Mirabel helped Tech tie a beautiful purple ribbon around some marigolds Gabby grew for him to give to Mila.

"You're sure this'll work?" Tech asked, sounding nervous.

"Positive." Gabby said. "Nothing says romantic like asking a girl while presenting her with a bouquet of beautiful flowers."

"And if I know Mila," said Mirabel. "she'll love that they're wrapped in a ribbon of her favorite color."

"Just go up to her, give her the flowers, and ask her to go on a date with you. We've already taken care of everything else."

"Go get her, Techy!" Wrecker playfully punched Tech's shoulder, nearly making him drop the bouquet.

"Wrecker! You're gonna make me drop the flowers!" Tech scolded. He was relieved to see the flowers were still okay.

"There's no way Mila will say no. And once she sees what we've set up for the two of you, you're gonna be the happiest couple in the galaxy."

"You memorized everything on the list, right?"

"Absolutely." Tech nodded.

"Good. And you're on your own now because Mila's on her way!"

Everyone else scrammed, leaving Tech by himself. And then got all nervous when he saw Mila headed in his direction down the hall. He hid the flowers behind his back and stood still, starting to think he'd forgotten everything he learned.

"Mila! I... I... I..." Tech stammered.

"Tech, are you okay?" Mila said.

"I was... I was just... wondering...if you would..."

Tech then brought out the marigolds. "Would you go on a date with me?"

Tech winced. This was a mistake. How could I be so stupid to think she'd say...

"I'd love to." Mila said to Tech's surprise.

"Wait... did you just say...?"

"Yes. I was... actually going to ask you the same thing."

The two suddenly felt their hearts racing as Tech gave Mila the bouquet, and she let him escort her to a special space where their friends set up a nice little date space for them.

In one of the Temple gardens, Mila was happily surprised by what she saw (and so was Tech when he saw how great a job his friends had done).

There was a purple silk blanket set down in the middle of the garden near a waterfall. And on the blanket sat a little basket with some yummy looking treats for the two of them.

"You did all this for me?" Mila blushed.

"I had a little help." Tech admitted. "Care to join me in this picnic, Milady?"

Mila giggled. "How thoughtful of you."

And the two sat together at the blanket and served themselves some arepas Mirabel and the others made. Luckily, Mirabel knew her mother's recipes by heart and having grown up around Padme's dinner parties, Gabby and Boba both knew what treats went well together.

Lamenta turned herself invisible and watched the two from a safe distance. She had to hold back her aww's as Tech and Mila sat and talked to each other.

Tech told Mila about various missions he and the other Batchers went on, including the one with the Yalbec males trying to mate with them.

"That sounds like a pretty awkward date night." Mila chuckled.

"Technically it was a natural misconception," then Tech remembered Mirabel mentioning that it didn't hurt to let in a little humor, as girls tended to like a guy they could laugh with. "but you are correct that it would be an awkward situation."

Tech thought of something else to talk about.

"So, these gifts your family has. How do they work exactly?"

Mila told Tech all about the miracle the Madrigals were blessed with so many years ago.

"When a Madrigal child turns five years old, we have a special ceremony where they walk up to a new door that appears in our house. Our Casita. My abuela was the old keeper of the magic, and according to the tradition of the family, the giftee touches the candle, then touches their doorknob and is blessed with their gift."

"How do you determine the type of gift given?" Tech asked.

"We never really know what gift a Madrigal is going to get." Mila explained. "All we really know is a gift tends to fit with some aspect of a Madrigal's personality. Like my cousin Dolores. She's a great listener, and she has super hearing. Her brother Camilo likes to make people laugh and play pretend, and he shapeshifts, and his little brother Antonio, who loves animals, can talk to animals. I, on the other hand, have been told I have a strong mind, and thus received the gift of telepathy."

"You must've found a lot of things to do with your ability."

"Well, I actually didn't use it that much, growing up. After Mirabel didn't get a gift, people treated her differently."

Mila told Tech all about how Mirabel got treated as an exception the night the former got a gift but the latter did not. It really upset Mila at the time.

"I knew there had to be a reason it happened, but I didn't have an answer right away." Mila said. "But I made a vow that night that until I found out why Mirabel didn't get a gift or if there was anything that could be done, I would not reveal my gift to anyone. And I stood by her ever since."

"You really are a valorous young woman."

"Gracias." Mila fluttered her eyes.

So far, so good.

"Although, there were a few times I couldn't help secretly using my gift." Mila chuckled. "There was this one time I got so mad when this one kid made fun of Mirabel, and then I snuck out one night and went to his house, and used my gift to make him think his house was haunted."

Tech couldn't help laughing when Mila told him about how she really taught the bully a lesson by making everything in his bedroom levitate and making his door and shutters randomly open and shut, and used her father's bucket to make her voice sound big and scary like a ghost. She even made some red paint she happened to find paint on the wall saying Leave my Mirabel alone or I shall haunt you. Pedro Madrigal

"Poor guy literally ran out of his house, screaming." Mila laughed. "Everyone in the town thought he was crazy, especially because I never did it again, and he began to think he was crazy."

"Remind me never to get on your bad side." Tech said, biting into an arepa. "These are really good."

"You should try my Tia Julieta's other recipes. Her meals are literally remedies, whether you're hurt, sick, or just in a bad mood. But you gotta be quick with my father or Camilo around. Camilo especially always tries to hog as many arepas as he can."

The date looked like it was going pretty well.

"You're pretty lucky to get to see so many places." Mila said. "The most exciting thing that happens back in the Encanto is whenever my family has a party or one of my prototype inventions explodes."

"Does that happen often?" Tech asked.

"It depends on the invention. You should've seen the time I accidentally created sneezing gas and it spread all around Casita. Or when my new super soap exploded all over Casita."

Tech laughed. "What a mess that must have been."

"Yup. On the bright side, Casita was very clean afterward and smelled like flowers without my cousin Isabela filling it with extra flowers."

Meanwhile, Bruno was once again looking into the future, hoping he would see something about Mila and Tech.

I know I promised I would let Mila be, but this is the one time I actually want to have a vision. He thought to himself.

Bruno could see things, but not exactly what he was intending to see. Instead, he could see Obi-Wan getting knocked unconscious, and an older man restrained to a chair.

He could then see Anakin carrying what appeared to be an unconscious Obi-Wan on his back, and then another older man with a beard, and with him was... Rosella!

"Mi hija!" Bruno exclaimed. "Where are you?"

Except, the vision didn't give him a straight answer. Instead, it showed him Lady Morpha successfully stealing the scepter he'd seen in his vision before. And then, he saw her raising it towards the five biological members of the Solaran royal family. And then he saw Boba with the girl he'd seen in the vision before. And then, he finally saw Mila and Tech. Mila looked like she was all dressed up, and she and Tech had their arms wrapped around each other. And then, Bruno saw them leaning closer towards each other and...

"I don't need to see that!" Bruno said, forcing his vision to stop.

Rosella was with some strange man in the future. Bruno feared Rosella may be in grave danger, and he immediately rushed out to find Anakin and/or Obi-Wan.
