Y/N: I'm sorry what did you say?

Bruce, or Batman without the mask, spun around the chair in his normal brooding manner.

Bruce: I need you to go work alongside Batwoman to investigate another Metahuman Trafficing Ring in Gotham. You'll temporarily be instated into Bat Inc.

Is Batman a narcissist or were you looking too deep?

Y/N: That's the team with Stephanie and Tim right?

Bruce: With Cassandrea and Clayface as well.

Y/N: Oh. That's pretty cool. I get to work with three of my friendsdidyousayclayface?

Bruce nodded. He pulled up Clayface's file on the computer.

Bruce: He's turned a new leaf. He won't be a problem.

You nodded and headed to pack your bags.

You showed up at the location Bruce gave you and took a deep breath. Inside was your new team. Temporarily of course.

Y/N: I wonder what this entails.

You took a step forward but your head began to throb in pain. You grabbed it in an attempt to stop the stinging. You closed your eyes but only to see something strange.

You were back in the future where you were flying around Gotham. Your Gotham. You landed on a roof and looked around before taking off your mask. You answered your phone which was ringing.

Y/N: Hey Dana. How's it hanging?

Who's Dana?

Dana?: Nothing much. Just missing my favorite person.

Y/N: Ah. I'm missing you to but I got to be here. Wayne is really pushing for this job you know?

Dana?: Yeah i know. I just wish he would give you a night off every once and a while.

You walked around the roof as you continued the conversation.

Y/N: Yeah me to. At the same time this job is really important. I can't just leave it.

Dana?: I know sweetie. Just take care of yourself please.

Y/N: Of course. Love you.

You stopped in front of a window where you saw your reflection. Only it wasn't you. You didn't recognize the person in the mirror. He was someone else.

Dana?: I love you to Terry.

The line went dead as you stared at the reflection. Or rather, this Terry person was staring at the reflection. He smiled as he pulled the mask back on but this time you were back in the present. You realized you were on the floor with three people around you.

Tim: It looks like he just passed out. Wonder what happened.

Stephanie: It doesn't matter. We need to get him inside.

Cassandra noticed you were awake and helped you sit up as you rubbed your head. Tim and Stephanie both kneeled down to get to your level.

Tim: Hey bud. You ok?

Stephanie: What happened?

You looked around to make sure you were in the right time.

Y/N: I honestly have no idea. I just got a headache and saw some stuff.

Stephanie: Stuff? What stuff?

You stood up with Cassandra's help.

Y/N: Who knows? Can we just get inside? I need to unpack my stuff and get briefed on the mission.

Tim: Yeah that's a good idea. You can rest inside.

You had dropped your stuff off in your temporary room and went to the mission room where Kate was waiting for you.

Kate: Good to see you awake and well. Tim said you had passed out?

You nodded as you looked around the base.

Y/N: Nice little set up you guys got here. Pretty neat.

Kate smiled at the compliment. You took a seat at one of the chairs at the table where she slid you a file. You checked it out. Kate watched you read the paper and noticed your posture.

Kate: You ok kid?

You didn't answer.

Kate: Kid?

You snapped out of your thoughts and acknowledged Kate who was looking at you worriedly.

Kate: You ok? You seem out of it.

You brushed it off and went back to reading.

Kate: Y/N?

You felt the sting return causing you to flinch.

Kate: Y/N?

You slowly started to sway as the room began to spin.

Kate: Terry!

You snapped up and found yourself back in the cave but it was 2050. You were standing there in the middle of the room in the suit but you had the mask off. You turned around where the voice came from.

Terry: What do you want now Matt?

Matt: You keep spacing out duffus.

Terry: Who you calling duffus you duffus?

Bruce: Both of you behave.

Terry turned around to face the old man who was still staring at the monitor with Nissa.

Nissa: Maybe he moved out of Gotham?

Bruce just grunted at joke while Nissa rolled her eyes.

Nissa: Whatever old man.

She walked down the steps towards you both with her arms crossed.

Nissa: Looks like Rewire is still on the loose. I think Bruce got a few more grey hairs looking for him.

Terry: Rewire? That guy is still around? I thought we locked him up in Arkham.

Matt elbowed his brother who looked just about ready to smack the living hell out of him.

Matt: If you would stop messing around and daydreaming about Dana you would know that he broke out.

Nissa: Yeah what's up with that? You've been out of it for a while now. What's on your mind Terr?

Terry just shook his head and walked over to his friend's desk. Said friend was typing away with such speed it made his head spin just watching.

Terry: How's it going over here Max?

Max: It's going Terr. Just a few more minutes and I might have a lead as to where we can look for Rewire.

Terry smiled as he looked around the cave. His eyes fell on his shadow. The dark outline of him was staring back.

Your eyes shot open as you awoke in a cold sweat. You sat up and looked around before noticing you were in your room.

Y/N: What is happening?

You noticed Bruce sitting in the arm chair next to your bed.

Bruce: You're awake.

You slowly laid back down on the bed.

Y/N: What happened?

Bruce: Kate brought you here after you passed out. I was wrong to send you out in your state. Clearly something isn't right.

He stood up and started walking out.

Y/N: Wait what?! You're taking me off the job?!

Bruce: You can't fight in your condition. You will be off all missions until further notice.

Y/N: You can't do this Bruce. I need to be able to go out and...

Bruce turned around with his eyes narrowed in anger.

Bruce: And what Y/N? Die? You will stay in the Manor until I say you are good enough to go back out. There will not be an argument.

You got out of bed angry.

Y/N: This is bullshit Bruce! You know I have my own mission.

Bruce: How do you expect to be able to return to the future if you can't even stand up straight?

You looked down and noticed that you were indeed hunched over. Your legs were weak but you didn't even notice.

Y/N: I'm fine.

Bruce: Get back in bed Y/N.

Y/N: I said I'm fine.

Bruce: Y/N.

Y/N: I said I...

Bruce grabbed the collar of your shirt and kicked your feet out of under you before tossing you in the bed.

Bruce: Don't make me do this.

You stood back up and balled your fists. Just then Stephanie, Tim, Cassandra, and Debra entered the room. They realized the situation and they had to quickly find out what to do. You rushed Bruce but he easily dodged due to your weakened state. You tried to attack him again but he caught your arm and twisted it behind your back before pushing you forward.

Bruce: Don't make me do this.

You yelled and continued to attack Bruce who kept dodging and countering. Finally he had enough and grabbed your wrist before slamming a knee into your gut knocking you down.

Stephanie: Y/N!

Bruce: Stay down. Final warning.

You held yourself up.

Y/N: Not going to happen.

You stood up and faced him.

Y/N: I have a job to do. I need to protect people and I need to get back to my time. I won't let you of all people keep me from doing that Bruce.

Bruce looked down and sighed.

Bruce: Then you leave me no choice.

He dashed toward you but you couldn't react before he slammed a hand to your neck causing you to get knocked out. You collapsed on the floor limp.

Cassandra and Debra rushed to you while Stephanie and Tim just watched. Bruce looked down at you sadly before turning away.

Bruce: Make sure he gets rest. Do not let him out of the Manor for any reason.

He walked out of the room while the two girls got you into bed. Tim walked over and placed a hand on your shoulder.

Tim: I hate to say this buddy but, this is for the best. Trust me.

He walked out before Debra followed. Stephanie stayed for a moment before leaving as well. Only Cassandra stayed. She watched over you as you slept.
