Chapter 4
I stand there with my mouth hanging open for a good minute, I don't even realise when Aurelia lowers me to the ground, I snap out of it when I feel my feet touch the soft ground, my feet sink into the willow leaves on the ground about 2 inches before I hit the solid earth beneath us.
I look down at my feet, my legs feel like jelly from not standing for at least 8 hours.
"Whe-" I begin, but cut short when a hand clamps over my mouth.
"Shhh!!" Aurelia hisses in my ear "Talk tellepathically!"
"Ok??" I reply, tellepathically, she takes her hand from my mouth.
"What's going on?" I ask.
"A group of them are nearby," Aurelia replies, "I can smell them,"
"Smell who?" I ask.
"Dragon hunters," she replies
Dragon hunters? But then there would have to be dragons to hunt, and there's no such thing as dragons, are there??
"I'll explain it all later, when we get to the academy," Aurelia says to me, tellepathically, I don't even have time to wonder what the academy was and where it was before she tugs on my arm an starts walking towards the trunk of the ancient, twisted willow in front of us.
We reach the trunk, and Aurelia holds her palm out in front of her, and a pulsing golden orb forms in her hand, she then presses it into a knot in the tree.
We wait a few seconds until some of the ancient fronds of the willow sweep down and picks me and Aurelia up into its clutches, I can't help but let out a small squeal .
I hear excited shouts from down on the ground, "I heard her, I heard her!" Comes an excited boys voice from below, I look down and meet the baby blue eyes of young boy, that looks to be the same age of me, I let out gasp, I scan the rest of his face, caramel hair, freckles and a strong jaw, I see a spark of recognition in his eyes too, before both of our attentions is directed towards the voice that appears beside the boy.
"Good, good, birthday boy," the tall, bald man beside the boy says. If anything, that mans statement confirms my suspicions, this boy is my twin brother.
I see a spark of recognition in the mans eyes, but disapears when it is replaced by a look of glee.
"Ha ha! Good work Cade, my boy!" The middle adged man says before he raises his evil looking black bow and lets loose an arrow, aimed straight at my heart.
