Fathers and Daughters Pt. 1

It had been about a month since the time anomaly at Gotham Harbor and you still haven't a slightest clue as to what it was. You have been investigating it at the cave with Terry and Debra but you still haven't found anything to help.

Debra: Maybe it was just a fluke? Like it picked up on something else.

Y/N: I found compounds that aren't from this time. I even sent some over to Booster and we found that it exists in the years 2032 and 2044. What's weirder, is the piece of fabric we found.

You all turned toward the white fabric you had found at the scene. Conner knew what it was almost immediately.

Terry: Kryptonian armor. So whoever they are, they're probably super strong.

Y/N: Which makes them dangerous. Wherever they are, we need to find them. Who knows what they're planning?
-------
Lois: This sucks.

Hel: Well, it could be worse.

Lois: How could this be worse? How could any of this be worse?

Hel: We could be homeless in Gotham.

Lois:......yeah. Ok. This could be worse.

The two girls were in the run down hotel room that Hel had managed to get with the money she had on her at the time. Lois' powers were still iffy at best, but the girls were more concerned about trying to find a way back to the future.

Lois: I'm gonna go try to fly around a bit.

Hel: Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean, you can't really control them.

Lois flicked a ball of paper at her friend which missed her and flew over her shoulder. Lois stood up and began to change at incredible speeds.

Lois: I'm much better. It's been nearly a week since anything went wonky. I'll show you.

She grabbed her friend's arm and began to drag her toward the window.

Hel: Hey! I'm not suited up!

Lois: Just a quick loop around the park. It's beautiful this hour!

She picked up her friend like she was holding a baby and flew out the window. Hel was not amused.

Hel: You really are crazy sometimes, girl.

Lois: You'll see. I'll get these powers back to 100% and we'll find that Jokar person and make him pay.

Hel: Then we'll go home to? Is that before or after the tooth fairy leaves a billion dollars under your pillow?

Lois: I....

Suddenly, her body began to feel strange. She became weaker and her flight was cut short when she slammed into a tree branch that sent Helena falling to the ground. Helena grabbed onto another branch and swung to safety while Lois fell face first into the ground.

Helena glared at her friend with her hands on her hips.

Hel: You need to grow up, Lois. And you need to see a doctor, or someone, about this before you get someone killed. Like me.

Lois sat up and rubbed her head.

Lois: You have no sense of humor.
---------
Y/N: Do I look like I'm laughing?

Debra: Well, now that I'm looking at you.....no. No you don't.

Debra turned back to the batcomputer to continue her work after her underwear joke while you and Conner looked over the piece of fabric again.

Conner: I asked Kara and she said the same thing. This is definitely Kryptonian. However, we couldn't think of anyone who would have access to this.

You taped your wrist and a small hologram appeared for you and Conner to see.

Y/N: That's not even the weirdest part. We ran some DNA samples and it says that it matched yours and Cassie's.

Conner looked confused.

Conner: How? Wait....no. That can't be right.

Y/N: The data doesn't lie. I checked around for more DNA but we couldn't get anything else.

Conner rubbed his chin while you transfered the data back to the main computer for Debra to work on. Terry was currently out on patrol, Debra was to join him in a bit, while you were still at work with trying to solve this mystery. You had a few ideas but nothing quite grounded with all of the evidence.

Conner: Well, I've been checking around and I haven't found anything. I guess I'm not as good at this detective stuff.

Y/N: That's fine. Just be ready if we do find them. If they're Kryptonian, we'll need you for sure.

Conner nodded.

Conner: Alright. Well, in that case, I'm gonna head back. I'm making dinner for Cassie.

You raised a brow.

Y/N: Again?

Conner: Y-Yeah. Uh, she likes my cooking.

You just nodded.

Y/N: Alright. I'll let you know if we learn anything. Have a good dinner.

Conner gave a two finger salute then flew out of the cave. Your eyes returned to the piece of fabric.
----------
Lois sat on the rooftop of the hotel with her eyes closed as lasers threatened to shoot out. She had a minor incident at the park earlier and now this? It was getting worse. Silently, she counted to herself as the red lasers tried to slip past her eyelids.

Not too far away, Helena was enjoying lunch at a nearby Cafe that she knew from her time. It was a nice day and they were in a nicer part of Gotham. The sun was actually out today.

Waitress: Please, Miss, any coffee? Tea? Espresso?

Hel: Just finishing my éclair. Thanks.

The waitress nodded and walked away. Helena thought back on her friend and sighed. Completely out of control and in denial. Someone's going to get seriously hurt.

Her eyes landed on a punk who was slipping his hand into a woman's purse. Helena picked up her fork and threw it sudtley which stabbed into his shoulder.

Always take care of people before you take care of yourself. There's time for an éclair tomorrow.

Helena found herself back in the park where she sat on the edge of the water fountain. Whatever was happing was beyond their skills to fix. They needed help. They needed.....

Boy: Watch out!

Suddenly, a soccer ball landed in the water which caused it to splash up and soak Helena's arm. The father rushed over.

Father: I am so sorry, miss.

Hel: It's fine! It'll dry.

Boy: Dad! Throw me the ball!

The man threw the ball back and began to lecture the boy about being careful. Helena watched the two before she sighed.

Sometimes, you just might need a parent.

Funny enough, Lois came to the same conclusion.
------------
Y/N: Alfred, could you make me some coffee? Please?

Alfred: Of course. Black as the night?

Y/N: You know what I like.

Alfred bowed and headed back upstairs while you sat at your computer. Maybe it was time to toss this investigation to the side and work on something else. Maybe Joker was running around or the Penguin. Actually, Penguin was still MIA after Jason's stunt and the Joker has been laying low. Somehow.

Your eyes landed on the piece of fabric.

Y/N: Who are you?

Suddenly, there was an alert. An intruder was on the grounds.
---------
Helena was croched down on a tree branch with a pair of night vision binoculars. She wore her costume for convenience.

Hel: Ok. Option 1. Walk in through the front door and say "I'm home". Too flip. Option 2. Lead with "into your daughter from the futrue". Too damn weird.

That left option three. Better off with the cave, anyway...who knows what your relationship with the staff was compared to the future. She doubts it was the same with Alfred.

Helena jumped from the tree and began to move across the yard stealthily to avoid being seen. Alfred turned to head back into the cave with a cup of coffee for you, when he caught her through the window.

Alfred: What is Miss Bertinelli doing? It's late.

Helena found the rock she always used in the future and pushed it aside. Bingo. She jumped through the hole and landed in the cave system below.

She was in.

In dirty water, that is.

Hel: Ew. I guess dad hasn't cleaned this up yet. I just hope he used the same frequency on this door.

She pulled out her device and began to hack as you watched her on the screen.

Y/N: What is Helena doing here so late? And why isn't she just using the clock entrance?

Alfred placed the cup of coffee in front of you.

Alfred: I was wondering the same thing.  Perhaps she just wanted to test her skill?

Y/N: That's fine but, that door doesn't work right. I've been meaning to have Tim fix it but we've never gotten around to it. She'll be there all night trying to get it open.

Alfred: Perhaps you can just unlock it?

You shrugged and clicked a button on the computer.

Y/N: Cancel encryption block.

There was a quiet ding before the door open. Hel smiled as she tucked the device back into her pocket.

Hel: That was, easy. Well, no place like home.

She walked through the hidden door and found herself inside of the batcave.

Hel: Sort of. Wonder if it'll look more like home when he's older. I have to remember that he's only slightly older than me. Still a rookie.

She looked over at some of the glass cases and smiled.

Hel: Still has some cool stuff though.

Y/N: Didn't anyone teach you not to touch things in other people's homes?

Helena turned around with her crossbow at the ready, only to stop when she saw you. You were so, young. Ew.

Hel: Batman.

Y/N: Huntress. Or, a Huntress. I just got done talking to the real one. Who are you?

Hel placed her crossbow back into her holster and straightened up.

Hel: Sorry about the break-in but we have to talk. I really need your help.

You just looked at her. She looked, faintly familiar. This wasn't Helena, that was for sure. Helena would never have black lips. Didn't go with her style.

Hel: Let me...

She stepped forward which activated the trap you had set. Suddenly, Hel was trapped in a cage of blue lasers. She looked around confused as you slowly approached her.

Y/N: Now you can explain.

Hel looked at you and sighed.

Hel: Short version, I'm your daughter from the future.

It's not everyday you catch a thief trying to break into the batcave. Weird thing was, she moved like a Robin.

Hel: And I'm in a little trouble. Think you could let me out now?

Y/N: Try again.

Hel groaned.

Hel: Fine. Long version. My name is Helena Wayne. The daughter of Y/N Wayne and Cassandra Cain. Also known as Batman and Orphan. Me and my friend, Lois Kent, were fighting crime and we were sent here by this Joker imposter who calls himself Jokar. Now me and my friend are stuck here. She's Power Girl and I'm Huntress.

That, was way to detailed to be fake.

Hel: You okay?

Y/N: I'm fine.

Hel: So do you believe me?

You looked at her for a moment, before you shot her with a tranquilizer.

You were Batman. You trusted this girl with your heart. Not your mind. First, you had to run some tests. After that, maybe you'll fully believe her.
