Tsunami and Tetra had gone out to find the best route out of the trench early that morning, leaving Hurricane and Inferno back at the camp. When the two best friends returned, Tetra was not done giggling, but Tsunami's face betrayed no emotion what-so-ever. Tsunami had obviously told Tetra about Hurricane taking her to see the jellyfish and their kiss. Inferno knew Tsunami wasn't going to tell her anything, Tsunami was obviously the kind of mer who didn't trust easily, as she was still keeping her eye on Inferno. 

  But Inferno could see the glances that Hurricane and Tsunami kept giving each other. Oh god. Inferno thought. If I have to keep watching them make eyes at each other, I'm going to cut off my tail with my battle axe. And I don't even know if Hurricane is my father. If he is, then this has gone from slightly strange to really weird and crazy. Not just crazy, but Hammerhead shark ate my baby crazy.

     Inferno was pulled out of her thoughts by Tetra, who was poking her in the ribs. She was holding out a pack toward Inferno. She grabbed it, and slung it over her back, then grabbed her battle-axe and followed the group as they swam away.
