CHAPTER TWO || CHAOS RISING

A few days had passed since the first incident And Aurora was trying to get things back to normal, Trying to let her body heal from the wounds the Alpha's had inflicted on her. but that was never as easy as it should've been. at least for her. And she needed to know why. Trying to figure out what was going on seemed Almost impossible,  The only conclusion she could come to was a pack of alpha but that just couldn't be plausible... she would've heard of an Alpha pack.

She needed a distraction, Her mind didn't ever seem to rest, Only filling with one vile thought after another. and a party, Well a party was the perfect Distraction. Heather's birthday party. Almost all of Beacon Hills had been invited. even those who didn't know Heather all that well, and that category Rory fell under.

Aurora was in the living room, with a cup of, quite frankly she didn't know what in her hand. She sighed having forgotten how different parties were when she was sober, the whole vibe seemed off. She felt too aware of everyone's intentions. heather's front door opened pulling Rory from her thoughts, and the two boys she recognised made their way in.

The birthday girl immediately rushing toward the two boys, her arms almost instantly found their way around Stiles' neck pulling him in for a kiss. which he barely had a second to process. shock etched over his features as Heather pulled away, the pure look on his face enough to tell the two weren't a couple.

Aurora watched from a distance as Scott and Stiles split up, the freckled boy wearing a flannel shirt disappearing with Heather leaving Scott alone. Aurora watched Scott approach a girl, attempting to make conversation Scott smiled as he began speaking to her. Yet the conversation only lasted 2 minutes as the girl walked away from him, leaving him high and dry with an unimpressed look etched over his face.

Aurora chuckled watching the clueless teen awkwardly scratch his neck unsure of what to do with himself after the rejection, Aurora chuckled to herself as she approached him, drink in hand as she took a sip.

"You okay Scott?" She asked, a mischievous smile tugging rather lips as she looked up at the brunette who still hadn't recovered from the previous failed conversation he'd attempted. His eyes flickered from the group dancing in the middle of the room to Aurora as he nodded.

"Urm yeah, totally I'm good" he stumbled over his own words, unsure of whether he was trying to convince Rory or himself, yet either way his tone wasn't entirely convincing. Aurora chuckled at his awkward stance. Her mind filling with questions she'd contemplated asking the Brunette, yet none seemed all that appropriate.

"You and Your friend? What's his name? Simon?" She began, nonchalantly trying to find out more information, Yet Scott shook his head in confusion at the drastic topic change, her attempt at staying casual not working as well as she'd wanted.

"It's stiles" He corrected, His face contorting in confusion, Aurora nodded his words flying right over her head as she contemplated how to phrase her next sentence, yet before she got the chance to speak she was cut off by the ringing of Scott's phone.

"Um I've got to take this," Scott huffed looking down at his phone before his eyes awkwardly darted between his phone and Rory as he walked off. Both teens only fueling their suspicion of one another. Aurora huffed running a hand through her hair, as she walked toward the back doors of the house in need of a cigarette.

Aurora made her way outside almost instantly sparking a cigarette, deeply inhaling the smoke She wished she was better at figuring things out, wished she was better at the whole supernatural thing. The negative thoughts spiralled around her mind taking out every positive outlook she had like a tornado destroying everything in its path.

Finishing the rest of her drink she hoped the alcohol would take some effect due to her dwindling powers, The negative thoughts in her mind never faded as she re-entered the party, the loud music causing a buzz in her mind as she wondered up the stairs in search of a bathroom.

Walking into what she assumed was the bathroom she instantly slammed the door shut upon walking in on an interaction she wished she could erase from her mind. grimacing at what she'd just witnessed she shouted, "Use protection, disgusting"

She looked around upstairs for a minute searching for another bathroom not fond of the idea of waiting for the original bathroom to be free after what she'd witnessed happening in there. Finding another bathroom Rory sighed relief washing over her knowing she wouldn't have to hold it or wait for the other bathroom to be free.

After using the toilet Rory stood at the sink her eyes examining herself in the mirror, Her mind raced as she flashed her eyes, Her true eyes. The burning golden yellow shone brightly with specks of emerald green. she was different. but why?

The door barged open sending Rory into a panic as she squeezed her eyes shut making them go back to their original shade of brown, before her head shot toward the person who'd barged in. Stiles Fucking Stilinski.

He hadn't even noticed she was there, he just rummaged through the drawers eagerly searching for something. Aurora's face contorted with disgust as she watched him pull a condom from the drawer, His eyes widening as he read the size. His backed eyes flickering down to his pelvis almost questioning himself.

"You getting it on tonight then Simon" she laughed watching his panicked state, Her voice instantly startling him causing him to lose balance. A shriek of fear escaped his lips as his wide eyes met Aurora's. Shaking his head, his cheeks flushing a bright red as his eyes darted between the condom in his hand and Aurora.

"Oh my god! It's not! I mean it is- no! Shut up!" He stuttered, all his words merging as he tried to explain his actions, His face only growing brighter with every word that escaped his lips before he gave up, Aurora's laughter causing embarrassment to flood through the boy's veins as he ran a hand over his face in an attempt of hiding his flushed face.

"I mean as long as you're using protection right" She laughed at Stiles' antics before he shook his head in defeat quickly leaving the bathroom without another word in hopes of forgetting the awkward interaction, also aware his words wouldn't come out right, his social anxiety having grown from the interaction as he rushed to escape it.

Aurora returned to the party in hopes of making the most out of the opportunity of a distraction, and let her brain be freed from the terrorising thoughts that seemed to never leave when her phone started ringing. Pulling her phone from her pocket she felt an almost instant sense of relief when she read the caller ID: Isaac lazy

Reading the name she'd set for him on her phone filled her chest with relief. Answering she held the phone to her ear ready to scream at the boy for going awol: "Where the hell have you been?! Are you okay? You can't scare me like that, you dick."

"I'm okay, well at least now I am... Look, Aurora I need you to lay low for a while, Something bad gonna happen soon I just know it" Issac explained, his voice firmer than she was used to causing her stomach to fill with dread. Rory began walking toward the door her brows knitting together in confusion as she listened.

"No. Isaac, I am not gonna lie low. I need to know what's happening. I know there is an alpha pack." She huffed unsure if that was even what he was talking about, yet she decided to rip the bandaid off anyway. She needed to know what was going on. She'd come back for answers yet she only seemed to have more questions.

"You what?! how do you-"He paused his voice unsteady as he tried to figure out what to say next: "Rory I'm gonna send you an address. meet me there in half an hour. Just be careful"

"Yeah... yeah okay" She nodded before ending the phone, More questions now on her mind, That's all she seemed to have. She needed answers. and soon. she felt like she'd lose her mind otherwise.

**

When Aurora got to the address Issac sent her, She immediately made her way there. She needed answers, she needed to know Isaac was okay, was safe. She arrived at a huge run-down-looking building, her brows knitting together unsure if he'd sent the wrong address. Following the instructions from Isaac's text, she entered the building, making her way up to the loft. Dread pooled in her stomach as she got closer to the door. Opening the door she instantly called out his name: "Isaac!"

"In here" His voice echoed through the dark apartment. Relief washed through her body as she followed the sound of his voice. Walking further into the loft she caught sight of Isaac passing in front of a set of large windows, the darkened weather only adding to the gloom of the apartment.

Rushing toward her only friend she pulled him into a hug. His arms automatically fell to her waist as he pulled her body flush against his. Her arms tightened around his neck as her anxiety diminished. He was okay.

"You scared the shit out of me" She whispered, the comfort of being him his arms reminding her how important he really was. She needed him. Isaac rubbed Rory's back as his free hand tightened on her hip; "I'm okay Rory. I'm okay"

Pressing a gentle kiss to her cheek he broke the hug, His eyes locking with Rory's. His hands remaining on her hips as the worry in his eyes brought back the sense of dread in Aurora's stomach. Glancing around the room Aurora caught a glimpse of an older man, her heart skipping a beat as he sat in front of the windows, his dark shadow behind him eerie almost.

"Who's that?" She questioned taking a step back from Isaac, his hand falling from her hip, As the man sat at the window stood up, emerging from the shadows he seemed familiar. too familiar. Her eyes darted between the man and Isaac waiting for an answer.

"Derek Hale," Isaac answered. Rory's brows knitted together as she took another step back. The realisation that flooded her veins made her eyes widen. Hale. Hale. the fire. Memories of her uncle flashed in her mind, Bile rising in her throat as she shook her head.

"as in Talia hale?" She asked needing confirmation, Her eyes aimed toward the unfamiliar man who wore a familiar name. A name she thought died with her uncle. Derek's eyes darkened at the mention of his mother. Taking a step toward Auror, Isaac instantly took the girl's hand.

"How do you know my mother?" He asked a mix of anger and confusion lacing his voice as he stared at the girl in front of him, questions filling his mind as he waited for her to respond.

"I don't my uncle did," she answered, a look of confusion growing on derek's face as he examined the girl trying to recognise her, yet he couldn't. he had no idea who she was.

" what's your last name? Have we met before?" Derek asked, his voice shaking with anticipation. He needed to know more. His eyebrows knitting together as he waited for a straight answer.

"Hadfield" she replied, eyebrows raised, the memories rushing through her mind almost too much to bare as she stared at the Hale before her.

"Thomas Hadfield?" He questioned, The name bringing back memories of his childhood. Memories of his mom and her friends.

"Yeah, he died in the same fire as your mom," she nodded biting her lip as she tried to remained composed. She hadn't spoke about it. She hadn't spoken about her family in too long.

Derek nodded, The same emotions running through both of their veins as silence loomed over the three stood in the loft. Isaac watching Rory's reactions intently as he held her hand gently caressing the back of her hand with his thumb in an attempt to reassure her.

Yet awkwardness remained, The conversation left Isaac unsure of how to return to the main topic of why he Asked Aurora to meet him there in the first place.

"So Um- how do you know about the alpha pack?" Issac Asked, Rory's attention shifting from the memories replaying in her mind to Isaac.

"oh- yeah right. um- They were at school... After the bird attack that you weren't there for. The first day i saw them fighting someone in the boys locker room" Aurora explained leaving out almost every important detail, Her arm subconsciously wrapping around her waist almost shielding the wounds that they'd inflicted on her. She had to leave that out.  They didn't have to know everything. not about her. not about brayden.

"so let me get this straight, You're attacked by them. Saved by some mysterious woman. Then you seen them fighting someone in the school locker rooms?" Derek Questioned trying to confirm the information he'd just learned while scavenging around his mind for a plan.

"you were attacked?!" Aurora's head shot toward Isaac in disbelief he hadn't said anything to her about what had happened. Her mind raced, She was right to be worried about him.

"i'm okay rory." Isaac shook his head not wanting to cause Rory any more anxiety than he knew she already suffered with. He didn't want to worry her. He didn't want to be a burden...

***

The three young adults spent the next half an hour debating a plan, Yet it didn't seem all that successful until Derek came up with something... something dangerous.

"I don't like this idea," Issac said pacing around the room his anxiety peaking at just the thought of going through with the plan.

"Sounds kinda dangerous" he added voicing his worries to the rest of the group as he paced the room before he continued; "Actually I definitely don't like this idea and I definitely don't like him"

"Neither do I, and I've never met him" Aurora voiced, Purely just the things she'd heard about the infamous Peter hale made her dislike him. And the thought of putting Isaac's life in the hands of Peter made her stomach churn.

"You'll be fine," Derek said, his lousy attempt at reassuring Isaac did everything but. Isaacs eyes flickered between the two unsure if it was even worth it.

"He better be," Aurora Huffed sitting on the table, she knew if anything was to happen to Isaac she'd lose it. He was the only person she really had. And she intended to keep him safe.

"Derek, got a balcony or somewhere i can smoke?" Aurora asked pulling a pack of filters from her pocket, Yet Derek only sent her a violent death stare. And if looks could kill well, she'd be a goner.

"Does it have to be him?" Isaac Questioned running a hand through his hair as he continued anxiously pacing the room.

"He knows how to do it I don't. It would be more dangerous if I tried to do it" Derek explained, The ritual was too complicated for him too try. too dangerous for either other werewolf to even attempt.

"Y'know Scott doesn't trust him right," Issac Countered causing Aurora to raise a brow confusion lacing her mind as she wondered why everything seemed to revolve around Scott McCall.

"What's the big deal about Scott? I don't get why he's so important" Aurora stated as she pulled a cigarette from the pack in her hand, Her eyes flickered up to derek noticing the second death stare he'd sent her in less than a minute.

"I'm not gonna smoke it jeez" She scoffed tucking the cigarette behind her ear ready for when she could leave the eerie loft.

"Personally I trust Scott," Issac said completely ignoring Aurora's statement about scott knowing he'd be lectured by her later on for not keeping her in the loop.

"Do you trust me?" Derek Scoffed standing up and walking toward the still pacing Isaac, yet as the dark haired man got closer Isaac stopped, locking eyes with Derek he nodded.

"I still don't like him" Issac added, finally giving into the plan that was almost causing his hands to shake with anxiety.

"Nobody likes him" Derek deadpanned bluntly causing aurora to chuckle before heavy footsteps echoed through the loft and none other than peter hale emerged from the darkness.

"That's him? He doesn't look that bad" Aurora scoffed examining the man who looked like any other 40 year old man.

"Boys and girl fyi coming back from the dead had left my abilitiessomewhat impaired but the hearing still works so I hope your comfortable sayingwhatever it is your feeling straight to my face" Peter rambled, sarcasm lacing his voice as he glanced between Isaac, Rory and Derek.

"We don't like you" Derek and Aurora scoffed in unison, their voices echoing through the loft as Peter smirked at the pair.

"Now shut up and help us" Derek rolled his eyes before peter could say another word. derek's voice cold yet a smile seemed to tug at Rory's lips at his bluntness, oh they were gonna get along.

"Fair enough," Peter shrugged and with a quick flick of his wrist his nails transformed into the razor sharp claws aurora had been slashed with days prior. Peter was ready to extract Isaac's memories..
