I walked into the meeting room, and all eyes were on me. I always loved the attention, and the fact that my staff trusted me so much.
"Hello, I'm sure you're all wondering why I called an emergency staff meeting," I said as I looked at them.
They nodded and then Seth was the first to talk. "Yeah, that's kind of why we're all here."
I crossed my arms, and rolled my eyes. Seth was always the one with snarky remarks and comments. Becky was constantly telling me that Seth had a crush on me, but I didn't believe her.
"I just wanted to make sure that you were all aware that we have a busy month ahead of us," I started. "We have a wedding this weekend, a business convention next week, and of course the big inspection of the hotel is at the end of the month."
They all looked at me and then Alexa raised her hand. I felt like we were in school, and I was the teacher.
"Yes, Alexa?"
"That seems like an awful lot, and I feel like we're kind of short staffed."
I nodded my head, knowing she was right. I only had four people in the dining area, and I knew that wasn't enough for the amount of clients that would be rolling in to the hotel.
"Alexa, who's going to come work here? Nikki quit to go work in the Bahamas, and I don't think Paige will come back," Sasha reminded her.
Now I really felt out of the loop. My staff knew more than I did, and I knew that wasn't a good thing. Nikki told me she left to get married, but now they were saying she got a different job.
"Didn't Nikki leave to get married?" I asked them.
"Ha, she thought about it, but then her fiancé told her that he's just not ready," Dean laughed and high-fived Seth.
I just looked at all of them, but I needed to get more staff. This wasn't working, there wasn't going to be enough of them.
"Guys, I'll work on getting more staff for the upcoming events, that way you guys aren't overworked this month," I told them and they all sighed a sigh of relief.
I dismissed them and then decided that I was going to start advertising for staff positions. We were never short before, but when my staff said they needed extra help, I knew that wasn't good.
"Charlotte, we've got a problem," Becky waves me down as I walked to the front desk to meet her.
"Which is?" I asked.
"You know how you were expecting the hotel inspector at the end of the month?"
I nodded, wanting her to get to the point. I always wanted people to tell me what was going on, and if they didn't, I started to get angry.
"Becky, what's the point?"
"He just showed up."
My mouth dropped open, and I wanted someone to pinch me and tell me that this was all a bad dream.
However, I knew this was a harsh reality.
"What? Are you kidding me?" I asked my best friend.
"No, I just handed his assistant, who is a major cutie I might add-"
"Becky, stop flirting with the clients," I reminded her.
"It wasn't flirting, I'm just saying that he's cute, but anyway, I handed him the room key."
I rushed away from the desk, hoping to stop Kevin Owens. He had been the inspector for about three years, and was a hard critic to please. I also was supposed to meet him.
"Mr. Owens, hi! Thank you for coming, we hope you enj-" he cut me off.
"Shhh. I'm here to do my job, and I don't need you kissing up to me. I'm going to give an honest review, and I hope that you're not just a rich daddy's girl," he said as he threw his sunglasses to his assistant.
"Sorry sir," I said as I shook his hand.
"It's alright, sorry I'm early. I usually don't show up unannounced, but I felt as if I needed more time to inspect your hotel."
I nodded, not wanting to push his buttons, as I knew how prestige he could be.
All of a sudden, I saw Alexa come over with two glass of water. His assistant took one, and then that left Kevin's.
"Is this room temperature with three cubes of ice?" He asked the blonde haired girl.
"Of course, sir."
He took the glass and then chugged the water, placing the cup back on the tray. He took his assistant's, not even giving him time to finish the water.
"Zayn, that's enough. Go take the bags up to my room."
He nodded, and I assumed that guy's last name was Zayn, but I guess it could've been his first name. However, Kevin usually called people by their last names.
"Flair, I hope you don't let your dad down," he said as he snapped his fingers and another person came to his aid. "I'll have you know, Glorious Enterprises got a five-star rating."
That made me want to puke. The fact that Sebastian Roode could get s five-star rating really pissed me off. I wanted to go and complain to Bobby, but I knew I couldn't, as that was his dad's hotel.
"I know I can do it," I said as I turned on my heel.
"Only time will tell," was the last thing I heard him say before going to find Bobby.
