Setting off
My eyes fluttered open as I felt a paw tapping on my cheek, which was annoying since I was dreaming about when my life didn't suck. And by that I mean when I didn't have to deal with my powers, which could destroy an entire kingdom if I let them. Anyway back to reality.
I grunted and waved off the paw, before rolling onto my side and yawning. I heard a sigh behind me, then a slight cough, and before I knew it my ass was getting roasted by fox fire.
'OWOWOWOWOW!!!' I yelped as I dragged my butt against the cave's rocky surface. 'WHAT THE FUCK, SILVER?!'
The grey fox shrugged. 'You wouldn't wake up...' she said in her monotone voice, before walking off. I gave her the middle finger and puffed my cheeks.
'YoU wOuldN'T wAkE uP...' I mimicked as I stood up and dusted myself off. Since I was a demon the fire didn't do much damage to me, though I'm pretty sure Silver would've done it anyway. Why? Because she's a little bitch that's why.
As I rolled up my rug and placed it in my bag, I realised something was missing. But what? Bag, check. Sword, check. Potions for the guard academy, check. Armour, che- wait...
'WHERE IS MY ARMOUR?!'
I heard a snicker from behind me, making me spin round with a rather large scowl on my face. I made eye contact with the raven haired jerk from the other side of the cave, who was leaning against the rocky walls with his arms crossed and a large smirk on his face.
'Jet. Rader!' I growled 'My armour. Where is it?!'
'Oh that old thing~?' he cooed 'I thought it was useless trash, so I threw it out~'
Instantly after he said that, my horns, wings and fangs grew out, as well as my nails growing longer, my eyes went fully crimson, and my skin turned ash.
'That armour-' I snarled in a deep demonic voice as I shot forward and pinned Jet against the wall. 'was an irreplaceable piece of armoury that belonged to queen Emira during the ancient war-'
'Calm down...' Silver sighed, cutting me off before hopping on top a rather large rock. 'Your 'irreplaceable' armour is behind here...'
My eyes widened as I dropped the boy and rushed behind the rock. As the Foxeen had said, my full set of armour was there. This made me sigh with relief, and calmed me down enough to allow me to change back to normal. Which I did.
'Everytime...' I muttered, hitting my forehead. 'Everytime I fall for his childish pranks...'
'You have to admit it was pretty funny.' Jet chuckled from behind me, making me look at him in shock.
'Pretty fun- I almost killed you, Jet!'
'Yeah.' he shrugged 'And?'
Silver and I turned our heads towards each other. 'How is he older than me again?' I asked with squinted eyes, pointing at the boy with my thumb.
'He's seventeen, you're sixteen...' Silver shrugged.
'That's not- I meant- Ugh!' I facepalmed 'Just forget it!'
'That's Silver: 289 Iris: 0' Jet chuckled, before slipping on his black and grey long coat and doing up the buckles. He was right, I never win anything when my opponent's Silver. She's just... how do I explain this... impossible to fight with. Especially when she's sober, because I just can't stare into those dead eyes of hers.
I huffed, and hid behind the rock so I could put on my armour. There wasn't any need because I was wearing my tunic and leggings already, but I don't want to risk Jet tickling me while I'm slipping on my chest plate. Like he has done twice before, the little bastard. Finally I had my blue and silver suit on, and I walked out of my hiding spot only to find Jet and Silver already by the exit.
'Took your time.' Jet muttered, making me frown.
'Hey! Let's see you try putting on a full suit of armour on your own!'
'Would be faster than that, that's for sure.' he scoffed. Jerk jerk jerk jerk JERK!
'Why I oughta-'
'Enough!' Silver said rather loudly, yet still sounding emotionless. 'We have a job to do here guys, and do not have time for squabbling! Am I clear?'
'Yes...' Jet and I sighed, giving each other death glares before turning our backs to each other.
'Good... now Jet please transform so you can check how far we are from Resuk...' the fox ordered as she jumped and sat on my shoulder.
'Why can't Iris? She can fly!' the boy complained.
'Because dragon's are more common around these parts than demons, genius! And we were given orders not to attract too much attention!' I yelled.
Jet opened his mouth to say something, but closed it immediately and grunted in annoyance. He closed his eyes, and a black mist engulfed him which told us he was transforming. When the smoke cleared, in his place stood a three-foot tall black dragon standing on his hind legs. He opened his blue eyes and went down on all fours. 'Better?' he asked telepathically.
'Much better.' I grinned, before making a shooing motion with my gloved hand 'Now shoo. Find us the whereabouts of Resuk.'
With a huff, Jet spread his wings and flew up into the sky. He hovered in one spot and looked around.
'See anything?' Silver yelled at him.
'Not ye- Ah-hah! Found it! A few miles east from here!' he replied as he descended until he was level with my head. 'If we move now we should make it there in time for dinner.'
'Great another full day of walking... luckily my honour is more important to me than my patience otherwise I would've flown there days ago...' I muttered to myself. 'Why didn't we ask for horses again?'
'Because bandits would've heard us that way. Now quit whining and let's go...' Silver urged as she tapped my shoulder with her paws.
'Uh. Ahem?' I frowned at her.
'What? I'm the only reason you guys are still alive... the least you can do is give me a ride.' She exclaimed, with the slightest bit of smug in her voice.
'Ugh. Whatever...' I sighed, rolling my eyes as I began walking to the east of the cave. Which was where Jet said Resuk was. 'Let's go...'
'Sure thing, Kester.' Jet grinned, before perching on top of my head. This made me scoff.
'Um, excuse me asshole! I'm not a free ride!'
'No but the leader carries their teammates with them.'
'That's metaphorical! It doesn't mean I literally have to carry you guys!' I yelled, before pushing both of the four legged creatures off me 'You both have legs, use them!'
Jet pulled a face at me as he once again took to the sky, while Silver dusted herself off and began walking next to my heels. Even though her expression didn't show it, her aura told me she was slightly annoyed. How can I sense her aura? By being a Shadow Mage that's how!
We made our way through the cursed woods, (Don't let the name fool you, because these woods being cursed is bullshit. Nothing but a myth) listening out for any bandits in the area. Luckily for us, it seemed pretty quiet apart from a few rogues we were able to sneak by. Anyway, as we continued forward the clock soon ticked past lunch time. How do I know?
*Grumble*
That's how~
Silver and I turned our heads to look at the dragon, whose cheeks were slightly pink from embarrassment. He gulped, and tried to pretend it didn't happen. Only to have his stomach give out another growl, making him sigh.
'You hungry there, Rader?' I smirked.
'No! Yes...'
I chuckled, and tossed him some mutton which I had been carrying in my pouch. Because I know how hungry dragon's can get, more specifically Jet. 'You're welcome~' I chimed.
'Yeah whatever...' he grumbled as he gulped down the meat. 'Let's just get a move on...'
'As you wish, porcus.' I giggled, which only pissed him off more because I basically just called him a pig in Latin.
'I hate you...'
'Love you too~'
