A Jedi Wedding Part 3: The Wedding

This was it. The big day the whole Galaxy had been waiting for. The event everyone deemed the "royal wedding" between former queen of Naboo Senator Padme Amidala and famous Hero with No Fear Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker.

Reporters surrounded the area outside the church as many carriages and crafts arrived, dropping off well-dressed guests who entered the church. No one but them got past security. It was extremely secure, given how many paparazzi tried to sneak in to get the picture of the ten million credit kiss.

Inside a dressing room, Anakin was looking in the mirror, doing some last-minute fixing on his jacket, making sure he had no stray hairs flying around. Obi-Wan was helping Boba fix his tie as Remix brushed his hair.

"I think your hair is getting longer." Remix commented.

"Really?" Boba asked.

"Those new hair products work wonders."

Anakin was taking some deep breaths to calm down.

"Nervous?" Obi-Wan smiled.

"What makes you think that?" Anakin said.

"Well, you haven't been entirely focused on the stain on your jacket."

"Stain?! Where?!"

Anakin looked at his jacket for the... apparently non-existent stain. He glared at Obi-Wan, who laughed with Rex and said, "Anakin, relax. The wedding will go perfectly fine. Everyone has worked very hard to make this day as special as possible for you and Padme."

"I still can't believe this day is here," said Anakin, still a bit nervous.

"Nothing to be nervous about," said Obi-Wan.

"Have you popped the question to Satine yet?" Anakin teased.

"We haven't even been together a year yet."

"Still, you'll feel the same way when you're the one waiting at the altar for the woman you love."

There came a knock at the door, and General Mareheart stepped in.

"Gentlemen, I just came to let you know that the perimeter has been secured."

"Thanks, Uncle Armorous." Remix said.

"You all look very distinguished, by the way." the alicorn general said before he left.

Meanwhile, the girls were all getting ready in their dressing room.

Ryoo and Pooja each wore a green dress with a matching bow on the side and a crown of purple flowers, while Gabby wore a blue dress and wore a crown of white and blue flowers, which had originally been intended for her when she was the ring bearer. The bridesmaid each wore a sleeveless cerulean blue gown, and Ahsoka wore one as well, but with little pearl beads embroidered into it.

Satine helped Padme with her hair as she sat at the vanity in her robe.

"You look so lovely, Padme." Satine said. "Master Skywalker is a very lucky man."

"Thank you, Satine." Padme smiled. "One day I hope you and Obi-Wan will be as happy as Anakin and I are together."

"One can only hope he pops the question."

"Uncle Obi-Wan is still adjusting to the changes." said Gabby. "But I know he'll ask you to marry him someday. And when he does, remember Roya is a great designer. The dresses we're all wearing are literally physical proof."

Many of Padme's friends from the Senate, the Jedi Council, Padme's family, and the royal families from Mythiria were all in attendance for the wedding. Everyone was dressed to their best. Even the Jedi allowed Roya to spruce them up a little to help them look their absolute best for the big day. This being the first ever Jedi wedding since the Code was modified, they had to look their best.

General Mareheart and his brother Captain Serenado Mareheart, Remix's father, stood at the doors as extra security. Serenado listened in his earpiece and got the all clear from the rest of security. Serenado nodded to his brother, who then tapped on the door with his back hoof to signal everyone behind it that it was time for the ceremony to commence.

The doors slowly opened, and in first came Carousella, her horn unleashing beautiful pipe organ music (Wedding Canon in D Minor- Pure Pianogonia version) as she walked gracefully down the aisle, wearing a beautiful blue saddle decorated with flowers and gems, and behind her came Rex and Obi-Wan. Then, Anakin stepped in and slowly made his way down the aisle. He held his head high and tried not to look nervous as he noticed all the important guests who sat in the audience. How he wished his mother could've been there, walking with him. But, thinking of her helped him settle down, as he knew she was watching him now, and he could feel her spirit nearby as he walked up onto the altar.

Carousella took a place by Harmony where all the musical instruments sat, while Anakin stood at the altar with his best man and groomsman. Then, the bridesmaids made their entrance. Sola, as the bride's sister, entered first. Then Satine, and then Ahsoka, the maid of honor entered last. Each of them held a bouquet of blue roses, chosen by none other than Wysteria, as they walked down the aisle, and each took her place at the altar. Then, in came Boba. He took a deep breath and began walking down the aisle with the rings on the pillow just like they practiced. In his head, Boba reminded himself to be calm and steady; this was the real thing, and these rings were the treasure he had to protect until it was time to give them. And, happily, he made it to the groom's side at the altar without dropping the rings.

Then, it was time for the adorable flower girls. The room was filled with aaww's as Gabby, Ryoo, and Pooja entered the room, the youngest child in front. Gabby and her cousins skipped down the aisle, sprinkling petals across the carpet, and little pink buds grew at the sides of everyone's seats, to everyone, including the groom and wedding party's surprise. The three girls took their place by Ahsoka's side, and then the doors closed.

Carousella waited three seconds before stopping the organ music, then she signaled Harmony that it was her cue. (The version I imagine is the orchestral version of Bridal Chorus by APM Wedding Players

Harmony tapped her hoof two times, then began conducting. She first conducted some trumpets to play a beautiful fanfare, and then for some timpani drums, and violins to join in. Harmony increased the dynamic slightly, and the whole audience stood up as the doors opened to reveal Padme.

Anakin couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Padme in the gorgeous dress Roya designed. Padme held a bouquet of pink roses, blue peonies, and white crocuses. Her hair was down in beautiful curls, topped with a crown of blue flowers to match with the ones embroidered in her dress, and a sparkling veil hung from it. Anakin felt his smile grow as he watched Padme being walked down the aisle by her father. And the pink buds grew into beautiful tulips as Padme passed them by.

Padme's smile also grew as she walked toward Anakin, and she gave her father a kiss before letting her go to step up onto the altar to stand in front of her groom. She handed her bouquet to Ahsoka, and Padme and Anakin joined hands as everyone sat down, and the preacher began the ceremony.

"Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to witness and to celebrate the marriage of Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker to Senator Padme Amidala. Two of the Galaxy's most beloved figures, today come together as one. Each comes from a different world most would assume could never come together, but today make a change as one becomes the first Jedi ever to marry, and the other the first politician to marry a renowned Jedi Knight. Never before has there been a love so deep, so powerful, so strong as to defy all things that would have tried to keep these two apart."

Anakin and Padme looked into each other's eyes with no other expression but love. Neither of them could believe this day was finally here. It was like a dream come true. Here and now, they would be able to make their vows in front of all their closest friends and family, and declare their love for each other to the Galaxy. However, they didn't know that someone was intent on stopping the wedding, and he was running as fast as he could.

Surprise, surprise, it was Senator Clovis. Apparently, he couldn't take a hint that Padme didn't share his feelings, nor would he accept that she was getting married today. And with the guests arriving for the big day, traffic was terrible, so he started going the rest of the way on foot. Admittedly, it was a noble gesture that a man would run a thousand miles to profess his feelings for the woman he loved, but in this case, it was not since the bride moved on and was already getting a loving family in her marriage.

"The couple has elected to write their own vows." The preacher said. "Padme. You may begin."

Padme held Anakin's hands dearly and began her vows.

"Ani, I've known you since we were children. I was queen of Naboo, and you had just become a Jedi. All those years ago, I wouldn't have guessed that we would be standing here today." Padme said, a little nervous still, but she smiled and continued. "You've saved me many times over the years from many dangers, and you were even there to help me take care of my daughter when she was born so I wouldn't have to raise her alone. And when we adopted Boba, I couldn't imagine a life without them or you. You make me and our children so happy. No matter how tough any battle gets, you always find the time to let us know how much you love us. And I love you Anakin, more than words could ever describe. The galaxy may see you as a hero for fighting in the clone war and being a powerful Jedi, but the greatest deeds of heroism you've ever done in my eyes is being a wonderful father and husband even before this day."

Many tears were shed as Padme gave her heartfelt vows, and then it was Anakin's turn.

"I felt terrified coming up with my vows for today. For so long, I worried about what the right words were, or thought I had to sound like I had the soul of a poet or something. But, a wise man told me to speak from the heart. And Padme, my heart tells me, that I want to give my vow to someone else that I love."

People gasped and became curious at that. But then, Anakin continued.

"There are in fact two others I love, and those two are a couple of very special children. Gabby, Boba. Would you step forward?"

Anakin had both his kids step in front of him.

"Gabby. Boba. It doesn't matter to me whether we're biologically related or not. I couldn't have asked for two better children to call my own. I love your mother, and I love each of you too. So today, I'm making a vow to both of you. A vow to always love each of you the same, to take care of you, and always be your father as I have worked to be since the day each of you came into my life. Being able to call you my children will be the greatest wedding present I'll receive today and always cherish."

Hearts were really filled with love and joy as Anakin placed a kiss on each child's head after he gave that heartfelt vow to the two of them. The kids returned to their spots, and Anakin smiled as he held his bride's hands dearly.

"As for you, Padme... I couldn't imagine a more perfect woman if I tried. Never in my life have I met a woman with your courage, strength, and most of all a big, kind heart to match with your undeniable beauty. From the day we met, something inside me told me we were meant to be. And I would give up being the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy, as well as having any Jedi powers if it meant I could be with you. You are truly an angel sent from heaven. And I will forever be honored to call you my wife."

Outside, Clovis had just found his way to the church. But there were so many guards there was no way he'd get in, but he figured he had to try. And as expected, the guards refused to let him through.

"I'm sorry, Sir. But you may not enter." The guard said. "This wedding is invitation only."

"Please, you don't understand." Clovis begged. "She's marrying the wrong man!"

"We were warned about you, Clovis." said another guard.

"Padme should be marrying me."

Clovis tried again, but they threw him down the stairs in front of the church, and he nearly got a concussion.

And while that was going on...

"May we have the rings?" said the preacher.

Boba stepped up and raised the pillow with the wedding rings. The bride and groom each took one ring. Anakin went first. He held up the beautiful ring.

"With this ring," said Anakin, placing it on Padme's finger. "I, Anakin Gabriel Skywalker, marry you, Padme, and hereby pledge my everlasting love, honor, and loyalty to you."

Clovis kept trying to fight his way through, but more guards came along and pushed him back... until Clovis managed to slip away and get inside the door.

"We got a breach!" A clone said into his communicator. "All guards on high alert!"

Padme held up the other ring and slid it onto Anakin's finger.

"With this ring," said Padme. "I, Padme Julianna Naberrie-Amidala, marry you, Anakin, and hereby pledge my everlasting love, honor, and loyalty to you."

"Do you, Anakin Skywalker, take Padme Amidala as your lawfully wedded wife, to care for and honor through good times and bad, to love and to cherish until death do you part?" The preacher said.

"I do." Anakin smiled.

"And do you, Padme Amidala, take Anakin Skywalker as your lawfully wedded husband, to care for and honor through good times and bad, to love and to cherish until death do you part?"

"I do." Padme smiled, looking into Anakin's eyes.

Clovis hurried and ran as fast as he could to get to the wedding hall.

General and Captain Mareheart each got an alert in their earpieces that Clovis was headed for the wedding. So, Armorous, being the strongest, boarded the doors with his body, while Seranado magically sealed them shut with the magic from his horn.

Clovis tried to open the door, but they wouldn't budge. And thanks to Serenado's spell, no one could hear Clovis shouting for Padme not to marry Anakin.

"If anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace." said the preacher.

"Me! I object!" Clovis shouted, and then he was tackled.

"No one can hear you in there, Clovis." Crescent said, and more guards came to apprehend the would-be wedding crasher.

"By the power vested in me," said the preacher. "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Anakin and Padme smiled dearly at each other as they heard those words.

Anakin wrapped his arms around Padme's waist, Padme wrapping hers around his shoulders. They each closed their eyes and leaned forward. It felt like an eternity to them until their lips finally touched and they shared the most passionate kiss the galaxy had ever seen. Then, magically, an archway of red roses appeared as they kissed, and butterflies flew all around, and the crowd cheered for the happy couple. There was hardly a dry eye to be seen.

Not even members of the Jedi Council could keep themselves from crying.

"Mace, are you crying?" Kit asked.

"No! I just got something in my eye." Mace said, trying to deny he was crying. But it was useless as he blew his nose into a handkerchief.

Anakin and Padme continued to kiss each other deeper and more passionately with every passing second.

"I guess all that practice really paid off." Gabby whispered to her cousins as her parents finally pulled apart.

Anakin and Padme gently touched foreheads as they lovingly embraced one another.

"I love you, Ani." Padme sighed happily.

"I love you, Padme, my angel." sighed Anakin.

And the Jedi Knight closed his eyes, leaning into another kiss with his now no longer secret wife.

And outside, Clovis was fraught with dismay as he was dragged away by the guards, and because he was too late.

The church bells rang, and cameras flashed as Padme and Anakin walked out of the church together with their children, introducing for the first time to the entire galaxy the Skywalker family. And as people flashed their cameras the newly-weds looked at each other.

"Should we give them what they want?" Anakin asked.

"I have the sense it's more what you want, no matter who's around." Padme smiled, knowing exactly what her husband meant.

And Padme and Anakin finally kissed publicly for the first time as an officially married couple. Until their kids wanted a little love.

"I want a kiss too." Gabby said.

Anakin held Gabby in his free arm and gave her a kiss on her cheek, and Boba got a kiss on his cheek from Padme. They all lost count of how much kissing was done in that one day, but in that special moment, the Skywalker family felt that they couldn't be happier.
