Crucifixion
Crucifixion
We are so enraptured in each other
In the stone stairwell of the old baptist church
My hands are in your hair,
Yours can't seem to stop moving
We giggle,
Glee from the thrill and joy
Simply from each other
The feeling of your beautiful, soft lips
Yours, on my own,
Brings me more joy
Than anything
I've ever experience before
And I know,
You are the same
You treat me like I am a goddess,
My body, as my temple,
And you my most devoted follower,
But if I am a goddess,
Then you are my world,
Because I am nothing without you
We are the only thing that exists,
In our world,
It is only me and you.
We exist only for each other,
For my hands in your hair,
For your hands constantly moving,
I believe you are the only person
In the entire universe,
Who knows me,
Who knows the paths of my body
And I, the only one
Who knows every strand of your hair
But we don't hear
We don't hear the footsteps
The footsteps.
The footsteps getting closer to us,
Getting closer,
And closer to us
Suddenly our joy is over
It has been replaced
By terror,
Their horror.
We are torn apart
I bruise and snap
And then my world goes black.
When I wake
I wish I hadn't.
More pain
Than anything,
I had ever,
Experienced before.
I don't know
How I got here.
I am hanging,
From my hands
From my feet
From my arms
Nails,
In my hands,
In my feet
In my arms
I am dripping,
I cannot tell
What is blood
Or
What is the water
They used
To wake me
I look across the room,
I see you.
You are hanging,
Hanging there,
The same as me.
We hang here,
On our crosses,
Because to them,
Our sins were not paid for,
So we have to
Pay for them ourselves
You look up at me,
And despite everything,
The blood running down your legs,
The cuts in your thighs from where they whip you,
The hole in your side from the stake,
The blood that sputters with each breath,
You smile
At me.
You whisper to me,
"You are beautiful"
And I,
I smile too
Because you are beautiful,
And you are mine
