Day Three
The girl's senses began to strengthen and become more accustom to her hospital room.
Although she has been there for three months or so, she never felt close to comfortable until now.
She ate two and a half meals total the day before; two and a half more meals than she has had since she arrived to the hospital border lining nine months ago.
Two thirds of a year she has been in this hospital.
Two thirds of a year to finally gain some comfort in this place.
Two thirds of a year to show some form of sanity.

"Good morning, Beatrice!" Dr. Scott walks into the room, opening the blinds and smiling.
"It's Tris. And good morning." The girl says, a little louder as her voice grows stronger.
Dr. Scott laughs lightly, enjoying the conversation from the girl right off the bat this morning.
"I've been meaning to ask you, Tris," empathizes her alias in the context, "How is your eyesight doing?"
"Better than it was, I mean, I can see."
"What was your vision like before the eye drops were administered to you?" The doctor sits at the foot of the girl's bed, opposite of the leg that was operated on.
"I was blind, eventually." She says, speaking minimally.
"What do you mean eventually?"
The girl looks at her for a second, scrambling around in her mind as to remember when her vision first got bad.
\/
Her face was held down by several sets of hands, more than she could count by simply touch.
She screams, trying to thrash her arms and legs, but everyone's hands hold her down.
Hands grab at her face, hair, waist, injured leg, crotch, abdomen, chest; and male voices are laughing.
She screams for mercy, for it's her only accessible way of defense.
No one will save her.
She's forty feet underground in the basement of her kidnapper's haven.
The building was built mostly underground for this specific reason.
As for the girl in the cell, it does not work in her favor.
The mildly heavy-set, blonde aged male that leads all the people approaches her and she screams out a cry, hoping that maybe, just maybe he will let her off easy.
She tries to shake her head back and forth, but all the hands stop her from moving.
"Oh Beatrice, you never seem to learn." He says in sarcastic, pitiful way.
"Please, stop!" The girl screams, and it's her last defense before the aged man sinks a needle deep into her neck.
The man then takes two injections without the needles that are filled with a drug to destroy the girl's senses. While she is thinking that the worst is over and the pain takes over from the antibiotic needle to keep her alive, he takes the two needle-less injection containers and shoves them up both of her nostrils.
The sound that erupts from the girl's mouth causes everyone in the room to flinch. The aged man stays in his place as the girl still tries to thrash as he pushes down on the needle-less injections, shoving the grey powder substance up into the girl's nasal passages.
In an instant, all the hands leave her body and the absence of footsteps tells her she is left alone in the cell.

"Tris. Tris, are you alright?" The doctor's voice brings her back into reality.
The two of them make eye contact, and the doctor fears that the girl will spiral out of a control and all this comfort that was gained will tumble downwards in a split second.
"I want you to know it's totally normal to have flashbacks, Tris. You've been through a lot, and if you need to talk about it, I'm here, and there's plenty of other people in the hospital system that can help you out as well." She squats down beside the girl's face on the bed and strokes stray hairs out of the girl's face, wiping few tears with her thumb.
"Why isn't Tobias allowed to see me?" The girl's soft tone returns.
"I really don't know." She continues to stroke the blonde locks on top of the girl's head.

"WHAT DO YOU HAVE AGAINST MY GIRLFRIEND?" Four shouts, the tone of his voice enough to rattle one's chest.
"SHE IS DANGEROUS!" Candor leader, West attacks back.
There is a leader meeting at Erudite headquarters mainly to discuss if Candor leader, West is making harsh decisions that are not logical as to who to and not to trial.
"She is traumatized! What the hell do you expect?!"
"I expect her to be back on her feet like everyone else that was saved."
"They treated her worse! Yeah, everyone was treated badly, but they did things to her to cause her to become this way!"
"What kind of things?"
"She's scared, and that's not the point!"
"Which is why she's dangerous! We don't know what they did to her, and all it takes is a second for her to blow up and destroy us all!"
"You are such a coward."
"Call me whatever you want, but she is still getting tried in four days."
"Gentlemen!" Erudite leader, Mark raises his voice to shush the two leaders.
"It has been brought to all of our attention that Beatrice Prior was in the Mentally Impaired Unit of the Erudite Hospital from January to the middle of February of this year." Mark continues the meeting and draws it back to the topic at hand. "We all are also aware that there is policies that do not allow people who have been labeled as "Mentally Impaired" to be under the influence of any kind of serum, including Truth Serum, within five months. As for Beatrice Prior, her label of being "Mentally Impaired" was lifted after her discharge from the Mentally Impaired Unit of the Erudite Hospital. In four days from now, her five months without the label will be coming to an end, and four days from now there is a trial under the influence of truth serum scheduled at Candor HQ, just as all the other refugees have been tried."
Silence fills the room as the information settles. Everything seems logical, fair, and justice.
"These trials have not been put in place to prove innocence or guilt, but to relay information. Yes, it has come across as disturbing and cruel to force these people to relay all the trauma they went through while in captivity, but for the safety of our city, we have to know who to and not to fear."
Silence fills the room again, and no one has any words, until an Amity leader questions the leaders.
"Why couldn't these trials of been done without the influence of truth serum?"
"It's how trials have always been done." West answers.
"But what if we do trials without truth serum?" An Amity leader asks.
"We did all of the other trials with truth serum, so in order to be fair, Beatrice Prior's trial should be done under truth serum." West answers, calmly.
"What difference does it make?" An Erudite leader pipes up, adjusting his glasses. "She's a Divergent, and genetically pure. Will the truth serum even effect her?"
No one answers.
Despite all these years of knowing about Divergents and genetically pure people, the city of Chicago doesn't truly know what that means.
Beatrice Prior is, and always has been the only known genetically pure human to live in Chicago.
The only studying ever done on genetic pureness was conducted by the Bureau of Genetic Welfare, but they cut off any connection to Chicago just months after the "deaths" of Uriah Pedrad and Beatrice Prior; the Bureau's only two connections to Chicago, for both were said to have been under medical care until entitled dead.
Now, Chicago may never know what it means to be genetically pure.
They may scare her from the city before they even get the chance to know what might save them in the end.
