hello!! so this is a collab between me and httpsjeongin for artistry flair!!

okay first let me thank laela for all the amazing bases she gave me!! she actually sent three bases to me and all of them are wonderful! but I picked this one as it just gave me more of a spark.

at first I was gonna work with her taeyeon base (see image below) but ibispaint started lagging and I couldn't really merge the layers yet because I've barely done any work and I couldn't resize the canvas w/o cutting off the scenery.

anyway, I did change up the model a bit since I couldn't figure out a way to insert magical elements around and I luckily have this mode stock laying around that fits yeji's face/angle from the original so I did a face swap.

I gave her that basic wand so I could add the magic swirly bits! that part was so fun. I just recently customized a brush from ibispaint and I saved it in my custom's as my magic brush and that was what I used there (I'm thinking of making it a shareable resource but we'll have to wait and see). then I just added some light/bokeh overlays and it was done!!

tbh, I'm really proud of the lighting here. as you know i love making manips but I do have a bit of a struggle when it comes to the lighting and shadows and this has to be one of the best works I've made when it comes to that area.

ALSO LAELA IF YOU'RE READING THIS YOU DID AMAZING. I LOVED THE COLLAB AND MAYBE (just maybe) IN THE FUTURE WE COULD DO A COLLAB AGAIN?? this time we'll give each other bases and I'll try giving you one that is as good as the ones you gave me today!!

//// on another note, as I've said above 'I just recently customized a brush'  I actually did it for my new theme. I actually cannot wait to work on it more (since I only finished 2 covers out of 4 + icon&header today) so I decided to give y'all a little preview!!

so yeah, the magic brushes were made for these two and it just so happened that I could use it on other works aswell!!

I think I've now overcome
my dark manips phase and
I'm really going in to fantasy/surreal
themes in my manips. don't
get me wrong, I still do
dark-themed manips but not
like the basic bloody—dark legs
coming out from the eyes I
used to do, my dark edits nowadays
have a sense of fantasy in
them, at least i think so (look
at little monster for example)
