It was the morning of their wedding day and of all the things to forget, they forgot to pick up the wedding rings. F*cking rings.

That was why Zayn was on his way to the jeweler -- the ring-maker -- or whatever the f*ck that was called. He was grumbling as he got out of his car and made his way towards the door of the shop because it was his wedding in a few hours and he was out to get their rings. He was still uncertain about the whole thing but he blamed it on the nerves, maybe it was pre-wedding jitters. And besides, that wasn't the point.

He went inside the shop and was met by a man who was already staring at him, like he was expecting Zayn to walk inside the store at that exact moment, and he had this creepy smile on his face.

"Uh," Zayn scratched the back of his head, unsure of what to do with himself as he stood there, waiting for the man to just read his mind and know what he already wanted which was, well, he didn't. The man just stood there, anticipating what Zayn was about to say still with that creepy smile on his face. Zayn cleared his throat, "Um, yeah. I'm here to get the rings? For Perrie Edwards?"

A pause, "You mean Perrie Malik?" the man asked.

Zayn paled, "No, um," he put both his hands inside his pockets so he'd refrain himself from making awkward hand gestures, "Not yet. The wedding's today. So technically, no."

"May I know how are you related to her?" the man asked.

"I'm his boyfriend," he stated before he realized that he was more than that, "Fiancé, I mean."

The man laughed which made Zayn's brows crease, what was so funny? "What?"

"Nothing, it's just that usually when guys hear their girl's name with their last name before being married, they're happy," he chuckled once again which made Zayn impatient, "And then there's you, who corrected me."

Zayn cleared his throat, his jaw tensing, "Well if you mind giving me the rings now, then I might be able to actually make Perrie a Malik."

He was annoyed. Did it really seem like that? It wasn't like he did not want to marry Perrie, he just wasn't sure.

"Right, the rings." The man said before disappearing inside his store.

Perrie Malik. The name, no matter how scared he was, actually made him feel warm inside. It was like he'd be a part of her, no matter where she goes or no matter how far apart they'd be, she'd be constantly reminded of him.

All he has to do was marry her.

But then the man came back holding a small box with two rings inside and his fears went back to life. The rings shined as the light inside the store reflected on them. He saw as clear as a day how beautiful the rings were. But as beautiful as they were, it didn't dull the fear he felt as he saw the infinity symbol on top of both of them.

Infinity.

Zayn just stood there staring at the rings in fear but the man took it as awe, "Beautiful, innit?"

Zayn snapped out of his trance and nodded his head with fake enthusiasm, "Y-yeah." he snatched the box out of the man's grasp and paid for the rings quickly before almost running out of that store.

He got inside his car and just sat there for a while, staring at the rings. He gently ran his finger on the infinity symbol, the metal felt like it was burning his skin. Then he checked the time, only realizing he only has two hours left before the wedding. He guessed they were already preparing by now, people running all over the place and shouting rushed orders and he was certain it was a proper chaos back in their hotel rooms where they were staying at the moment that they wouldn't notice he was gone. Yet.

He took one last look at the rings before putting the lid back on the box and throwing it on the passenger seat. He heaved a deep breath, letting his forehead fall on the steering wheel, before gripping it tight on one hand and starting the car on another then he drove away.

Meanwhile, Perrie felt like she was about to combust that the guy who was scared of commitments faced his fear and asked her to marry him. He went out of his way and did what he was afraid of all just for her. She was f*cking happy that the guy who has fear or commitments was ready to finally gave something his all. Something that's for the long run. Her.

And he was already on his way.

Although what she didn't know was that he wasn't headed towards her and their wedding, he was going the opposite way.
