they should be in our apartment." said the Chairman. "Padawan Tano, why don't you and Chuchi pay the Trade Federation a diplomatic visit and see what you can find out about my daughters. We'll stay here and follow the police investigation."

The Skywalker children accompanied the Papanoidas to their apartment, where the police did an investigation.

"Did you find anything?" Chairman Papanoida asked the inspector.

"We've completed a thorough sweep of your apartment, chairman." said the inspector. "No evidence of foul play."

"My daughters' lives are in your hands, inspector." said the chairman.

"You have nothing to worry about, Your Honor. We are in complete control of the situation."

"Excuse me, Inspector." Gabby said, raising her hand. "I'm Princess Gabriella Amidala. My brother and I were wondering... during your search, you didn't happen to come across a velvet box with two rings in it, did you?"

"Afraid not, Princess. Why?" The inspector asked.

Carousella motioned for the Pantorans to go into their apartment, and they did.

"Those are my parents' wedding rings. They mixed up our order with the chairman's, which we returned to him." Gabby explained.

"If you need to report them stolen, what do they look like?"

"I don't know. One sec."

Gabby took out her new E-phone, a smartphone that was used in Enchantra. Her parents got it for her so she could communicate with her friends easier. She used it to call someone, and Roya answered.

"Roya, do you have a picture of the wedding rings you can send me?" Gabby asked. "It's important."

"You lost the rings?!" Roya exclaimed over the phone.

"No, they were stolen." Gabby said. "We need a picture to show the police."

"Okay, I'm sending it to you now."

Gabby hung up and waited a few seconds before she got the picture, which she showed to the inspector and the police droids. Anakin's ring was gold with beautiful curvy patterns engraved in it, while Padme's was gold with a big diamond in the center with two blue gems on its sides.

"We'll do everything we can to find them, Princess." said the inspector before they left.

But just in case, Gabby and Carousella went inside, where Boba and Remix were looking to see if the rings were somewhere the police might've missed.

"That inspector's useless," said Ion. "They must have left clues somewhere."

Remix dug under the couch cushion, only finding dust.

"ACHOO!"

"Remix, don't make a mess!" Boba said.

Remix snorted. "Nothing but dust in and under the couch." He sneezed again.

"Look here, the icon of the moon goddess." said the chairman, picking up a little statue. "It should be on the shrine with the others."

The chairman was about to put the statue back in its place, but then noticed something green on it. Blood of some kind.

"It must be what they used to fight off their attackers." said the Chairman.

"You mind if we look around for the rings, Chairman?" Gabby asked.

"Go ahead. Just be careful." said the chairman.

Gabby, Carousella, Boba, and Remix did a thorough search of every room in the apartment, searching high and low, but finding no wedding rings. They did find plenty of dust in different places, though. As well as a few paperclips, lost socks, and a hair clip.

When the kids returned, they found that the chairman discovered the blood matched the bounty hunter Greedo, who was based on Tatooine.

"Greedo must've taken the rings when he took your daughters." Gabby said.

"Then we have to get them back." Remix said.

"Wait a minute," said Carousella. "If the Separatists are involved in this, how do we know Greedo didn't give them to the Trade Federation?"

"Why would the Trade Federation want wedding rings?"

"Maybe for extra compensation or something?" Boba shrugged. "Or they thought they belonged to the chairman and decided to take them just to be mean."

"Whatever the reason, there's two different places the rings could be." Gabby said. "We should split up. Carousella, you and Boba go find Ahsoka and get her to let you go with her to the Trade Federation ship, Remix and I will go find Greedo and see if he has the rings."

Carousella managed to get herself and Boba to find Ahsoka and Senator Chuchi just before they took off. When they explained how they hypothesized the rings might be with the Trade Federation, the older girls agreed to let them go with them.

They soon arrived on the Trade Federation ship. Ahsoka and Boba were both disguised as servants, and Carousella used a spell to temporarily change her mane to dark blue and put on a different saddle to avoid being recognized.

"Senator Chuchi, to what do we owe this pleasure?" said one of the trade federation leaders.

"I bring word from the chairman of Pantora." said Chuchi.

"The chairman has finally decided to agree to our terms?

"Not exactly. The chairman wanted to inform you of an impending alliance between Pantora and the Confederacy of Independent Systems."

"The chairman is planning to join the Separatist Alliance?"

"If that were the case, would you remove your blockade on Pantora?"

"If that were the case, the chairman would have to go to the Senate and renounce the Republic. Then we could discuss how quickly we can resume commerce."

"Very well. I shall contact the chairman. We can discuss the finer details of the terms later this evening."

"Agreed. Now you and your servants may stay as our honored guests. Come this way to your rooms." the trader stopped the horse. "Hmm. I do not recall you owning a horse, Senator Chuchi. She is quite lovely."

"She is new." Chuchi said, and tried to come up with a code name for Carousella quickly.. "Come... Midnight."

Carousella whinnied and followed the senator.

Meanwhile, Remix and Gabby accompanied Chairman Papanoida and Ion to Tatooine. Only this time, Gabby happened to have sunblock with her, which she applied to herself and Remix.

"Trust me, you're gonna need it." Gabby said.

The group soon exited the ship.

"Be careful, everyone." Chairman Papanoida said. "The Hutts are the only law that matters on Tatooine."

"I don't scare easily." said Ion.

"No, but some of us burn easily." said Remix, already panting from the heat. "Even Roya's kingdom isn't this hot."

"That's what I said the first time I came here." Gabby said.

The Pantorans, the unicorn and the princess all entered Jabba the Hutt's palace.

"Where do we start?" Ion asked.

"We'll have to get a feel for the crowd." Chairman Papanoida said.

"I've been here before." Gabby said. "Shady characters tend to roam around here."

Gabby closed her eyes and started to concentrate through the Force. Sensing was about the only Force-related thing she could do, but it was something.

"Shouldn't we talk to Jabba directly?" Ion asked his father.

"No. Remember, we're not sure who's behind this kidnapping yet." said the chairman.

"Jabba could be involved, for all you know." Remix pointed out.

"Precisely."

"What if Greedo runs?" Ion asked.

"He wouldn't get far with me around." Gabby said. "And I don't mean like in a game of Tag."

"We'll let Greedo know we're here." said the chairman. "That way he'll come to us."

"How are we gonna do that?" Ion asked.

"Follow me. Gabriella, you and Remix stay here for your own protection."

So, Remix and Gabby stayed behind.

"I sure hope we can find those rings." Gabby said.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka was peeking into a room, where another Trade Federation worker was working on something. Ahsoka used the Force to make a decoration move, which distracted the worker, giving the Togruta and Senator Chuchi time to run into another room undetected, while Carousella swiftly flew in with Boba on her back.

The group came to a door.

"This is the ambassador's office." said Chuchi. "Maybe we'll find something here."

Just then, there came a voice.

"The Separatists are still recovering from their defeat..." the voice said.

"They're coming, hide." Chuchi whispered.

Carousella flew herself and Boba up to the ceiling, while Chuchi and Ahsoka hid under the table. And two Trade Federation leaders exited the room. Then, while they weren't looking, Carousella swiftly got into the room so she and Boba could search for the wedding rings.

"Alright, let's find those rings." whispered Carousella. "And be quiet."

The alicorn and the former bounty hunter searched the office. They checked on and under the desk, in the drawers, and even in a potted plant. No rings.

"They're not here." Boba whispered.

Then, Carousella remembered something.

"I just remembered a spell that could help." Carousella said. "It's one used to find gems. Since Padme's ring has gems on it, the spell will be able to tell us if they're on this ship."

The two quietly escaped the office and flew to the ceiling, where they came across Ahsoka using the Force to hold Chuchi up so the traders wouldn't find them. But while they were up there, they overheard that the daughters were indeed kidnapped, and at least one of them was on the ship.

"You see? The Trade Federation is behind the kidnapping." said Chuchi.

"Let's find the detention area." said Ahsoka. "Boba, any luck finding the rings."

"Nope." Boba shook his head. "No rings in the office."

Carousella made her horn glow to search for the rings.

"I'm not picking up any traces of gems anywhere nearby either." Carousella said. "Hopefully, Gabby and Remix are having better luck."

Greedo, meanwhile, was notified by his girlfriend, a Twilek, that Pantorans were there to see him.

"They must have found some evidence." said Greedo, grabbing his gun. "We'll have to settle things more permanently."

Meanwhile, someone was very nervous about the wedding. Despite already being married to Padme in secret from the public, Anakin was nervous about the ceremony. The first time he married Padme, it had been just R2-D2, C3-PO, and Gabby as their witnesses, and a reverend the couple happened to find who married them. It was fortunate that Padme happened to have a white lace outfit that resembled a wedding dress. Now, Anakin would get to profess his love for Padme in front of his friends, as well as a lot of important people. He was nervous about writing his vows.

"Padme, from the day we met, I..." Anakin started writing in a notepad, then quickly erased it before ripping out the paper and crumpling it up. "No, that's already been used so many times."

"Padme, my angel sent from heaven..." Anakin shook his head. "Too much or too little?"

That was when Obi-Wan came in.

"I'd say perhaps you're trying too hard." Obi-Wan said.

"What are you doing here?" Anakin asked.

"As your best man, it's my job to oversee that your wedding will go smoothly for you, is it not?" Obi-Wan smiled. "I heard you and Padme were gonna write your own vows. But it appears for one so talkative, you now are having trouble knowing what to say."

Anakin sighed and sat down.

"This wasn't a problem the first time I married Padme." Anakin groaned. "How is it that I fight battle droids, get shot at all the time, and face Count Dooku, but I can't come up with vows without feeling my stomach getting tied in knots?"

"While I am still adjusting to the new code allowing relationships, I do know that getting married is a nerve racking experience." Obi-Wan said. "And now everyone will know you are married. You won't have to worry about the children addressing you as their father in public, either."

"Yeah, and everyone will think I'm just a stepdad too." Anakin said.

Anakin had a stepfather himself, whom he didn't get to know very well before he and Anakin's mother passed away. He didn't even grow very close with his new stepbrother either. Despite that Anakin was the biological father of one child, as well as the adoptive father of the other, he still felt worried about his place as a parent. With everyone knowing that he was raising the children as his own, it added pressure to him proving he was a good father. Again, even though he wasn't really just their stepfather, he still feared what other people would think.

"I know the kids know I'm still their father," said Anakin. "But almost no one else does, and they can't know. What if I'm not good enough after all this time?"

This was a shock to Obi-Wan Kenobi. This was so unlike Anakin. Apparently, being allowed to love and have a family really had managed to change Anakin for the better. Now, he was more open and honest with his emotions.

"Anakin," said Obi-Wan. "I have never known you to doubt yourself, and you shouldn't start now. Since when do you care what anyone else thinks? Especially now. The rest of the Galaxy isn't marrying Padme or becoming a father to your kids. If anything, they're just jealous. Many high society men and senators wish they could have someone as beautiful and beloved as Padme as their bride, and I've seen how many women throw themselves at you the first chance they get. Padme loves you, Anakin, and so do both of your children. Boba doesn't need you to be biologically related to him to love you, and neither does Gabby. She loves so many people who aren't related to her and calls them her aunts and uncles. And from what she told me, before the code was changed, she didn't care what other people thought about who her father was, just like now. And Boba loves both you and Padme even though he's not related to either of you. All either of them cares about is having their parents together and being part of a loving family."

"And how am I supposed to write good vows, then?" Anakin asked.

"You've never been afraid to speak your mind, Anakin." said Obi-Wan. "For this case, I think it best that perhaps you speak from the heart."

Anakin smiled a bit, "Since when did you get so smart about romance?"

"Since I began courting Satine, I've gotten to learn a lot." Obi-Wan said. "Like you tell Ahsoka... experience is the best teacher. Speaking of her, where is Ahsoka?"

"She's... helping Padme." Anakin said. "You know, maid of honor business."

"What about the children? Are they helping as well?"

"No."

Anakin realized something then. He hadn't seen either of his kids in hours. He was so busy working on his vows, he didn't notice they were gone.

"That's weird." said Anakin. "I'd better go look for them."

Anakin got out from his room and called for his kids and the horses. None of them answered. Then he came across Peppermint.

"Peppermint? Have you seen Gabby, Boba, Carousella, or Remix anywhere?" Anakin asked.

"No, I haven't seen them all day." Peppermint said.

Anakin then decided to call Padme and asked her if the kids were with her. But she said they weren't.

"Ani, what's going on?" Padme asked, sounding worried.

"I don't know." Anakin said. "First Chairman Papanoida's daughters, now..."

Anakin got really worried now.

Meanwhile, Carousella and Boba managed to sneak Ahsoka and Chuchi into the detention area thanks to Carousella's flying. She had to let Boba hang from her front to carry all of them, but they made it in safely.

Greedo and two of his friends came to Chairman Papanoida and his son, and prepared to dispose of them.

"I don't want to die on this dust ball," said Ion.

"We won't have to." the chairman said.

Chairman Papanoida took out a knife and held it to Greedo's throat and made him accidentally fire his blaster. That caught Gabby and Remix's attention.

"We're going to talk to Jabba about this."

Meanwhile, Ahsoka, Chuchi, Boba, and Carousella, who changed her mane back to normal, were walking through the halls.

"Still no sign of the chairman's daughters or the rings." Carousella said.

"Can't you sense where they are?" Chuchi asked Ahsoka. "Isn't that something you Jedi can do?"

"It's not something I can just turn on or off." said Ahsoka.

"We'll just have to keep looking."

But the group didn't know that they were being watched.

On Tatooint, Chairman Papanoida confronted Jabba, who demanded to know why he tried to kill one of his bounty hunters.

"Great Jabba, my daughters have been kidnapped." the chairman explained. "As a father yourself, I know you understand that I will do anything to get them back safely."

Jabba looked at his son Rotta with love.

"Hi, Rotta. Remember me?" Gabby cooed to the little Huttlet.

"Is now the best time to coo over a baby?" Remix asked.

Gabby shook herself out of it. "You're right. I'm losing my focus."

"I have evidence that Greedo is responsible." said the chairman. "Which means that either you are behind it or Gredo is working for someone else. Sicne we are friends, Jabba, I know you would never do such a thing."

"No! No! He's lying!" Greedo said.

That was when Gabby trapped Greedo in a vine and held him upside-down.

"Then you won't mind if we take a test, will you?" Gabby said.

Jabba asked what evidence they had.

"We found blood at the scene of the crime." Chairman Papanoida said. "If it matches Greedo's, it will prove he is the kidnapper."

"And if he took the rings." Gabby added.

"What rings?" Greedo said, only for Gabby to bang his head on the floor, but not hard enough to knock him out.'

"I think you know very well which rings I'm talking about!"

"Jabba will allow a blood sample to be taken." said Jabba's protocol droid.

"Wait, wait, no!" Greedo said.

Gabby bashed Greedo's head on the floor again.

"Where did you put the daughters, and what did you do with the rings?! Tell me now!"

"Okay, okay! I kidnapped them. The Separatists wanted leverage against the Pantorans."

"And the rings?" Gabby asked.

"I took them too. I still have them." Greedo said. "They're in my pocket."

"Remix, search him."

Remix searched the Rodian's robes, and inside he found a velvet box. And this time, Gabby checked inside it.

"The rings!" Gabby exclaimed happily. "Wow, and they're even more beautiful in person."

Gabby put the rings into her bag. "That's one thing found. Now, the daughters."

"Where are they, you slime?" Chairman Papanoida demanded.

"One of them is here at Mos Eisley." Greedo answered. "She's safe, I assure you!"

"Take us there!" the chairman said.

"Now that we have the rings, we should get back before your parents start to worry." Remix said.

Gabby wanted to help the chairman, but she realized Remix was right. By now, her parents were probably wondering where she and Boba were. So, she and Remix rushed off to get back to the Jedi Temple. Except, when they got there, Anakin wasn't there.

Gabby and Remix looked for Anakin, but found Obi-Wan instead.

"Uncle Obi-Wan, have you seen Daddy anywhere?" Gabby asked.

"Where have you two been?" Obi-Wan asked. "And why are you two covered with sand and dust?"

"That's kind of a long story." Gabby said. "But have you seen my daddy?"

"He and Peppermint took off, looking for you and your brother." Obi-Wan said.

Using Peppermint's horseshoes to take them to Carousella, Anakin and Peppermint found themselves on the Trade Federation ship with Ahsoka and Senator Chuchi rescuing Chairman Papanoida's daughter Chi Eekway. And Boba and Carousella were there.

"Boba! Carousella!" Anakin exclaimed when he saw them.

"Master?" said Ahsoka.

"Dad? What are you doing here?" Boba asked.

"I should ask you the same thing." Anakin said. "Where are Gabby and Remix?"

"Probably still on Tatooine." Carousella said.

"What?!"

Boba and Carousella looked at each other, and decided it was time to tell him.

"The wedding rings got mixed up with another order, and then they got stolen." Boba said.

"Somehow, the jewelry store gave us a box that was for Chairman Papanoida." Carousella added. "And they got the rings, which were stolen when they daughters were."

"I'm taking both of you home." said Anakin. "When we find the others, we're gonna have a serious talk about you running off like this."

Luckily, since Carousella hadn't used her horseshoes yet, she was able to use them to take Boba, as well as Anakin and Peppermint back to the Temple, where to Anakin's relief, Gabby was. And they were even happier when Gabby showed them that she and Remix found the wedding rings.

"Wow, they're beautiful." Carousella said, astonished by the beautiful rings.

"Roya is definitely gonna win 'Best Designer' someday." Anakin said. "But you kids... running off without telling me is way off leash."

"It's not anything you wouldn't have done." Carousella said.

"Why didn't you just come to me when you found out the rings were missing?" Anakin asked.

"We didn't want you to worry." Gabby said. "We told the police, but we were worried it would take to long. And the jewelry store said it would take a month for them to remake the rings."

"I was afraid I'd get in trouble." Boba said. "You trusted me to be the ring bearer, and I didn't wanna be a disappointment by losing the rings."

"Actually, we both didn't wanna get in trouble." Gabby said. "I was the one who carried the bag and didn't even look inside until the next day."

Anakin sighed and said, "Kids, you're not a disappointment. Neither of you are. The rings going missing wasn't your fault. Besides, where the wedding is concerned, your mother and I would rather have the big day without rings than without either of you."

Anakin put a hand on each of his children's shoulders.

"Rings can always be replaced. Children can never be replaced. And the two of you are much more valuable than even the most precious jewels in all the Galaxy." Anakin said. "Besides, the wedding isn't about the rings, fancy outfits, or flowers. It's about Padme and I celebrating our love for each other, and all of us becoming a new family."

Anakin hugged both of his children.

As it turned out, things took a turn for the better, as Chairman's Papanoida's daughters were both rescued, and the Trade blockade on Pantora was lifted. Now, only one more matter remained: the wedding of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala.
