She left. With a tear-stained face and smudged make up while she was clad in her wedding dress-- she walked out the door.
And now he was left behind.
"No, Perrie, please," Zayn cried out, "I love you, don't leave!"
"Zayn."
"Perrie, please don't," he said weakly as he continued to cry. He was full-on sobbing now as he watched Perrie walk out the door in her wedding gown after throwing her engagement ring to the ground, "We'll work it out! Please! Come back--"
"Zayn!" he heard her voice shout, yet it sounded so far away. But didn't she just walk out the door? "Zayn!"
His brows furrowed as she continued calling him; he looked around her hotel room but she was nowhere in sight, the only trace she left there was the things she left on the ground and her sweet smell that was lingering on his nostrils, "Perrie! Come back!" he screamed as he heard her voice calling out for him once again.
"Babe, I'm here. It's okay, I wont leave you. Open your eyes," her voice said.
Open your eyes? But weren't his eyes already open?
"Babe, babe. Wake up, yeah? It's okay, I'm here. It's just a dream." Her voice sounded clearer now. It was hushed and sweet and it sounded like she whispered it right in his ear. "Wake up, baby."
He complied and slowly fluttered his puffy eyes open and his heart immediately raced as he saw her infront of his face, looking beautiful like what she always is. She had a calm smile pulled on her face before she leaned down and pressed a kiss on his lips.
"Hi."
Zayn was almost certain this girl infront of him was a beautiful nightmare, but the way she spoke to him and the way her eyes glimmered while looking at him made him wanna believe this was real. This Perrie didn't stayed alone in her hotel room hours after the supposed wedding. This Perrie didn't throw his engagement ring to the ground and this Perrie most certainly didn't leave him behind. He wasn't sure if he was still dreaming but if by chance he was, he didn't want to wake up.
"You're here," he whispered. He suddenly trudged forward to pull her into his arms, making her fall on top of him on after he snapped out of the little daze he was in. He barely noticed the wetness that were still staining his face as he hid onto her neck, "I love you," he sobbed, before feeling like saying it once wasn't enough so he started repeating it over and over along with some kisses to her neck, "I love you, I love you, I love you," he pulled away and grabbed her hand just to see if the ring was there, which it was, making him press his lips on her knuckles, "I love you."
Perrie had this confused smile on her face as she took in what Zayn looked like, he was crying and telling her he loved her again and again like she'd be gone any minute, but then again, he was screaming for her not to leave him in his sleep, "Bad dream?" she asked as he hugged him tighter to comfort him. Seeing him cry was a rare occassion so watching him break down infront of her was causing her ache in her heart.
He just nodded, finding comfort in the warmth radiating from her. He breathed her scent in, just for assurance that yes, she was infact by his side and not running away from him.
"Let's get married," he suddenly blurted out.
"We will," she told him with a laugh. She wasn't exactly sure why he said that so suddenly but she guessed it had something to do with his dream. She wanted to ask what the dream was about but seeing that it made him so upset, she'd rather not. She had an idea that it was about her leaving him and it just made her want to jump right into his dream and scream at herself for giving her Zayn false ideas; she will never leave him.
"I want to get married now." he breathed on her neck making a shiver crawl down her spine.
"Zayn, look at me," she put a finger under his chin to tilt his head up, "It doesn't matter whether we get married today or tomorrow or even after ten years. I love you and I will never leave you, okay? So stop worrying."
He was so grateful she said that. But at the same time, he felt kind of guilty for being hesitant about her in the past. He regretted all those times he should've made her feel secure that, yes, he will always be beside her and yes, he wanted to be with her the rest of their lives, just like what she always did. But no matter how guilty and how much regret he felt, he knew he couldn't do anything with the past now, no matter how much he wanted to change it. All he could do was start committing on her, and promise he'd never stop doing it.
"You sure you can wait till after ten years?" he playfully asked.
Perrie was quick to rephrase, "Well, I mean, I don't really mean ten years, I just-"
He cut her stammering off by kissing her, "I can't wait that long either."
She smiled, "I knew it."
He didn't respond, though. He just started at her; her bare face where he could clearly see the freckles he always loved, her wild hair which he was so sure she'd ran her fingers through so many times now, and her eyes-- those big blue eyes that had seen him in his miserable state. Those eyes that cried tears just for him. Those eyes that held this certain awe in them whenever she looked at him. He stared at those big blue eyes that always saw the good in him, even in his worst. Those eyes that stayed shining, only for him, "Perrie?"
"Yeah?"
"Promise you won't leave me?" he said seriously, trying to stop his voice from faltering.
"What? I already told you, I won't," she said with a little laugh.
He leaned closer to her and rested his forehead on hers before whispering, "Promise me."
She smiled. She loved it when he's like this. He always looked so composed and acted so tough but she knew, and she knew very well, that he had these moments when he was overwhelmed with so much emotions that he couldn't help but be vulnerable sometimes. And she loved every bit of it.
"I promise, I won't ever leave."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife."
Zayn leaned in until his breath was fanning on her face before staring down at her lips and smiling, "Guess your stuck with me now. You have no choice but to stay by my side because I will never let you leave."
"I'll never even try even if I did have a choice," Perrie confessed, eyes flickering from Zayn's lips to his eyes.
"You may now kiss the bride."
Zayn gently placed his hand on her neck to pull her closer and pressed a lingering kiss on Perrie's sweet lips.
They finally took a step forward together, without anyone left behind. Only his fears. And he gladly let that fear free.
He pulled away, fluttering his eyes open only to see her beaming brightly at him, reminding him that this is what he wanted and he wouldn't miss it for the world.
"Hi Mrs. Malik."
Alternate End.
