The Family Jedi Magical
(Welcome Readers to the First Chapter of My second "Legend of the Jedi Princess" story "A Skywalker-Jinn Miracle." If you haven't read my first Clone Wars Story "Legend of the Jedi Princess: Enchanted Jedi Rise" or my Encanto fanfic "Wonder & the Miracle," I suggest you read each of those before delving into this story to fully understand it. I only own my OC's, nothing from Encanto or Star Wars)
It was a very special day on Naboo: a coronation day. But it wasn't the coronation of a new king or queen. Rather, it was the first in Naboo history, the crowning of its first crown princess Gabriella Rosella Amidala-Skywalker, born to former Queen Padme Amidala, now a senator and named Padme Skywalker as she was married to Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, the father of her daughter, which no one else knew as of yet. But, much to the shock and confusion of everyone who did know, Young Gabriella decided it was time everyone knew. The war was very close to ending, and rumors were continuing to spread about who Gabby's father was.
Gabby knew it was a huge risk to tell the Galaxy she was the daughter of a Jedi, but with Anakin gaining almost the same powers as her, and everyone now knowing he had a twin brother and a niece who also had magic, it became clear people were starting to suspect something. So, she decided that once she got her crown, she would start a speech asking everyone to listen to her and her family to get the whole story. And, tonight was a pretty big deal because it was also her sixth birthday.
The family who raised Young Gabriella was a pretty wonderful bunch, and had two family names: Skywalker and Jinn, the first one being the one Gabby kept. Even though technically she was a Jinn, Skywalker was the name of her late grandmother, and she and her father wanted to keep that part of her with them. There was also another family who lived with them: the Marehearts, three magical horses sent for the three children in the Skywalker and Jinn families. And, Anakin Skywalker had a horse of his own as well: the very lovely Sapphire Beauty.
But, out of all the family members, there was one who was much different than all the rest: Anakin and Padme's son and Gabby's older brother Boba, the only adopted child in the family. He didn't have powers like his father, his grandfather, or any other biological family member, nor did he come from royalty like his mother.
Early that morning, twelve-and-a-half-year-old Boba got up and helped set the table for breakfast before the final preparations would be done for the coronation. A few Equinaro ponies came to help too, so he got a little help from Fiesta, Remix, and Harmony setting up for breakfast.
Boba opened a window as some local children came by and waved hello.
"Hey, when's the crowning happen?" A little girl asked.
"My sister's coronation is tonight," said Boba.
"Is her crown magical like her?" asked another girl.
"We'll find out tonight."
"What's your power?" asked a boy.
"Who's asking?" Boba asked.
"Us!" the three kids said in unison.
"Well, 'us,' I can't just talk about myself. I'm only part of the amazing magical Jedi family." Boba said, looking at a family photo that was set on the table.
"Who are the magical Jedi?" the kids asked.
"You're not gonna leave me alone, are you?" Boba smiled. "Ponies, a little help here?"
And the musicorns got ready to play some music, and Boba burst into a little song of his own.
Boba: Harmony
Remix
Fiesta
Let's go
Boba rushed up and started knocking the doors of the rooms his family was staying in to get them to wake up.
The magic Jedi
They're a whole new generation
So full of music
A rhythm of its own design
Boba entered Gabby's room and kissed her head, and she woke up and so did Carousella.
This is my family
A perfect constellation
So many stars and everybody gets to shine
Boba passed by Qui-Gon as he was getting in some morning exercise before breakfast
Whoa
But let's be clear, that Qui-Gon runs this show, whoa
He was revived just one whole year ago, whoa
And every day our family blessings grow
There's just a lot you've simply got to know, so
The family was soon out to meet the people of Naboo before the coronation, and so Gabby could get some last minute finalizations done.
Welcome to the Jedi magical
We are Skywalkers and the Jinns (we're on our way)
Where all the people are fantastical and magical
I'm part of a family of Jedi
Kids: Oh my gosh, it's them
What are their powers? (Girl: I can't remember all the gifts!)
But I don't know who is who
Boba: (chuckling) Alright, alright, relax
Girl 1: It is physically impossible to relax!
Girl 2: Tell us everything, what are your powers?
Boy: (holding a cup of coffee) Just tell us what everyone can do
Boba had no idea why a seven-year-old had coffee, but he could see this kid clearly had more than enough.
Boba: And that's why coffee's for grown-ups
Boba led the kids with him and introduced them to everyone in his family that they passed by through town.
My Uncle Carmine
His song can do many things
To make some changes
All he has to do is sing
And here's a secret
He works with Count Crescendo
He taught him how to dance and sing and he can hit high notes
Oh! And that's my dad Anakin, here's his power, whoa
The truth is, he can grow big trees and flowers, whoa
He likes to show it off so much you know
Anakin pulled Boba over and ruffled up his hair.
If you're impressed, imagine how I feel, Dad!
Boba fixed his hair and continued on his way
Welcome to the Jedi Magical
The home Skywalkers and the Jinns
Boba dodged some people moving something.
(Hey, coming through)
I know it sounds a bit fantastical and magical
But I'm part of the Family of Jedi
And Boba finally got introduce two special women in the family.
Two girls fell in love with Family of Jedi
And now they're part of the Family of Jedi
Aunt Caroline, she married Carmine
And my mom married Anakin
That's how Qui-Gon became a grandfather Jedi
(Let's go, let's go!)
That was when a couple other family members joined in.
Carmine: We swear to always
Help those around us
And earn the miracles
That somehow found us
Anakin: Our kids keep growing
The world keeps turning
But work and dedication will keep our miracle burning
Anakin & Carmine: And each new generation must keep the miracle burning
Gabby and Lamenta passed by as they grew flowers, riding on Carousella and Crescent.
Boy: Wait, who's a sister and who's a cousin?
Girl 1: There's so many people and ponies too
Girl 2: How do you keep them all straight?
Boba Okay, okay, okay, okay
So many kids in our house
So, let's turn the sound up, you know why?
I think it's time for a grandkid round up
(Grandkid round up)
Cousin Lamenta can light up dark nights
Remix makes music
And Carousella does that too
My sis and grandpa
Gabriella and Qui-Gon.
One strong, one graceful
Perfect in every way
(Gabriella)
Gabby spun around and grew some flowers, made some butterflies appear, and even made a rainbow appear.
Lots of powers to drive you wild
(Gabriella)
She's a perfect golden child
Boba and the kids found themselves on a platform of crates filled with decorations for the coronation, which was lifted up by Qui-Gon and his super strength. Who carefully set them down so they could get off.
(Qui-Gon! Qui-Gon!)
And my grandpa's super strong
The beauty and the brawn do no wrong
Boba then got the kids off the platform so the family could get to work.
That's life with the Jedi magical (whoa)
Now you know the Jedi Magical (whoa)
Where all the people are fantastical and magical (whoa)
That's who we are in the Family of Jedi, adiós!
Boba was about to leave to catch up with his family, but then found another kid in front of him.
Boy: But what's your power?
Boba didn't know what to say, so he motioned for Remix to play some music again, and he did.
Boba: Well, I gotta go, the life of a Jedi's child (whoa)
But now you all know the Jedi Magical (whoa)
I never meant this to get autobiographical (whoa)
So just to review the Family of Jedi
Let's go
Boba tried to get away from the kids, but they kept following him and asking what power he had. Apparently, not everyone, namely the youngest generations, knew of Boba's origins.
It starts with my grandpa
And then Uncle Carmine, he handles the music (Kids: but what about you, Boba?)
My dad Anakin can make a plant grow if you ask him to do it (Kids: but what about you, Boba?)
My mom Padme, well
She's a senator and she does well (Kids: but what about you, Boba?)
Hey, you said you wanna know what everyone does
I got a sister, a cousin and (Kids: Boba)
My sister Gabriella won't stop until she makes you smile today (Kids: Boba)
My cousin Lamenta can see what you're dreaming a mile away (Kids: Boba)
Boba noticed Crescent and hoped he could distract the kids for a bit, then he got onto Remix and had him run back to the palace, but somehow the kids caught up to them.
Boba: Look, it's Lamenta's pony Crescent, hey
He's fast and strong and a super good flyer (Kids: Boba)
Between you and me, he's a really bad liar
Yo, I've said too much and thank you but I really gotta go (Kids: Boba)
Boba: My family's amazing (Kids: Boba)
And I'm in my family, so (Kids: Boba)
Well
"Boba," a voice called. Boba looked into the palace to see Obi-Wan, who was helping Ahsoka roll out the carpet. "What are you doing?"
"Oh, they were just asking about my family and-" Boba started, and then was interrupted by a little girl.
"HE WAS ABOUT TO TELL US ABOUT HIS SUPER AWESOME MAGIC!"
"Oh," said Ahsoka. "Boba doesn't have magic. He's adopted."
"Come inside, boys." Obi-Wan said. "There's still a lot to be done before the coronation."
And the two Jedi left. The kids looked at Boba.
"You're adopted?"
"Isn't it kind of obvious?" Boba said. "I don't look anything like my parents. And haven't you ever noticed how I look like a younger version of the clones? Plus, there's the age difference between me and Anakin, I mean Dad."
Boba thought again and found some traits that might've confused the kids. He and Anakin did seem to have almost the same hair color, and he did have brown eyes like Padme did, only his were more hazel. Still, it should look obvious that he wasn't related to either of his parents or his sister, who looked very much like her mother. Lamenta even looked very similar to Gabby. So, it was clear Boba didn't inherit his appearance from his family.
"That doesn't make him any less part of the family, though." Remix said. "Like me and Boba. We're not even the same species, yet we love each other like brothers, ain't that right, bro?" Remix licked his boy's cheek.
"Remix!" Boba whined, using his sleeve to wipe the horse spit from his cheek.
That was when a delivery droid came with a basket for Boba.
"You were given the new 'not special' special since you're the only child in the magical Jedi family with no powers." said the droid.
"Kids, don't try what I'm about to do." Remix said.
And Remix kicked the droid in its middle, making it malfunction and act all wonky.
"That's for calling my friend not special!" Remix said angrily with a snort.
Boba remained calm and cleared his throat.
"Remix, you know you don't have to defend me," said Boba.
"You didn't deserve to be called not special just because you don't have magic." Remix said, he sniffed the basket. "But I say we keep the treats as compensation."
"You just want the sugar cookies." Boba said as if it were obvious.
"You know how much I like sugar cookies."
Boba laughed and started to head into the palace.
"Let's go inside. The coronation isn't gonna wait for anyone, not even the birthday girl."
Boba and Remix went inside. After reminding Remix to leave the treats alone, Boba gave him the basket to put away and went to help the others with prepping for the coronation and party. However, Boba looked at his family as they all started using their powers to help. Carmine was warming up his voice since he would perform a song as Count Crescendo tonight, and at the same time, used his voice to raise the decorations to higher places. Qui-Gon used his super strength to move the heavier objects, Anakin used the Force to move the tables and chairs, and to make flowers appear in some vases, and Lamenta used her night time magic to enchant the ceiling with beautiful stars.
Carousella and Crescent began placing up the banners, while Caroline made sure they were perfect from down below.
"A little lower, Carousella." Caroline called. "Now more to the left, Crescent. No, more to the right. A little more... right there! Perfect."
Boba mainly was taking care of setting up the gift table and helping to stack them up. He'd already lost count of how many presents his sister had gotten this year. In the last three birthdays he celebrated with Gabby, he'd noticed that she always got what must have been a cargo ship load of at least a thousand gifts, whereas on his birthdays, the biggest number he got was thirty from all of his family and friends. It wasn't that he wasn't grateful for them, but he couldn't help feeling shocked seeing the number of presents Gabby was handed every year. Gifts from their parents, her grandparents, her friends, and presents from royal families, senators, and dignitaries from across the galaxy.
Gabby often felt overwhelmed by the amount of presents she got. She had to cast an endless space spell on her closet just to have room for all the clothes and shoes she got, and on her toy box to fit the toys she received as well. She still had more than half the wrapping paper she'd saved to use for thank-you cards, scrapbooking, and collages left.
Sometimes, Boba couldn't help feeling different from the rest of his family. It wasn't that he didn't love them. He was so happy when Anakin and Padme adopted him, and it had already been almost three years since that happened. And yet, it felt to Boba like something was missing. He wasn't sure how he fit in now.
Carmine was a famous pop star, Anakin was the Chosen One made to bring balance to the Force, Caroline was amazing at organizing everything, Padme aided lots of people who struggled because of the war, Qui-Gon helped his granddaughters and his sons to continue to grow, Lamenta turned people's nightmares into sweet dreams and found the truth behind things, and Gabby was going to be Naboo's queen someday.
Boba couldn't help but wonder sometimes if he had powers, he would be more part of the family. Sure, he was great at building things, he was really smart, and he had great aim, but that didn't qualify as magical in the eyes of their current society.
There soon came some guests who arrived early for the coronation.
"I hope tonight will be a perfect night for a certain princess," said Jobal Naberrie, who arrived with the rest of the Naberrie family.
"Grandma! Grandpa Ruwee!" Boba exclaimed happily and went to greet his maternal grandparents as Padme did too.
"Boba, my boy." Ruwee said, ruffling his grandson's hair. "You've gotten taller."
"How are the preparations going, Padme?" Sola asked her sister.
"They're going fine, so far." Padme said, looking at the decor. "I thought we'd have a few more flowers, though."
"Did someone say 'flowers'?" said a voice of a particular six-year-old girl in a pink dress.
Gabby came in and swung gracefully on a vine and grew lots of beautiful flowers in different shades of pink, red, and purple, some of her favorite colors. People cheered as they saw the birthday girl, calling her an angel.
"There's our birthday girl," smiled Anakin as Gabby landed and used her magic to toss flowers to everyone.
"Such an angel," said Obi-Wan.
Gabby giggled and then got excited when she saw her maternal family had arrived. She ran over and immediately got a big hug from her maternal grandfather.
"Look how big you've grown." smiled Jobal. "You're going to be too big for us to carry you soon."
"I know. I finally grew!" Gabby smiled. When her parents measured her and Boba earlier that day, Gabby was delighted to see that she'd grown about three inches in the last year. She was still pretty short, but she was making progress.
"Happy birthday, Gabby." Ryoo and Pooja said.
"Thanks, girls." Gabby said, having her grandfather put her down so she could hug her cousins. "Oh, you guys haven't met my daddy's side of the family. Come on, I'll introduce you."
And the girls went on to meet some other family.
"Boba, would you mind placing these gifts on the table while we finish some things?" Padme asked.
"Sure, Mom." Boba said, taking the Naberrie's gifts. But, it was a lot. There were four boxes, and now the stack was too tall and wide for him to see where he was going. "Watch out! Guy with presents coming through. Can't see what's in front of-"
And Boba bumped right into someone, dropping the gifts. Luckily, they were caught by the Force. Thankfully, it turned out to be Master Plo he bumped into.
"Looks like you might need a little help, Boba." the Kel Dor said, helping the boy up from the floor, then taking two of the boxes so Boba could take the other two easier. "Perhaps you shouldn't take more than you can carry, little one."
"Um, I'm almost thirteen." Boba said. "I'm not that same little boy I was when I got adopted."
"I know. And you're just as important as any member of your family, adopted or not."
"Why does everyone keep reminding me of that?" Boba asked. "I know I'm adopted. I was ten, as in old enough to remember. No need to rub it in."
A lot had changed in the last year for everyone. Ahsoka and Rex started getting together, Master Plo decided to take Ahsoka as his daughter, and a few other Jedi began considering adopting children or finding significant others to raise families of their own with. Boba had changed a bit too. Now that he was nearly a teenager, he was looking for his style. So far, all he'd managed to do is letting his hair grow out, now reaching a little past his shoulders, and he even got some blue streaks dyed into it recently. Remix thought they looked awesome, but it wasn't enough for Boba to feel complete. He still felt very different, and he still wasn't sure what his purpose was yet, but he was determined to find out.
"You're very fortunate to be part of a family who loves you so much." Plo said. "They don't need you to be related to them to care about you. We're all family here. Never forget that."
"I won't." Boba said, and then he left to go see if there was anything else he could help with
(So, I gave Boba a song sang to the melody of "The Family Madrigal" from Encanto. Probably not as good as the original song, but I made do with what I had. Hope you like it. Please be sure to leave comments. I appreciate compliments and feedback.)
