Travel companions.

Ya know... I'm fine with having to stay in a dark, smelly, wet cave that ancient people have probably pissed in. And I'm fine with having to stay alert for any bandits that may ambush us. Do you know what I'm not fine with? The fact that I'm traveling with a moody Dragon-Shifter who couldn't stop complaining to save his sad life, and an alcoholic Foxeen who pretty much hates the world and everything that lives in it, including herself. Well... to be honest I'm not exactly normal myself, being part Demon part Shadow Mage (Dad's side) part Human and all. But still. Can those two just chill out for five seconds?!

'Dammit! I'm out of bloody firewood!'

Apparently not... 'Well why don't you go outside and find some more, instead of complaining about it and giving us a mother trucking headache!' I screamed from the corner of the cave, my voice echoing around.

'Why can't you?!' Jet yelled back.

'Because I'm not the one scared of the dark!'

'I ain't scared! I just think it's a good idea to have some lighting so we can actually see what we're doing!'

'Yeah and also lead bandits right to us!'

This was normal for Jet and I. We basically fought over anything and everything whenever we got the chance to. In this case it was firewood.

'And now you're giving me a headache!'

'No one cares, Jet!'

As we continued, we got closer and closer to one another until we were inches away from each other. I was shorter than him, meaning I had to look up to meet his gaze, but by no means that meant I couldn't kick his ass. Suddenly, Jet's hands magically shifted into black scaly claws which he used to swipe at me. Luckily due to my instincts, I saw it coming and backflipped out of the way.

'Too slow!' I taunted, before growing out my wings and lunging towards him with my sword. Somehow, we were able to turn a five-hundred-metre cave into a battlefield. Gotta hand it to Jet, if I wasn't as skilled as I am he probably would've killed me. He ain't no wimp I'll tell you that.

As our 'Battle' continued, the third presence grew impatient and slightly annoyed. And since she wasn't completely sober right now her fuse shortened drastically.

'Lizard!'

'Mutant!'

'Hothead!'

'Odd-eyes!'

'Emo!'

'Fla-'

We were stopped in our tracks as a fireball flew right in between our two faces, and into the wall, which caught us both by surprise and caused us to jump back.

'Will you two lovebirds shut up!' a slightly slurred voice yelled from a dark point of the cave. 'You are making so much of a ruckus that the bandits will be sure to ambush us!'

I looked at Jet. Jet looked at me. We looked at the spot where the voice came from, and then back at each other. 'Lovebirds?' I grimaced.

'Gross!' Jet gagged, sticking out his forked tongue in disgust. 'And you're not exactly silent either, Silver!'

'Fuck off, Dragon Boy!' the female screeched as she jumped out of the shadows in her fox form. She wobbled slightly as she landed, before waddling over to us. 'Honestly if you keep this up you'll end up killing each other.'

'That's the idea!' I scoffed, crossing my arms.

'Not until we get to Resuk, missy!' and with that, she turned her back and waddled off with her tail up.

'Hey look, Iris! It's not everyday you see a fox with two hind ends!' Jet said rather loudly, making me snort in amusement. I only laughed harder when Silver sent a fireball right into the ravenette's face.

'Good. Night.' she snapped, before once again merging into the shadows of the cave.

'How does she only have emotions when she's drunk?' Jet asked as he wiped the soot off his face. 'It's weird...'

'We're not exactly 'normal' either, Jet.' I stated with quotation marks.

'Speak for yourself, Kester!'

I rolled my eyes, before making my way to my part of the cave. 'Get some rest, Dragon Boy. You'll need it to get to Resuk tomorrow.'

'Fiiine...' Jet groaned with frustration. As I said he was really moody, even for a teenage Dragon Shifter. But he agreed to tag along with Silver and I on our quest to Resuk. He could've stayed in Alzdrak for all I care. Wouldn't have made a difference except for the fact we'd have one less mouth to feed. Only positive about him coming with us is the fact he keeps the journey... well... not boring, due to all the fights he and I get into and the fact he mocks Silver for being so sassy when drunk, yet so dead when sober... Okay maybe I'm not completely unhappy he came, but he's still a jerk who needs to lighten up. Like a lot.

'Psst. Iris.'

Oh for fuck sake 'What now?!' I hissed in a hushed tone.

'Why exactly are we going to Resuk again?'

I rolled over so I was facing him, with a 'Really?' look on my face. 'To deliver a potion to my brother. Duh.'

'Brother?' Jet winced 'Great... another Kester...'

'Oh Shut up, Rader!' I spat, before turning my back to him and grumbling a few swear words. 'Oh and I would refrain from saying that to his face.'

'Why?' he scoffed.

I looked over my shoulder and smirked. 'Because he's a general~'

...

...

...

'WHAT?!'

'SHUT UP YOU OVERSIZED LIZARD!' Silver screamed.
