Rebuilding Memories

Featured Song: "From Now On" from The Greatest Showman

It took many days of practice, exercise, and studying to get it all just right, but Gabby was ready to cast her next biggest spell. But she couldn't do it alone.

The royal family and many members of the Jedi Order sifted through the rubble of the old Jedi Temple. Even the Madrigals came to help set up everything to make sure the spell would be cast correctly and that it would work.

Gabby placed down the drawings. The original plans for the Temple's construction, plus many drawings of improvements to make to it. And various items connected to the place were put together too. Anakin's old Padawan braid, the swing that hung from Gabby's favorite tree in the temple garden, a few holocrons, and the orb that contained the power of every happy memory made at the Temple.

Mila poured the potion in a perfect circle surrounding the items.

Obi-Wan and Anakin lifted another piece of rubble together, Peppermint pulling the stuff on a cart.

"What if this spell doesn't work?" Obi-Wan said, sounding worried.

Anakin was surprised to hear Obi-Wan Kenobi of all people feeling doubtful. Normally, he had a lot of confidence, especially in the people he loved. It was rare he would be doubtful now.

But with all at stake, Anakin couldn't blame any Jedi for being worried that the spell might not work. The Temple was where so many of them grew up, made a new home with so many people who weren't even related to them and yet became their family.

"Obi-Wan, if there's anything I've learned from you, it's that doubting isn't the way to go in times of need." Anakin said, putting a hand on his friend's shoulder. "I might not have had the best beginning when I first came here, but I made some great memories anyway. And one of my favorite memories is when we became brothers."

Obi-Wan looked at his former Padawan, still unable to believe how much wisdom he'd gained over the years. It seemed like only yesterday he was that adorable, innocent nine-year-old boy he'd met on that mission to protect Padme. And now, here he was, a grown man, a prince, and showing he'd indeed inherited his father's wisdom.

The older Jedi hugged the younger, and they embraced one another greatly.

"I couldn't be prouder of the man you've become, Anakin." Obi-Wan said, tightening his hug.

"Okay, everyone!" Gabby called out. "We're ready to cast the spell."

Qui-Gon looked at the spell book and confirmed everything was just right in place.

Gabby told everyone to gather round and join hands. The horses just stood and wrapped their wings around those surrounding them or let them put their hands on their shoulders.

"Okay, everyone. Concentrate." Gabby instructed. "If we want this spell to work, we all need to focus on our happy memories of this place. Remember what made you truly love the memories you've made here, flourish in your desire to revive it. Manifest the love and joy in the memories."

Everyone joined together and closed their eyes.

Gabby then began a special song:

I saw the sun begin to dim
And felt that winter wind blow cold
A man learns who is there for him
When the glitter fades and the walls won't hold

'Cause from then, rubble
What remains
Can only be what's true
If all was lost
There's more we gained
'Cause it led us back
To you

From now on
These eyes will not be blinded by the lights
From now on
What's waited 'til tomorrow starts tonight
Tonight

Let this promise in me start
Like an anthem in my heart
From now on
From now on

Everyone's hands began to glow and sparkling gold lights began to surround everyone like a rope connecting them.

Anakin looked at the others and joined in with Gabby. He could feel all the memories seeping through him as he recalled how he grew up in the Temple, needing to learn to believe in himself, and how he didn't leave the order even after he became a father because he was protecting someone he loved.

Anakin:

We made great friends with kings and queens
The politicians praised our names

Carmine remembered when he first joined the Order to learn the Force side of his powers, and then help his daughter learn too.

Carmine:

But that was not what we needed
The pitfalls of the people we'd be

Anakin:

For years and years
I chased their cheers
The crazy speed of always needing more

Carmine & Anakin:

But when I stop
And see you here
I remember who all this was for

Gabby:

And from now on
These eyes will not be blinded by the lights
From now on
What's waited 'til tomorrow starts tonight
It starts tonight

Anakin:

And let this promise in me start
Like an anthem in my heart
From now on
From now on
From now on

Everyone:

And we will come back home
And we will come back home
Home, again!
And we will come back home
And we will come back home
Home, again!
And we will come back home
And we will come back home
Home, again!
(Gabby: From now on!)

And we will come back home
And we will come back home
Home, again!
And we will come back home
And we will come back home
Home, again!

The items placed started to glow along with the circle they sat in, and magic surrounded the rubble too, and it started to float all around them as everyone continued to concentrate and manifest their memories, remembering how much they loved their home and feeling their heart's desire to restore it stronger than ever before.

And we will come back home
And we will come back home (Yes)
Home, again!
And we will come back home
And we will come back home
Home, again!

From now on
These eyes will not be blinded by the lights!
From now on!
What's waited 'til tomorrow starts tonight!
It starts tonight!
Let this promise in me start
Like an anthem in my heart
From now on
From now on
From now on

The plethora of magic got bigger and bigger, the rubble spinning faster and faster. All the unicorns' horns glowed too, and every Enchanted added a bit of extra magic, making it even more powerful.

And we will come back home
And we will come back home
Home, again!
And we will come back home
And we will come back home
Home, again!
And we will come back home
And we will come back home
Home, again

From now on
From now on
Home, again, ooh, ooh
From now on
From now on
Home, again

And a bigger, brighter flash than ever before shined all around.

Gabby woke up to find herself in her father's arms as he was also waking up.

"What happened?" Gabby asked. "Did we do it?"

Anakin rubbed his eyes and looked around.

The Jedi Council was in the room too, and it looked like they were in the Council chamber, but... there was something different about it. The windows now had pretty curtains on them, the rug on the floor had some pretty embroidery on it, and each seat was a different color for each master. But Anakin noticed something wrong with the number of chairs.

"I think someone overcounted when drawing the council chairs." said Anakin. "There's one too many."

"No, Anakin." said Mace. "We counted right. That chair is for you."

Anakin couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Great courage, you have shown. Grown into a good man, you have." said Yoda. "Rank of master, we would like to grant, if accept you do."

Anakin was about to say something, when Carousella burst in.

"There you guys are!" Carousella said excitedly. "You gotta see the rest of this place!"

So, the others decided to check out the rest of the Temple. But they had to get out first.

"Hey, look." Gabby said, spotting some buttons on the chairs that weren't there before.

She sat in Obi-Wan's chair and pressed one, and a trapdoor opened, the cushion of the chair dropping her in!

"Gabby!" Anakin and Obi-Wan exclaimed.

"I've got her!" Obi-Wan said, falling into the trapdoor, finding a big crazy slide that went round and round the tower and ended with him and Gabby landing in a pit of lots of colorful balls.

"Wow, that was quite an exit." Obi-Wan said, catching his breath.

And in front of him popped out Gabby.

"Hi, Uncle Obi-Wan." Gabby smiled.

"There you are! Are you alright?"

"Yeah. That was fun."

Pretty soon, the other Jedi Council members figured out how to work the slides and landed in different spots in the ball pit.

It was amazing! The Temple was even more colorful than before. There were more plants, butterflies painted on the walls, everyone's rooms were restored, and some new rooms and features too.

There was a music room filled with instruments, a room with skylights for stargazing or basking in the sun, a corral and racetrack for the horses, the staircases turned into slides, and the library and the gardens were even bigger too.

All across the Temple, everyone was amazed with how beautiful the Temple was.

"You guys have to see the outside!" Remix called, carrying Boba on his back.

The flying horses gave the royal families a bird's eye view of the outside of the Temple. It looked even bigger and more colorful than before.

Everyone they saw looked so happy to find their home restored. The Temple was bigger and more beautiful than ever. And it looked like the Jedi could move right back in.

The Jedi Council each gave Gabby a big hug in thanks for finding that spell to restore their beloved Temple. But Gabby said,

"It wasn't all my doing. Everyone played a part in restoring this place. But if there's anything I've learned moving from one home to another, it's that it isn't a roof over your head that makes a place a home, but the people surrounded by and the memories you make. Home is where the heart is."

"I couldn't have said it better myself." Qui-Gon said, hugging his granddaughter.
