THIRTY TWO

THIRTY TWO

"LARISSA COHEN COME BACK HERE!"

"Let me think about that, NO!"

Larissa Cohen yelled as she ran, finding that her stamina was a lot better since she was able to run away from her trainer Lucy, without nearly dying from exhaustion.

Lucy Appleton shook her head with a smile as she chased the Cohen girl down, since she had tried to flee from another training session because she had wanted to intensify the workout.

The only reason that she had wanted to intensify the Brazilian's workout, was to ensure that she was quick and able enough to avoid and defend herself against her grandfather when he inevitably came after her.

Larissa had sworn Lucy to secrecy about what she had told her when she had fled to the woman's hotel room, since she did not want her uncles finding out about what she went through, since they would force her to sell her father's house in São Paulo, and that was something that she did not want to do.

What she wanted to do, was to ensure that her grandfather went to prison for what he did to her father, along with any helpers that he had in the process.

Then, she wanted to renovate her father's house and ensure that when she eventually settled down herself, that the house was filled with all of the love and happiness that it was once filled with.

"You can't run from me! I have the stamina of a stallion!" Lucy yelled as she noticed that the girl that was very fond of, was trying to flee in to a garage.

"Frenchie!"

Larissa ran in to the Haas garage, seeing Romain smiling at her in confusion, since he was incredibly confused as to why she was running and why she had ran to him and used his nickname that she had created for him.

"Miss Brazil, why are you running?"

Romain Grosjean grabbed on to her shoulders, a smile on his face as he stared at his favorite driver on the grid.

"I'm being chased by a murderer, she's trying to kill me, I swear." Larissa panted as he handed her his water bottle so that she could calm herself and her breathing down.

"COHEN! YOU'RE NOT INVISIBLE!"

Lucy stood at the entrance to the Haas garage, glaring at the girl who she had been seeing as a daughter figure, who was being aided by Romain Grosjean.

Romain smirked, pushing the Cohen girl behind him.

"I don't see her anywhere, so she must be." Larissa attempted to hold back a snort at the words leaving the French man's lips, finding him stupid but funny.

Lucy rolled her eyes as she stepped in to the Haas garage, approaching the two who still stood in the exact same spot .

As she was about to reach the two of them, Larissa released a squeal as hands shot to her waist, lifting her up in to the air.

"You can't take her! She's our girl!"

Kevin Magnussen grinned proudly as he held the young Cohen girl on his shoulders, seeing Lucy fail to hide a smile as they were protecting her and acting like best friends should.

"I'll find Zahra and get her to bring you down for your training session." Lucy raised an eyebrow at the Brazilian, seeing her laugh lightly.

"Zahra won't help you, you work for the rival team." Lucy furrowed her eyebrows together.

"She's almost always in Mercedes, they've practically adopted her, so good luck, Luce."

"Mercedes have practically adopted you." Lucy countered seeing the Brazilian girl tut her. She tried to ignored the warm feeling in her chest that was forming, since the girls father had always called her Luce.

"Nope, that's Toto not Mercedes." Larissa winked at her trainer, before tapping the shoulder of Kevin Magnussen, causing him to run away and out of his garage, with the Cohen girl still on his shoulders.

"Please don't play Temple Run whilst I'm on your shoulders this time!" Larissa squealed as Kevin ran in a zig-zag motion.

"Merda!"

She cursed as she was forced to duck, narrowly avoiding hitting her head on a sign for the Williams garage.

"Sorry!"

Kevin apologised as he ran in to a garage that he knew that they would both be able to hide in, without being murdered by Larissa's trainer.

However, Lucy hadn't even bothered to give chase after them, since she had just walked back to the garage of Toro Rosso to grab a cup of coffee, leaving them to whatever chaotic mess that they would get up to.

"Hey, perceval."

Larissa laughed at the confused face of Charles Leclerc, who had turned around at the sound of one of his many middle names, and found Larissa Cohen sitting on the shoulders of Kevin Magnussen.

"Hello..." Charles chuckled as he smiled at the two of them, his eyes sparkling as he stared at the Cohen girl.

Kevin carefully lifted his best friend off his shoulders, placing her down on to the ground in front of the Monégasque driver before kissing her temple.

"Hey dude." Kevin greeted the Leclerc boy with a side hug, with smiles on their faces, since the pair were good friends.

Kevin liked Charles.

He had been one of the first people to welcome the Monégasque in to Formula One, and whilst he wasn't often seen around with him, he still was close to the young driver.

Though, Charles could never compare to how much he loved his best friend, Larissa Cohen.

Kevin often drank with Larissa, especially if one of them did well during races or got points, and whilst it started as a one time thing, they ended up drinking regularly together.

Even if they didn't drink together, they would chill in each others hotel rooms and either watch a movie, play games, or just have a takeaway.

When one of them was down and needed someone to talk to, even if it was not to cheer them up, just to talk and let out what was getting them down, they would talk all night about their feelings.

He could confidently say that Larissa Kimi Cohen was his best friend.

"We might need to hide from Lucy, Coração. Can you help us please?" Larissa questioned the Monégasque, snapping the Magnussen man out of his thoughts.

"I can hide Kevin." Marcus Ericsson arrived in to the Sauber garage, patting the Danish man on his back.

Kevin grinned, nodding his head. "Please, man. I've helped Lis run from Lucy so she might kill me."

Marcus nodded his head, walking away with Kevin as he allowed the Haas driver to hide in his driver trailer.

Charles held his hand out to the Brazilian, with a soft smile on his face that he reserved solely for her.

"My trailer is free for you to hide in, ma princesse." Charles smiled at her, his eyes sparkling as he looked at the beautiful woman that was in front of him.

Larissa smiled, taking his hand in her own, and allowed him to walk her to his garage, so that she could hide from Lucy.

Charles noticed her sigh of relief as she sat down in his driver trailer and began to make her a double espresso, making sure that he added just the perfect amount of syrup in to it.

As soon as he handed her the drink, he noticed the gleeful smile that filled her tired face, the happiness reaching her eyes as her dark brown eyes sparkled as if the sun was hitting them.

"It's perfect, merci." Larissa thanked him, gently pressing a soft kiss on to his cheek in appreciation.

"Are you sleeping?" Charles blurted out, his own eyes widening at the words that had escaped his lips.

"You-you just look really tired." Charles tried to defend himself from his own inability to stay quiet around her.

"No." Larissa admitted sheepishly, shaking her head as she stared at the ground.

"Why not?" Charles questioned, gently placing his hand on her knee in an attempt to offer her comfort.

"I have nightmares, about my dad." Larissa lifted her gaze to stare at the Monégasque, seeing his face fill with a look of sympathy, but also familiarity.

"I don't want to sell the house, but every time that I sleep there, I have nightmares about my dad's crash. They won't go away."

Charles nodded his head sadly. He knew what it was like to lose a father.

"I could move in, so that when you have a nightmare, I could help you." Charles offered, since he didn't want her to have to be alone when she awoke from the worst moment of her life before her eyes.

"No, no, you have to do that. I haven't been staying there lately, because I feel like someone is always in the house with me so it's okay." Larissa smiled gently at the boy, a grateful look passing through her eyes.

Charles furrowed his eyebrows together in confusion and worry. "Where have you been staying then?"

"At Lucy's hotel room but I sleep on the sofa in her room."

Charles nodded his head as he listened to her, feeling sorry for her having to go through it.

"You still have nightmares when you're there, don't you?"

Larissa didn't need to speak to him, she just nodded her head as her eyes became glassy.

"Stay with me."

Larissa's mouth dropped open in surprise, seeing that by the looks of his face, that he was completely serious.

"I know you. You'll feel guilty if you tell Zahra that you have nightmares every night, and she'll feel guilty because you gave her your apartment in Monaco." Charles sighed as he spoke, seeing that she was hesitating.

"You can stay with me, at my place, for as long as you need. I have a spare bedroom so that you're not sleeping on a sofa, and you won't be alone if you have a nightmare, I'll be there to help you."

Charles finished, his hand rubbing circles on the knee of the Brazilian to reassure her, since he didn't want her to panic or feel uncomfortable at all.

"Are you sure?" Larissa's voice broke as she spoke,  cracking due to the emotions that she felt building up inside of her.

"Of course I am. I care about you, ma princesse. I want you to be safe and I want you to be happy. You need your sleep to avoid having another crash, and besides, I like your company." Charles blushed slightly as she smiled.

Larissa's arms shot around the Monégasque as she pulled him in to a hug, feeling his arms immediately shoot to her waist to hug her back.

"Is this a yes to staying with me?" Charles chuckled as he relaxed in to the hug, his heart beating rapidly as he inhaled the scent of her, which he had discovered that he loved.

"It's a definite yes." Larissa nodded against him, her own heart beating rapidly at the proximity between the two.

She vowed to pay Charles back for his sacrifice and help, since she would be eternally grateful.

"Hey, Toto."

Toto Wolff smiled as he noticed the Brazilian that was Larissa Cohen, walk in to his garage.

"Hey, Z."

Zahra Bailey cheered as her best friend walked in to the Mercedes garage, wearing Mercedes merch since Toto had made that a rule for the two of them.

"Hey, lis. Did you get the message that Lewis sent you?" Zahra questioned her best friend, as she stood up from her spot on the table where Toto had been teaching her to play the game of Chess.

"Yeah I did, and the extra message that you very clearly sent with it." Larissa laughed as she pulled her best friend in to a hug.

As Zahra sat down, Larissa leant against her as she eyed the chess board carefully.

Larissa thought for a moment, before reaching over her best friend to grab a piece, moving it to a position that she knew would mean that Zahra would win.

"Checkmate."

Toto clapped his hands together in a round of applause as he discovered that he had lost, his proud eyes staring up at the two of his girls.

"Did you listen to the second message?" Zahra pouted up at her best friend, happy that she had finally beaten the team principal of Mercedes in a game of Chess.

"I did, indeed."

Larissa reached in to the bag that she had been carrying before she pulled out a plastic bag, placing it down in front of the Bailey woman who grinned excitedly.

"My favorite! I love you, Lis." Zahra giggled as she opened up the bag, slightly covering it from the Wolff man.

She had unknowingly started her period whilst she was at the Mercedes garage, and with the help of Lewis Hamilton and his physiotherapist, Angela Cullen, had managed to change the pair of trousers that had blood on them.

She had asked Lewis to text the Cohen girl to bring period products to the Mercedes garage, because she had needed them and she didn't want to risk going to the shop nearby and risk bleeding through her trousers again.

And with Larissa being Larissa, she had dropped everything to do it, even going as far as adding heat pads, spare trousers and chocolate in to the bag for her, since she knew what it was like.

She had blamed her early period on the stress of not being able to afford rent and then moving in to Larissa's apartment in Monaco, of which she was incredibly grateful for.

"Go." Larissa whispered to her best friend, allowing the Bailey woman to run and change, to which she did.

"How are you doing, Larissa." Toto Wolff stood to his feet, before he pulled the girl in to a hug, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head.

"I'm okay. I needed to speak to you actually about something." Larissa greeted the Wolff man with a gentle smile.

"Is it about my offer?" Toto rose an eyebrow at the Brazilian, hoping to see her nod her head, as he hoped that she had accepted his offer.

"Hmm." Larissa nodded her head, as she reached a hand up to push a piece of her hair out of her face since it had fallen in front of her eyes.

"Both of your offers, actually."

Toto couldn't help but smile, happiness filling his body.

"I want you to be written down as my emergency contact, and I agree to your offer."

"I want to drive for Mercedes."
