Nightmares & Truth

Although Anakin wasn't having any strange dreams, someone back home was.

Boba shifted around in his sleep, tossing and turning as he saw things beyond what he could have imagined on his own.

In his dream, Boba could see what looked like a lab on Kamino. Boba recognized this one in particular, having seen it at least once or twice when he was younger.

The girl from Bruno's vision was thrashing around as a couple of medical droids held her and seemed to be pulling her somewhere against her will.

"Please! Let me go!" the girl screamed, trying to escape. "Don't make me do this again!"

In this dream, the girl was wearing what looked like a hospital gown and was forced onto a table of some sort in a room with a bunch of machines with needles and wires.

An oxygen mask was placed on the girl's face as she was held down on the table.

"Now, Omega. Be a good girl so we can proceed." said a Kaminoan.

But the poor girl kept struggling and screamed in terror as a needle was brought out and the droids prepared to hook her up to the machines.

Boba sat up with a gasp.

"Omega?" Boba said with confusion. Judging by his dream, that girl was named Omega, but he didn't know for sure.

Boba didn't know why or how, but somehow he knew that girl was important and she needed help. The only problem was he didn't know how he would find her or how he would get to Kamino. The horses had been given strict orders not to teleport anywhere unless it was an emergency, and the kids were not to go anywhere without a grownup. And with Carmine at the Temple, Caroline party planning, Padme pregnant, and Qui-Gon protecting the family, there was no way he was going to get there, or find out who Omega was or how he could help her.

But what Boba didn't know then was that something much scarier was happening elsewhere.

Utapau...

Obi-Wan and Peppermint soon arrived on Utapau, where they met some of the locals and gave a polite bow.

"Greetings, young Jedi." said a local. A Pau'an "What brings you to our remote sanctuary?"

"Unfortunately, the war." said Obi-Wan.

"There's no war here, unless you brought it with you."

"Rest assured, we have no intent on bringing our war here." Peppermint said. "We're just searching for General Grievous."

"With your kind permission, we should like some fuel... and to use your city as a base as we search nearby systems for General Grievous."

The local spoke to some other beings in another language, and they went to Obi-Wan's ship, which had been modified so Peppermint could ride with him.

"They are here." said the Pau'an. "We are being held hostage."

Peppermint's ears shot up. "They?"

"They are watching us."

"What did you mean by 'they'? Is Grievous with an accomplice?" Peppermint then took out Lady Morpha's mugshot. "Someone who resembles her?"

"That is her. She is a monster."

"I understand." said Obi-Wan.

"Don't worry. We know of both these enemies. We'll help you." Peppermint added.

"Tenth level, thousands of battle droids." the Pau'an said.

"Tell your people to take shelter." said Obi-Wan.

Peppermint nodded in agreement. "If you have warriors, now is the time. No sugarcoating it."

The three bowed to each other again as Obi-Wan and Peppermint went to their fighter and told R4 to tell Cody they made contact.

"Is he bringing additional warriors?" another Pau'an asked.

"He didn't say." said the leader.

As R4 took the ship, Obi-Wan and Peppermint rode to where they'd been told Grievous and Lady Morpha were.

Of course, they were prepared for both enemies. Now that they knew Lady Morpha's moths couldn't handle water, they each kept a spray bottle handy in case any of them were hit.

The Jedi and unicorn looked up to where they believed Grievous was. And, Grievous and Lady Morpha were both giving a briefing to a group of Separatist leaders.

"It won't be long before the armies of the Republic track us here." said Grievous. "I am sending you to the Mustafar system in the outer rim."

Peppermint ran in with Obi-Wan on her back, being as quiet as possible.

"It is a volcanic planet." said Grievous.

"You will be summoned when all is ready for the plan." Morpha said, raising the Vacuo Scepter. "And with this scepter, I shall gain us all the power we will need. All I need is a magical test subject. Until then, you will be safe on Mustafar."

"Safe?" said one leader. "Hmph! Chancellor Palpatine managed to escape your grip, General. Without Count Dooku, I have doubts about your ability to keep us safe."

"Silence!" said Morpha. "My babies do not like loud noises. Be grateful you are not finding yourself in their grip as of yet like our little friends here."

Lady Morpha motioned to King Leofric, who stood by like a lion statue on guard and General Mareheart. However, Leofric could smell something.

Obi-Wan and Peppermint looked down from where they hid and were horrified to see two of their friends were under Morpha's spell.

"That's Carousella and Vivian's fathers!" Peppermint whispered.

Without a word, Obi-Wan removed his hood, and then his entire robe. Then, he jumped down from the ceiling a distance behind Grievous.

"Hello there." said Obi-Wan.

Grievous' guards immediately got out their weapons, and Morpha turned with the cyborg.

"General Kenobi." said Grievous.

"How bold of you to come alone." Morpha said. "Leofric, kill him."

King Leofric lunged and bared his sharp teeth as he approached Obi-Wan. But, Obi-Wan displayed no fear.

"Easy, Your Majesty." Obi-Wan said calmly, holding out one hand. But Leofric kept approaching, but just before he could attack the Jedi, Obi-Wan brought out the spray bottle and sprayed water into his face.

Leofric flinched back and shook himself, rubbing his paw against his face, and off came the black moth.

"Wha- where am I?" Leofric said.

"What?!" said Morpha.

"Lose your servants, Lady?" Said Peppermint, who just managed to splash Carousella's dad out of the trance.

"What's going on?" Armorous asked.

"Less talk, more fight!" Peppermint said.

The droids prepared to take down Obi-Wan and the three Enchanteds, but Obi-Wan managed to take out three of Grievous's droids by Forcing down an air vent shaft. and crushing them.

More battle droids got ready to shoot, but Grievous stopped them.

"Back away." he said. "I will deal with this Jedi slime myself."

"Your move." Obi-Wan challenged, taking out his lightsaber.

"You fool." Grievous taunted. "I've been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku."

Grievous removed his cloak and brought out two extra arms, allowing him to fight with four lightsabers.

"You may know Jedi arts, but do you know Enchanted arts?" Armorous said, getting ready to fight.

"You take Morpha, I've got Grievous!"

"Get the scepter!" Peppermint said.

Morpha fled to lead the Enchanteds away, and covered her ears from the noise everyone was making.

Obi-Wan stayed to fight Grievous as the cyborg spun two lightsabers across the floor.

But, the Jedi still showed no fear, and he fiercely fought Grievous, slicing off one of his robotic hands, and then another. Grievous fought hard, but reinforcements quickly arrived in the form of Commander Cody and the clones.

"Army or not, you must realize you are doomed." Grievous growled.

"Oh, I don't think so."

And Obi-Wan Force pushed Grievous high into the air, making him crash into a vent and then fall to the floor, landing like an insect on its feet.

Obi-Wan tried to follow Grievous, but the cyborg escaped in a vehicle that looked like a giant wheel. He had to go fast!

Obi-Wan whistled for a ride. Except, no creatures came.

"Peppermint?" He called.

Instead, Obi-Wan heard the sound of panicked whinnies.

Obi-Wan rushed to the sound and was horrified when he saw what Lady Morpha was doing.

Peppermint and General Mareheart were both caught in purple energy bubbles, magic coming from their horns as though by force aside from their own. King Leofric was knocked out, so he couldn't help them.

"Obi-Wan! Help us!" Peppermint cried out in pain as the last bit of magic was sucked from her horn.

The bubbles popped as the two equines collapsed to the floor.

"Thank you for being my test subjects, dear horses." Morpha cackled. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have further testing to conduct."

And she disappeared in a plethora of her own moths.

"Peppermint!" Obi-Wan ran to his unicorn. "Are you okay?"

Peppermint felt so weak; she could barely lift her head.

"Can't... get... up!" she said weakly.

Obi-Wan checked both horses' pulses. They were still alive, but barely. They needed to be taken to safety now!

Commander Cody made a report to Master Windu in a briefing.

"Obi-Wan has made contact with General Grievous, but Lady Morpha has escaped, and she appears to have weakened General Kenobi's horse." Cody explained.

"Oh no." Carmine said. "She's got the scepter working.

"Carmine, don your brother's appearance and deliver this report to the chancellor." said Mace.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Carmine asked.

"His reaction will give us a clue to his intentions. We'll contact Master Jinn and get Skywalker here as soon as we can."

"Yes, Master."

And off Carmine went.

"I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi." said Mace. "The dark side of the Force surrounds the chancellor."

"If he does not give up his emergency powers after the destruction of Grievous, then he should be removed from office."

"The Jedi Council would have to take control of the senate in order to secure a peaceful transition."

"It shouldn't be a problem with a royal family member on the council." said Fiesta, walking in with Ahsoka.

"Ahsoka, good to see you and Fiesta again." Mace said, smiling a little.

"We just heard about the mission with Grievous." Ahsoka said. "We've found some new information on Lady Morpha's species and how to defeat her."

"So far, we know water can break someone out of her spell, but we aren't sure how to defeat the Gypsy herself." Fiesta said.

"So far, our only hypothesis is getting her wet."

"Hmm. To a dark place, these lines of thought may carry us." Yoda said. "Hmm. Great care we must take."

"Okay, Lamenta. One more time." said Carmine before he and Lamenta left for the Chancellor's office. "I'm going to keep the Chancellor distracted..."

"And I need to see the truth about him without him realizing it by literally being invisible."

"Exactly. And once you have the information, tug my robes carefully."

Lamenta and Carmine put their hands together and were ready to go. Of course, Lamenta remembered one important detail, and got out her mother's makeup to make a fake scar by her father's right eye.

Carmine, disguised as Anakin, entered the Chancellor's office with Lamenta sneaking in quietly as she was invisible.

"Chancellor," said Carmine. "We've just received a report from Master Kenobi. He's engaged General Grievous and encountered Lady Morpha."

"We can only hope that Master Kenobi is up to the challenge." said Palpatine.

"I only wish I were there to help him." Carmine said.

"It's upsetting to me to see that the council doesn't seem to fully appreciate your talents." That was when the chancellor seemed to notice no plants were growing. "Speaking of talents, why are you not growing anything?"

Carmine quickly realized he didn't prepare for that in a switch. But, he thought of something quickly.

"I got better at keeping them under control." Carmine shrugged. "Don't want a repeat of the poison ivy chair incident."

"Hmm. Do you not wonder why the Council won't make you a Jedi master?"

"It's temporary. I'll get there. Eventually."

While the chancellor was distracted, Lamenta held out her hand and combined her connection to the Force with her power to see the truth. She concentrated as hard as her little head would let her.

And she could see horrible things in the Chancellor's mind.

Speeches with General Grievous, him knowing Silvaria was evil and making a deal with her, Count Dooku addressing him as his master, him in a dark cloak having secret meetings... and most recently, a deal with Lady Morpha to eliminate the Jedi and every member of the Solaran royal family.

And according to that truth, Lady Morpha first needed to drain the royal family of their magic so she could first destroy their allies, as well as what remained of their kingdom before destroying them.

Lamenta had to cover her mouth to hide her gasp.

Lamenta quickly, but quietly tugged her father's robe.

"The Council does have its moment, I'll admit that... but they mean well. It's like a relationship between parents and teenage kids. Neither side really knows what to do about anything, and it can get crazy." Carmine felt Lamenta tug his robe and began to slip out of the office. "Speaking of kids... I promised my wife I'd accompany her to a doctor's appointment today."

Before the Chancellor could say anything else, Carmine and Lamenta rushed out of there like their lives depended on it. And when Lamenta told her father what she saw... it turned out they did.
