Lost Home & First Kiss
The Jedi were all in dismay when they arrived at Escuela and heard what had become of the Jedi Temple. The children especially were crying in fear and dismay. That Temple was their home, where they'd grown up. Now it was gone.
The Jedi Council tried desperately to calm everyone down, but it was near impossible. Even the elder Jedi couldn't hold back their tears or cries of dismay.
Knowing of the Fall of Solaris, some began to wonder if this was how the ancestral Solarans felt when they lost their home.
Camilo knew the feeling all too well. When Casita fell all those years ago and everyone lost their gifts, the family was fraught with dismay. But they were even more dismayed when they found Mila and Mirabel were missing. It had taken months for them to rebuild their home. A place as humongous as the Temple... even with the advanced technology, would no doubt take years to rebuild.
So many people were now homeless.
"I don't think there were even this many people when my Abuela and Abuelo Pedro fled their old home." Camilo said.
"This is terrible." Padme said, feeling a bit woozy, but Satine caught her.
"Are you okay?" Satine asked.
"I'm fine. A little dizzy." Padme sighed. "But fine."
"I don't think any Jedi in history has ever faced a conundrum like this before." Obi-Wan said.
"Where are we gonna live?" asked Ganodi.
"Mrs. Princepta says we can stay here for the time being." said Mace. "But once the school year starts, we'll have to relocate everyone. We're not certain where, though. At this point, Boba Skywalker holds the only magic powerful enough to stop Lady Morpha."
"There must be something we can do to help." Bruno said.
"We'll just have to wait and see what happens for now." Obi-Wan said.
Meanwhile, the Bad Batch and the Madrigals were finally ready to go earlier than expected. With Mirabel's sewing skills, she managed to make functional and stylish disguises for everyone.
Lady Morpha was having dignitaries from non-magical kingdoms in attendance for her coronation, and people mostly chose to attend because she threatened to have them hunted and killed if they didn't.
With help from Queen Neeyutnee, the others planned to act as her entourage in order to gain access to the coronation. They had their weapons safely stashed in various places so Lady Morpha wouldn't suspect anything.
Mila put the finishing touches on the special bracelet she created that could be used to shoot water. That way, she would have a perfect weapon. Everyone else also had goggles, glasses, or a mask of some kind over their eyes so if Lady Morpha unleashed her moths, they wouldn't affect them.
Tech looked at himself in the mirror in the suit Mirabel designed for him.
"Not exactly what I'm used to, but it'll do." Tech said.
"I think, we look good." Wrecker said, flexing his muscles.
"Wrecker, stop that. You're gonna rip it again." Mirabel scolded. "And hold still. I have to finish adjusting this."
"Aww!" Wrecker whined.
"Is everyone ready?" called Mila's voice.
When Tech looked behind him, he froze and swore the whole room turned dark as Mila glowed. She entered the room in a beautiful, shiny off-shoulder purple sweetheart dress. Mila's hair was down, she wore the gold water-shooting bracelet she invented, and she still had her goggles on her head.
Tech couldn't believe his eyes as he looked at what Mila was wearing. She looked absolutely stunning. It was like looking at an angel.
"Wow..." Tech gasped.
"You like it?" Mila turned in the dress, the skirt looking beautiful as she did, like she was in the clouds.
"You're beautiful." Tech caught himself as Wrecker failed to hold back his laughter. "Did I just say that out loud?"
Mila giggled.
"Alright, everybody, enough lollygagging, we got a coronation to stop!" Crescent said. "Let's move it, move it, move it!"
Everyone quickly got to their stations.
General Mareheart shouted out orders for everyone to do their jobs.
Mila and Tech got to their spot together and did some final calculations on the route they were taking to get to Solaris.
"Well, this is it." Mila said. "I always dreamed of getting all dressed up with a special guy... although I imagined more of a setting at a party or a big dance. Not saving the galaxy from an evil butterfly lady."
"I'm still no expert on romance, but I would imagine that would be a more appropriate second date setting." said Tech.
"Are you saying you want a second date? Assuming we both survive."
"Uh... would you like that?" Tech blushed.
"Si." Mila fluttered her eyelashes
Mila found her hand on Tech's for what felt like the first time in forever.
"I still don't know what the exact outcome will be." Tech said, working up a bit of courage. "In case anything happens..."
Mila looked around to make sure no one was coming, and she leaned closer to him, so did Tech to her.
So far so good. They got closer, and closer, and closer... and before they knew it...
They were kissing!
It felt so magical. Tech felt his heart explode with a feeling as though it had turned into a plethora of butterflies as he felt Mila's soft lips against his. He never imagined feeling this way about anyone, especially not a girl as amazing as Mila, the perfect combination of brains and beauty for him. Mila, on the other hand, could not think of any mathematical equation or scientific method to explain why the first kiss felt so magical or how she ended up finding someone as smart and sweet as the man she was kissing now.
Mila was first to gently pull away. Tech really felt his heart racing after that.
"Wow..." he gasped. Mila giggled.
"If you're done smooching, would you mind getting on board?" said Hunter.
Only, Tech had gone all loopy after his kiss with Mila.
"Magic butterflies and flowers all around..." Tech sang like he was drunk or something.
"What did you do?" Hunter scolded.
"Apparently fried Tech's brain with a kiss." Mila said. She grabbed Tech and gently patted his cheek. "Hellooo... wake up, Tech. Anyone home?"
"Huh? What happened?" Tech blushed.
Mila giggled. "You lost your mind for a moment there. Time to stop an evil queen's coronation."
Mila tried to give Tech another kiss, but Hunter said, "Can you save the kissing for after we stop this woman?"
"Alright. Killjoy." Mila muttered.
And they were soon on their way to Solaris.
