Interviews

Esther got the cameras set up and had two chairs placed down so she could conduct some interviews.

"Alright, people. Let's get a move on." Esther called like a professional movie director.

Members of the Jedi Council were lined up in the other room, waiting their turns to be interviewed.

"How exactly are these interviews supposed to change the public image?" asked Master Koth.

"The public knows about you, but they don't know the real you." Gabby said. "Like how people know Count crescendo, but they only know what they see on stage. Not behind the scenes or when he's not performing."

"In other words," said Lamenta. "They need to know you more personally. Not everyone got to grow up around you or see what you're like when you're not meditating or in battle."

"Esther knows everything about interviewing." Memoria said. "And she's helped a lot of people. Plus, I told her if she succeeded in helping, I'd ask Lamenta if she'd get her dad to do a collab with her."

"I'm not sure Daddy would agree to that." Lamenta said. "He's never been a fan of collabs. Not since the incident with Skater Kater."

"I don't blame him, honestly. If someone tried to expose my secret identity on a livestream and pulled my hair, I'd be angry at them too."

"Which is why she was canceled big time." Gabby said. "Boy was she mad."

"No one's seen her since my daddy got her cancelled and got her kicked out of the Insta-Star house." Lamenta said. "Hopefully she's doing better now."

Esther clapped to get everyone's attention.

"Quiet on set, people. We're going live in five, four, three, two..."

"What's up Esth-atics? I'm Esther Sitala here at the Naboo palace." Esther began with a smile. "As some of you know, the Jedi Temple has been destroyed, and thus the Jedi have been taken in by some kind people, including the royal family of Solaris. However, it's come to my attention that some of you out there don't think they deserve to have their home rebuilt. But I think those who think such are wrong. And to prove it, we're gonna get to know the Jedi personally, starting with a very special girl from that Order. Gabby Skywalker, come on down!"

Gabby entered the scene and sat in the chair across from Esther's.

"Hi, Esther." Gabby waved to the camera. "Hi, everyone!"

"So, Gabby. Isn't it true you grew up around the Jedi, closer than any youngling?"

"Well, I'm the only known Jedi youngling to bond with just about every master on the Council. So, pretty much."

"And what would you say your relationship with them is like?"

"I'd say we're like a family. I even call them my aunts and uncles."

"But wasn't the Old Code in practice when you were born? I mean, the Jedi must've discouraged you addressing them as that at some point."

"I thought they would've when I got older. But strangely, they never did. I never asked why though. Still, I love them. And I always wanna let them know that in any way I can. I may be small, but my love for them is ginormous."

Esther found it so adorable and sweet.

"Alright, let's see what questions the viewers have."

DharLord46: Which Jedi Master are you closest to?

"Well, I won't say that I have any favorites. But where closeness is concerned, Uncle Obi-Wan wins that title. He was the first Jedi Master I ever met when I was born. And he and Daddy are practically brothers, so why not. Most people look at him and see someone who's super polite and a real gentleman. But, he's actually got a great sense of humor, and he can be a lot of fun too. And he gives some of the best hugs."

"Okay, next question." said Esther.

SkinnyJeanQueen: How do you deal with being part of a corrupt society like the Jedi's?

"Okay..." Gabby was thrown a bit by that question. "I know the Order isn't perfect. But who is? I'm a princess, and I'm not perfect. Sometimes I forget to clean my room, or I get myself messy when I eat. Once, I even took bacon from my daddy's plate because he hogged the last of it."

"That was this morning." Anakin said.

"Uh oh. Sounds like I'm in trouble." Gabby said. "Gotta go!"

And Gabby ran to escape her father.

"Gabriella Rosella Amidala-Jinn-Skywalker! Get back here, young lady!" Anakin said, chasing his daughter.

Esther chuckled and said, "Wow. What an exit. Let's hear some words from some Jedi Council members, starting with famous Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi."

"So, Obi-Wan..." Esther got out her notes. "According to our sources, you are the youngest Jedi Master on the Council after Mace Windu, and you were the student of King Qui-Gon Jinn of Solaris and teacher to his son Anakin Skywalker. Very impressive hero resume."

"Thank you, Esther. And thank you for having me here." Obi-Wan said.

"So, tell us, Obi-Wan. Since the changes in the Jedi Code, how would you say things have changed for you personally?"

"Well, to start, it was not an easy adjustment. I grew up on the old code. However, I recall some moments where I questioned it as my former Padawan, and his daughter did."

"Care to share when you first began to question it?"

"Actually, it occurred shortly after Gabby was born. Seeing Anakin raise her, I realized he was becoming a better Jedi. It was as though she provided some secret weapon that stopped him from allowing his anger to get the best of him. He described her as his motivation to work harder, having something to fight for. And he made it clear he would protect her no matter what risk he had to take."

"What about when the Council expelled Anakin when you learned he was Gabby's father? How did you feel then?"

Obi-Wan looked down for a moment. He still remembered how upsetting that day was.

"It was... it was one of the hardest days of my life. Seeing the two of them forced apart... something inside me just snapped. I never knew my own family, and other Council members thought because Gabriella was still a toddler, she would simply forget. However, I learned then that when you truly love someone, you never forget them. Thus, after facing the girl's emotional tantrums and a lot of guilt, I decided to bring her back to her family. It was the right thing to do."

"Her parents must've been so grateful for that."

"Padme was. Anakin, on the other hand. He was grateful, but mostly angry. I cannot say I blame him, however."

"Because you care about them." Esther said as a statement rather than a question.

"I do. My loved ones were more important to me than my seat on the council. And they mean as much now. Even more. Getting to watch Anakin grow up, and then Gabby... I began to realize that was what I wish I could have. And now that Satine and I are engaged, we hope we will have the chance to raise a family together."

"How sweet. It's no wonder Anakin made you the godfather to his daughter."

"And it is an honor I take very seriously."

"And now you're teaching Anakin's twin brother, Carmine, am I right?"

"Indeed. He is a dedicated student."

"Is he as difficult as Anakin was?"

"No. He's actually pretty obedient and focused. However, he is rather obsessed with sneaking dancing into physical training. You should've seen when Master Windu was helping train him, and Carmine used tickling as a distraction."

Both the Jedi Master and the princess laughed at that.

"Let's see what questions the viewers have for you."

ChattyKitty432: When you marry Satine, are you gonna leave the order? You'd be becoming royal too, right?

"It is true I will have a new title once Satine and I marry," said Obi-Wan. "but I won't leave the order. With the code, I'm not forced to decide. However, years ago, had she asked me to, I would have because I loved her then as I do now."

TwilekSparkle26: If the Jedi are so great, how did you not know a Sith Lord was on the Senate?

"This is about getting to know the Jedi personally, not-" Esther started.

"Esther, it's okay. None of us know how we didn't notice it." Obi-Wan said. "It's hard to explain. However, we had some very resourceful young Jedi, and the important thing is, the enemies have been taken care of, and we in the Jedi Order are working to improve ourselves."

"Okay, one last question before we move on to the next Jedi." Esther said.

JKKing18: What's gonna happen to the clones now that the war is over?

"I'm uncertain about that." Obi-Wan said. "We haven't really thought about that, to be honest. But they have served the Republic greatly as well as the Jedi. They've become like part of our family. Therefore, we will do what we can to help them if they need it finding new careers."

"Thank you, Master Kenobi." Esther said, giving Obi-Wan a great big hug. "Aw! Gabby was right. You are a great hugger. On to our next guest, Jedi Master Mace Windu."

"The interviews seem to be going really well." said Boba quietly, watching the livestream on his computer.

"Yeah." Remix nodded. "Esther really is a great conversationalist."

"I never got to use social media back on Kamino." Omega said, enthralled by the new E-phone her adoptive parents got her. Lamenta even helped her open her own Insta-Star account.

Of course, they also had Esther and Carmine give Omega a critical lecture about holo-net safety before even letting anyone show her what social media was.

"Remember to be careful, Omega." said Carousella. "Once you post something, you lose control over it."

"I will." said Omega, before taking a selfie with the musicorn.

"A lot of questions, we've gotten tonight." said Esther. "Okay, we're getting a chat request from KStar7. We'll put them on the air. Welcome to our show, do you have a question?"

"Yeah, I got a question for Windu. Isn't it true you murdered Prince Boba's father right in front of him?"

Everyone froze at that question.

"It was a war," said Esther. "A lot of people died. It's a sad truth."

"But is it true?"

Boba decided not to sit and watch. And he joined in the broadcast.

"Yes, it's true." Boba said. "But I've long since forgiven the guy. We apologized to each other years ago. And not a day goes by that I don't miss my birth father. Still, I've moved on since then, and I know for a fact that he would just want me to be happy. And in an odd way, that tragic event led to something amazing. So, don't bully Mace over one mistake he made. Who any of us were before doesn't matter as much as who we are now. Take it from me, I know what it's like to have a past you're not proud of, but it doesn't define who I am, and the same goes for everyone else, including you KStar7. Sorry for interrupting, Ess. Just thought that needed to be said."

Boba then left the scene.

"Okay, that was totally unexpected." Esther said. "I think now would be a good time to take a break. We will move on to meeting some other Jedi soon. Stay tuned for more videos of this new series we shall call Jedi Chat."

And Esther ended the livestream right then and there.

"Boba, that was amazing." Esther said. "What you said out there. That took a lot of courage."

"I couldn't just stand there." Boba said. "Even if we're not exactly friends, I wasn't gonna let Mace get humiliated like that. Four years ago, probably. But now, no."

Someone then ruffled Boba's hair.

"You really have grown up, Boba." Mace said with a smile. "Your father would be proud."

Esther later started interviewing Jedi Masters individually, then she got to editing each video and then eventually posting them. After the different questions people kept asking, she thought it best to record instead of livestreaming and then choose which questions should be answered to avoid further issues.

The videos seemed to get a lot of likes, and people had a lot of questions about the Jedi as people. So, Esther decided they should try posting some videos of life in the palace with the Jedi, and even convinced Anakin to look through some of his family and R2's home movies to show to people to show the fun sides of the Jedi, and they came up with some other ideas to show who the Jedi were as people.

"Oh! Oh! What if we did videos of the Jedi showing off their hidden talents?" Gabby suggested. "A hidden talent show."

"I like that." Esther said, writing that down. "Any other ideas?"

"What if we did something like that show the Masked Singer?" Carousella said. "Only, instead of celebrities, people have to guess which Jedi is behind the mask?"

"Maybe." Esther wrote that down too. "So, Lamenta. Have you talked to your dad?"

"He's hesitant about a collab after that incident with SkaterKater." Lamenta said.

"Ah. I can't say I blame him. But I'd never do that to anyone. I'd only want an interview, and to sing a duet with him. And it'd be a nice change from all the divas I've been offered collabs with."

"I know what you mean. We once went to this V.I.P party, and Vicki Miraj's niece was so mean and dumped punch on my head!"

"Ooh. Your dad must've been furious. What did he do?"

"He used the Force to make the chocolate fountain fall over her head and 'accidentally' let a picture of it get leaked to the paparazzi."

"Uncle Carmine actually did that?" Gabby gasped.

"She was a fourteen-year-old being mean to a three-year-old." Lamenta said. "And Daddy gets scarier than you'd imagine when he's angry."

"The social media, music, and basically celebrity industry overall is a complicated one." Esther said. "It's tough to find real friends too often to count. But it does make it easy to make changes."

Just then, Esther got an alert on her phone.

"Speaking of making changes... I have to prepare for that charity trip."

"Where are you going?" Gabby asked.

"Haruun Kaal. Mace's planet of birth. Lady Morpha attacked one of the villages and polluted their water supply. I'm going there to help with the sanitation project and spread awareness on the need to take environmental healthcare more seriously."

"Who's gonna help us with making videos then?"

"Don't you worry your pretty little heads." Esther said. "I just got a new manager, and she'll help you with everything. I gave her specific instructions, and everything will go smoothly. My mom already talked to your parents and said it was okay for Memoria to stay with you so she can oversee progress. I'll be back in just a few weeks."

"Why do I get a weird sense it's not gonna be as easy as Esther said?" Gabby asked no one in particular.
