Two Families & A Doresho Gypsy
Meanwhile, Sapphire, Carousella, and Peppermint, all soon came to make a safe landing on Coruscant.
"Another happy landing." said Obi-Wan with a smile. And this time, it truly was a happy landing, because with the horses, there were no crashes.
Later, the Jedi and the Chancellor were picked up in another ship and brought to the Senate building.
"Terribly sorry for all the trouble you had to witness, little one." said Obi-Wan. "Perhaps it's time for a proper introduction. I am Obi-Wan Kenobi, you've met Anakin and Gabriella Skywalker."
"And these are our horses." Anakin introduced. "Sapphire Beauty, Carousella Mareheart, and Peppermint Twist."
Rosella was still a bit scared being surrounded by all these strange people. But when everyone else introduced themselves, she started to feel a little more comfortable.
"Don't worry, Rosella." said Obi-Wan. "You're safe now."
"We're gonna take you back to your family." Peppermint promised. "They miss you a lot."
"I miss them." Rosella said, sounding like she'd cry.
"No, no, no. Don't cry. It's gonna be okay."
Peppermint made a little lollipop with her magic for Rosella.
Rosella couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the colorful horses alone before. But her mind was blown when she saw a real unicorn magically make a treat just for her. Rosella sucked on the sweet treat the whole rest of the ride. It tasted so good.
"Caballos don't talk or make candy back at my home." Rosella said. "Or have magic."
"Well, that's what makes our two worlds different." Carousella said.
"You should see how much of a blast your sister has had learning about our technology." Obi-Wan chuckled.
"Mila's the best inventor ever!"
"So we've heard and seen." Anakin said. "And I have to admit, you're pretty strong in your powers."
Rosella blushed in shame.
"Sorry if I hurt you." she winced.
"Hey, don't sweat it." Anakin shook his head. "You couldn't help it. You were under a spell."
"Apparently one that made you listen to this guy." Carousella said, nudging a still unconscious Dooku with her hoof. She checked his pulse. He was still alive.
"Maybe you knocked him out a little too hard." Peppermint said.
"Carousella's a royal guard." Gabby explained to Rosella. "She was the best in her class when she was only eight years old."
"Why can they talk? Why are they so colorful?" Rosella asked.
"They're from a magical place called Equinaro."
"There are lots of ponies who look like us." Sapphire said. "Some have wings, some don't."
"Some have a horn," said Peppermint. "Others don't. And some don't have wings or a horn. We also have centaurs."
"Oh! That's a person with a horse body, right?" Rosella guessed. "Mila and Cousin Luisa showed me Greek mythology stories."
"Yes, that's what a centaur is." Anakin said. "You're smart just like Mila."
"Many of us also have special powers." Carousella said, making music from her horn. "Like this. I'm a musicorn, which means I make music with my magic."
"I'm a candy-corn." said Peppermint. "As you can see, I make candy."
"And I am a jewel pegasus." Sapphire said. "I have a magical gem in place of a horn that can do many magical tricks, and my greatest is spreading beauty."
Gabby poked Dooku with a stick, he made no movements.
"Wow, Carousella really knocked him out cold." she said.
"I did once knock out another recruit for an entire week." Carousella said. "It could be a while before he wakes up. Let's just hope he doesn't wake up thinking he's a cat."
"Did that happen to the last person you knocked out?" Anakin said.
"No, they thought they were Sherlock Holmes for three days. My brother was the one who thought he was a cat after he got hit during one of our training sessions."
The thought of a horse acting like a cat made everyone laugh.
Pretty soon, the ship arrived at the Senate building.
The chancellor was first to exit. Then, Anakin exited after the girls, Carousella, Sapphire, and R2 did. But Obi-Wan and Peppermint stayed behind.
"Are you coming, Master?" Anakin asked.
"Oh, no. I'm not brave enough for politics." said Obi-Wan. "I have to report to the council. Besides, someone needs to be the poster boy."
"And as a royal, people look up to you, Prince Charming." Peppermint teased.
"You're a prince?" Rosella gasped. The being royalty thing was one thing Gabby and Anakin didn't tell her yet.
"Long story." Anakin said. "And besides, Obi-Wan, this whole operation was your idea."
"Let us not forget, Anakin that you rescued me from the buzz droids." Obi-Wan reminded his brother. "And you defeated Count Dooku, and you rescued the chancellor carrying Dooku unconscious on your back."
"All because of your training." Anakin said.
"Anakin, let's be fair. Today you were the hero, and you deserve your glorious day with the politicians."
"All right." Anakin sighed. "But you owe me one, and not for saving your skin for the 10th time."
"Ninth time." Obi-Wan corrected. "That business on Cato Neimoidia doesn't, doesn't count."
"What about that time Daddy had to help you when you got trapped in those Halloween decorations?" Gabby pointed out.
"Untangling someone from fake spider webs and streamers hardly qualifies as saving one's skin." Obi-Wan said, still embarrassed by that one incident. "I'll see you at the briefing."
Chancellor Palpatine was met by a few other Senate members, as well as Mace Windu.
"Chancellor Palpatine, are you alright?" asked Mace.
"Yes." said Palpatine. "Thanks to your two Jedi Knights. They've apprehended Count Dooku, but General Grievous, I believe, has escaped once again."
"General Grievous will run and hide, as he always does. He's a coward."
"But with Count Dooku in custody, he is the leader of the droid army. And I assure you, the senate will vote to continue the war as long as Grievous is alive."
"Then the Jedi Council will make finding Grievous our highest priority."
"The Republic cannot praise you enough." said Bail Organa.
"Thank you, Senator Organa."
Bail then noticed Anakin was carrying another cute little girl.
"Who is this little one?"
"This is Rosella Madrigal. We rescued her from Grievous. She's got powers of her own, which the Separatists kidnapped her for, hoping to use her for their personal gain."
"They probably thought it would even the playing field because the Senate has two magical little girls on their side right now." Gabby said.
"Yeah, that's our theory. Right now, we're gonna get Rosella back to her family, but the fighting will continue until Grievous is spare parts."
"Well, I will do everything I can in the senate." Organa promised.
Just then, Anakin heard someone calling him.
Anakin looked and was happy to see his wife was there.
"Excuse me, Senator."
Anakin set Rosella down and immediately ran to embrace his wife, kissing her dearly.
"Oh, Anakin." Padme smiled.
"I've missed you, Padme." Anakin sighed, kissing her once more, and then affectionately caressing her stomach. "How's the little one doing?"
"Growing just fine." Padme chuckled.
Gabby hugged her mother from below.
"I missed you, Mommy." Gabby said.
"I missed you too, Gabby." Padme said, kissing her daughter's head.
Anakin looked at Rosella and realized Padme hadn't met her yet.
"Oh, Rosella, this is my wife Padme." Anakin introduced. "Padme, this is Rosella Madrigal."
"She's the girl Grievous took. But we rescued her, and we found out how to free Lady Morpha's victims." Gabby then looked at her mother's stomach; it looked like it grew. "How do you feel, Mommy?"
"I feel fine. Thank you." Padme said.
"She's having a baby very soon." Gabby told Rosella.
"You want to take a listen?"
The two girls both gently placed an ear on Padme's stomach. They could hear a little heartbeat.
But then Anakin realized something.
"Where's the rest of the family?"
"They're back on Naboo, staying safe." Padme said. "I'll be heading back there too. But I had to see you first."
Anakin smiled and kissed his wife once more.
"We'll be joining you there... but first." Anakin picked up Rosella again. "We've got another family to reunite."
Bruno was first to rush like the wind to the hangar when he heard Anakin was on his way to the Temple and Rosella had been rescued. Mila, of course, ran too. Mirabel literally stopped in the middle of sewing when she heard the words 'Rosella' and 'rescued' in the same sentence. Pedro also ran like the wind, ecstatic to reunite with his twin sister.
"You're not joking, right?" Camilo panted. "They really found Rosella?"
"Si. That's what Gabby told me." Mila said as they turned a corner, nearly running into some other Jedi on the way.
"Sorry!" Mirabel exclaimed.
"Watch out! Family reunion coming through!" Mila shouted to get others to move out of the way.
And soon the Madrigals did arrive at the hangar just as Anakin exited the ship with Rosella in his arms. The second the Madrigals saw Rosella safe and sound, they froze for a moment. Bruno was first to break out of his trance with a big smile on his face.
"Rosella!" Bruno exclaimed, running to his daughter.
"Papi!" Rosella exclaimed happily, jumping out from Anakin's arms and running right into her father's.
Bruno spun Rosella around happily, shouting in Spanish how happy he was to have her back.
"Rosella, mi vida. I was so worried about you!" Bruno said, kissing his youngest daughter so many times, happy tears falling. "I'm so happy you're safe."
"Hermanita. Come here!" Mila cried, taking a turn hugging Rosella.
"Mila!" Rosella hugged her big sister tightly, and Mila let their cousins have a turn too.
Pedro was the last one to hug Rosella. He embraced his sister like there was no tomorrow.
"I missed you so much." Pedro sighed, crying. "I thought we'd never see you again."
"I was scared I'd never see you again too." Rosella cried.
Chika barked and ran around Rosella happily.
"Chika!" Rosella laughed as the poodle started licking her.
The Madrigals couldn't be happier now that they had Rosella back. And they couldn't be more thankful to the Jedi for rescuing her.
Bruno hugged Anakin tightly, to the Jedi's surprise. But, he returned the hug.
"Gracias. Thank you so much." Bruno said. "How can we ever repay you?"
"Knowing Rosella is safe with you is good enough." Anakin said, picking up his own daughter. "I know for a fact that being away from the ones you love... to say it's nerve racking, heartbreaking, or just terrifying... any of those would be an understatement."
That was when Chika jumped on Anakin and started licking him like crazy.
"Chika! Down!" Anakin said, spitting as Chika kept licking him.
"Chika just wants to say thank you too." Mila chuckled.
"All we gotta do now is find a way to get you home." Gabby said.
That was when Gabby's phone suddenly rang. She answered it and found it was Qui-Gon.
"Hi, Grandpa." Gabby said, switching to holo-transmitting. "We're gonna head to Naboo right now."
"Good, but there's another situation at hand." Qui-Gon said.
"Is Lady Morpha attacking?" Gabby looked panicked.
"No. No. Actually...our guests have some friends who've arrived."
The Madrigals were confused... until Alicia came into view.
"Alicia?!" Bruno gasped. "How did you get here?"
"We made another magic mirror." Antonio said.
"Antonio?" Camilo exclaimed.
"Apparently," said Qui-Gon. "They suddenly came through one of the mirrors in the palace and ended up here."
Mirabel suddenly had an idea.
"Then that means we can use it to get back home, right?" she suggested.
"Unfortunately, the mirror fell over just after Antonio and his jaguar came out."
"I didn't know he was following me." Antonio defended.
"The mirror breaking was actually my bad." Luisa said, entering the transmission.
"Luisa!" Mirabel gasped.
Anakin and Gabby looked at each other.
"Looks like we've got work to do." said Anakin.
The Madrigals were brought onto a ship that would take them and the Skywalkers to the palace on Naboo.
They couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the Skywalker-Jinn family's new home.
"Your home is tan hermoso. So beautiful," said Mirabel.
"And muy grande too." Camilo said. "It's bigger than our entire Casita."
"Well, we just moved in." Gabby said. "We have to get used to it ourselves."
Everyone exited the ship and was escorted inside of the palace.
Mirabel was ecstatic to be reunited with her sisters. Antonio tackled his big brother in a big hug, and Bruno did not hesitate to give his wife a big, passionate kiss.
"I was so worried about you." Alicia sighed, kissing her husband once more.
"Mami!" the twins exclaimed, running into their mother's arms, receiving lots of kisses.
The Madrigals were all introduced to the royal family members some of them hadn't met yet, of course. They were all, of course, worried. They'd managed to make two portals, but both were destroyed in their home worlds. How could they get back home now?
"I don't get it." said Mila. "When we went through the first portal, we ended up on a ship. But when Mami, Luisa, Antonio, and Isabela took the second one, it brought them here."
"I wish ours had brought us here instead of being shot at." Camilo said.
Alicia nearly fainted when she heard that.
"Camilo!" Bruno, Mirabel, and Mila scolded.
"Now, now, everyone." Qui-Gon said calmly. "I'm sure we can figure this out."
Boba looked at Gabby. "Wasn't there anything about portals in your magic books?"
"Yes, there was." Gabby said. "But... building a portal is one thing. Making it lead to a specific place is another."
"What do you mean?" Mirabel said.
"Well, how did you make the portal the first time?" Gabby asked.
"Well... first Rosella sang it to shatters," said Mila. "Then I used some sand, a fixing solution I invented, and my Tia Pepa's lightning to mend it. Then, next thing we know, Grievous comes through it after it somehow turned into a magic gateway."
"Maybe it has something to do with the fact that their family is magical." Boba hypothesized.
"Perhaps it does." Qui-Gon said.
"This is gonna take a bit of research," said Gabby. "And with Lady Morpha on the loose and enslaving most of our Enchanted friends or leaving them in hiding, we have to handle this ourselves."
"Well, what are we gonna do while we're stuck here?" Isabela wondered out loud.
"For now, you're all welcome to stay here until we can get you back home." Qui-Gon said. He called over some of the servants and ordered them to set up some temporary quarters for their guests.
That night, Anakin looked at Padme as she gazed into the beautiful nighttime sky.
"Ani, this is where I want to have our baby." Padme said. "Here on Naboo. Where they'll be safe, away from the war. And they and our children can grow up safe and happy."
Anakin looked at his wife with no other expression but love. He wrapped his arms around her and looked into her eyes.
"Our children will grow safe and happy. I couldn't be there while you were expecting Gabby, and I've regretted it so much that you had to rely on others to take care of you. But now that everyone knows we're a family... I can be here to help prepare for the little guy... or girl." Anakin smiled and kissed his wife. "I could always find out."
"Ani..." Padme scolded.
"Kidding. Kidding." Anakin chuckled. "But no matter what, I'm gonna be here for you, Padme. For our baby too. And I will love both of you just as much as the day Gabby and Boba each came into our lives."
Padme and Anakin kissed each other again and soon went off to bed.
Boba, however, lay in his bed, worried.
There was a Doresho moth on the loose, General Grievous was still at large, and his girlfriend was hiding on Planet Escuela now, so he couldn't see her. His birthday was also just four months away, and the baby was due sometime around then too. So much was changing around his home and with his family.
Boba looked at his family photos again, he wasn't sure how he was going to adjust to all these new changes, or how long it would be until the Galaxy was a peaceful place for everyone.
