Featured song: "Fired Up" from Disney's "Zombies"
A few weeks later, it was time for Windy Falls first big game of the season. And it was a really special one too because it was also Omega and Boba's first time officially participating with the team.
Anakin sat with his wife. She was due any day now, and she was worried about her. With the twins' coronation coming up so soon, and the baby coming soon, there was a lot of stress going on.
"You sure you're feeling okay, Padme?" Anakin said.
"I'm fine, Ani." Padme said. "Besides, I wouldn't miss our babies' first cheer off."
Music began to play, and the cheerleaders all came out. Boba stood at the front because he was one of the top-skilled. members.
Boba: Listen up, it's not so tough, I'll tell you how it's done
There's really nothing better than to hear you're number one
And I know how to get a crowd right up and on their feet
So if you want them in it, I'll show you how to get it
The cheerleaders shook their pom poms and danced their routine with skill and high spirit. The crowds were pumped up by the spirits of all these cheerleaders from grades one to eighth.
Cheerleaders:
Ain't no mountain we can't climb, nothing keeps us down
Got that fire in our soul, never count us out
We got one thing on our minds, call it victory
Yeah, that's where we're headed and we know how to get it
Cheerleaders of different age groups came out and did their routines, shouting out, cartwheeling, flipping, and shaking all that spirit out and getting cheers form the crowd.
We were made for this, there's nothing we can't do
We came to play, we're here to stay and win the day 'cause
We were made for this, didn't come here to lose
We came to play, we're here to stay, what's left to say when we know
Nothing's gonna get in our way
No! So get up out of our way
We're fired up, we're fired up, we're fired up
Nothing's gonna get in our way
No! So get up out of our way
We're fired up, we're fired up, we're fired up
It wasn't long before the big kids got out to do their routines.
Omega came out and did a duet routine she and Boba practiced together.
Omega:
Been waiting for this day to come and it was all so clear
Since I was a little girl I saw me standing here
Omega & Boba:
And all the times they told me "Walk away", I said "Forget it"
I knew where I was headed and I was gonna get it
Ain't no mountain we can't climb, nothing keeps us down
Got that fire in our soul, never count us out
We got one thing on our minds, call it victory
Yeah, that's where we're headed and we know how to get it
The cheerleaders came together once more and started to do pyramids and stacking themselves and striking all kinds of great poses.
Cheerleaders: We were made for this, there's nothing we can't do
We came to play, we're here to stay and win the day 'cause
We were made for this, didn't come here to lose
We came to play, we're here to stay, what's left to say when we know
Nothing's gonna get in our way
No! Come on, let me hear you say
We're fired up, you're fired up, we're fired up
Nothing's gonna get in our way
No! Come on, let me hear you say
We're fired up, you're fired up, we're fired up
Boba came out and did a solo routine with so many of the great skills his uncle and other great teachers taught him that earned him a spot on the squad, and then the girls and guys who were best at cartwheels jumped in and started the next part of the routine and cheer.
We are from Windy Falls
We wanna hear you shout
From the left and from the right
Turn up the volume now
We wanna lift you high
You'll never feel the ground
We'll get you up, we'll never stop
This is our hometown
We are from Windy Falls
We wanna hear you shout
From the left and from the right
Turn up the volume now
We are from Windy Falls
It's time to show you now
We got the stuff to light you up
It's getting hotter now
We're getting hotter now
It's getting hotter now
We were made for this, there's nothing we can't do
We came to play, we're here to stay and win the day 'cause
We were made for this, didn't come here to lose
We came to play, we're here to stay, what's left to say when we know
Nothing's gonna get in our way
No! Come on, let me hear you say
We're fired up, you're fired up, we're fired up
Nothing's gonna get in our way
No! Come on, let me hear you say
We're fired up, you're fired up, we're fired up
And the big finish!
The kids did pyramids again, and Boba jumped into a split like he'd done in tryouts.
The crowd cheered.
"Go, Big Brother and Big Sister!" Gabby cheered for her older siblings.
It was a great time. All the excitement, all the loud cheering, everyone coming together and feeling the high spirit getting higher!
Padme gasped and held her stomach. At first, she thought it might just be another kick. But... it wasn't.
"Ani! It's time!" Padme said.
"What?" Anakin said.
"It's time!"
"What?" Anakin gasped. "Now?! But it's not due for at least two weeks!"
"You tell the baby that!" Padme said.
Anakin shouted out for people to get out of the way.
"Make way! Princess in labor coming through!" Anakin said, carrying his wife bridal style to get her out of there.
No one could believe it when they heard Anakin shout out that Princess Padme was in labor. Especially not the Skywalker-Jinn kids. The new baby was coming!
"The baby's really coming?" Gabby gasped.
"You're going to be a big sister, very soon, Gabby." Caroline said, picking up her niece as the rest of the family took care of making sure people got out of the way.
Everyone was so excited!
A video of Padme going into labor and leaving the cheer off was posted on the holo-net, and it went viral!
Nothing made people crazier than when a new royal baby was about to be born.
Gabby and the other kids could hardly sleep that night.
Gabby was so nervous. In a few hours, she wouldn't be the baby of the family anymore. She was going to be a big sister. But she also realized... she wouldn't be the cute one anymore. Babies always grabbed everyone's attention.
Nothing could compete with a baby's adorability.
Gabby remembered when she was smaller, people always went gaga over how cute she was. And as much as she wanted to be taken more seriously, she still loved the attention. But nevertheless, she couldn't wait to meet her baby brother or sister.
But Gabby also felt worried.
Would she a good big sister? She'd never looked after many babies in her life. Sure, there was Rotta, but that was mostly her father and Ahsoka who'd taken care of him. All she did was coo over him and grow flowers to make him less stinky.
Gabby knew how great it was to have an older sibling. She'd had Boba for the last three years, and in her eyes, he was the best big brother she could ever ask for. Before him, she had Ahsoka as her big sister figure.
Like any good big sister, Ahsoka did her best to protect Gabby when her father couldn't. She hugged her, played with her, and even tickled her just to see her laugh and smile.
Carousella also took care of Gabby like a big sister. One who was a royal guard, anyway.
Gabby asked Mila at some point how she handled when the twins were born.
And Mila told her, "It was the happiest moment of my entire life, getting to see my baby sister and brother for the very first time. But, when I started needing to share my parents' attention, it was hard. I sometimes felt jealous that my parents didn't have as much time for me as they used to, but they didn't love me any less than before. Newborn babies need a lot of attention. So, the best thing you can do as a big sister is be there for the new baby. Show them everything your parents taught you about what it means to love a child. To love each other. You'll be one of the first heroes they ever know."
Gabby wanted to be just that for the new baby. She looked at her teddy bear.
"I'm gonna be the best big sister ever!" Gabby said. She prayed her mother would be okay too. "Send my mother strength. Let her make it through the birth. Let the new baby have the chance to grow up knowing how wonderful Mommy and Daddy are."
It was Saturday. Everyone was up and getting breakfast.
Carmine heard his phone ring and answered it.
"Oh, hey, Anakin." Carmine said. "What's up?"
Carmine listened for a moment.
"What? Really? That's wonderful! We'll be right there!"
Carmine went to his family.
"Everyone! The baby's arrived!" Carmine announced.
Everyone was cheering and filled with excitement, especially the kids.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" Gabby asked excitedly. "Do I have a baby brother or sister?"
"Well, we're going to the hospital to find out. Family meets the new addition first."
Gabby inhaled the rest of her breakfast and rushed to get to the speeder they would take.
Kara chuckled and said, "I think she definitely inherited my speed."
The rest of the Skywalker-Jinn family arrived at the hospital, where they were escorted to the suite where Padme was staying.
They entered the room to see Padme resting in a bed with Anakin sitting right beside her.
Nearby was a bassinet, and in Padme's arms, she held a little blue bundle at which she and Anakin glanced with no other expression but love.
Anakin looked to see his kids.
"Hey, kids." Anakin said. "Come meet the newest addition."
The kids approached the bed as Padme unwrapped the blanket from the baby's face.
None of the kids could keep themselves from smiling as they caught their first glimpse of the baby boy in Padme's arms.
"Meet your new baby brother." Padme smiled. "Luke."
"He's so cute!" Gabby whispered excitedly.
"I can't believe I have a baby brother!" Boba said excitedly, but quietly. He got a little closer, wanting to get a better look at his new brother. It felt so good knowing he wouldn't be the only male child in family anymore. Sure, he loved his sisters and his cousin, but to have a real brother still felt so great.
"I love him." Omega said.
Anakin smiled and approached the bassinet.
"And..." said Anakin, to the kids' confusion. And he gently carried out a pink bundle. "Your baby sister... Leia."
The kids couldn't believe their eyes.
"Two babies?!" Gabby said, her eyes going impossibly wide. "I have a baby brother and a baby sister? This is the greatest day ever!"
Anakin chuckled and let everyone get a look at the new baby twins.
Leia was wide awake, her eyes a beautiful brown like Padme's. Leia looked just like her mother, and Luke looked just like his father, his eyes revealed to be blue like his when he opened them.
Anakin looked at his second youngest daughter.
"Would you like to hold your sister?" He asked.
"Can I?" Gabby gasped.
Anakin had his daughter sit down and showed her how to properly hold Leia as he carefully passed her into Gabby's arms.
Gabby carefully and firmly held her new sister in her arms and looked down happily into the baby's big brown eyes.
"Hi, Leia. Hello." Gabby giggled. "I'm Gabby, your big sister. I'm a princess. And you're a princess too."
Gabby wondered if this was anything like how Boba might've felt when he met and held her for the first time or when he found out he was going to be a big brother when her parents decided to adopt him. Just like Mila said, it felt so magical getting to see her baby siblings for the very first time, and even more magical getting to hold even one in her arms for the first time.
"Can I hold him?" Boba asked his mother.
"Just be very careful, Sweetie." Padme said. "He's very tiny."
Boba carefully took his new brother into his arms and looked happily at the baby boy in his arms. Luke looked at Boba, but then started crying.
"Mom!" Boba said, not sure what to do.
"I got him." Anakin said, taking Luke into his arms and rocking him.
"He doesn't like me." Boba looked down.
"No, that's not it, Boba." Anakin placed a finger in Luke's tiny hand, and the baby started sucking on it. "He's just tired and hungry."
Anakin gave the baby boy to his wife and got out a couple of baby bottles to feed the twins.
Padme took one to feed Luke, and Anakin was about to take Leia to feed her.
"Can I feed her, Daddy?" Gabby asked.
"Well, it's never too early to learn." Anakin said.
Anakin showed Gabby how to hold Leia and the bottle so she could drink.
Gabby started to get the hang of it very well.
"Very good, Princess." Anakin smiled. "You're a great big sister already."
Qui-Gon gave his son a pat on the back.
"I'm proud of you, Anakin. You are a wonderful father to your children, and a wonderful husband to your wife."
"Aww, my cousins have new baby twins, and I have none." Lamenta said.
"You'll get to be a big sister someday, Lamb." Carmine said, pushing his daughter's hair back.
It wasn't long before another ball was put into place to welcome the new prince and princess into the family, and to introduce them to the rest of the galaxy.
No one could stop going gaga over the new babies.
Everyone wanted to hold them, kiss them, and play with them.
Gabby and Omega each got a special badge as a present. Badges that said I'm a Big Sister on them. Boba had a badge like that too. Anakin and Padme had made him that badge when he first came home. Only days after his adoption did he prove to be a great big brother to their little girl, and they wanted to be sure he knew how proud of him they were.
"I guess this means I'm not the cute one anymore." Gabby said.
"What do you mean? You're still cute." Boba said. "The babies are cute, but you haven't lost your cuteness."
"I only hope I can be a good big sister too." Omega said, looking at her badge.
"Well, you've been my big sister for a while, Omega." Gabby said. "And I think you do a great job. So, we can both figure out this big sister thing together."
"Cootchie, cootchie." Bruno cooed as he held Luke. "You are so cute!"
"Remember when our twins were this small?" Alicia smiled.
"They grow up so fast."
Mila held Leia as Rosella played Peek-a-Boo with the baby girl.
"Donde esta, Leia?" Rosella sang, hiding her eyes behind her hands and popping out. "There she is!"
"My turn!" Gabby said, copying Rosella's actions. "Peek-a-Boo!"
Leia smiled at the playfulness of the two girls. It was adorable!
"Who's a cute pair of twins?" Carousella cooed, looking at both the twins. "Who's a pretty baby? You two are!"
Luke hit his little hand on Carousella's muzzle, making the musicorn snort as she was hit a little hard close to her nostril.
Luke giggled at the horse's reaction.
"Things are sure gonna be different around her from now on." Anakin smiled at his wife.
