She went and sat beside him with a smile as he was sitting there looking at nothing particular. Ever since she saw the foetus in the ultra sound scanner, she was thrilled but that was not his condition. His smile or his words never reached his eyes and she had noticed it.

“Shivaay” She told holding his arm and he turned to her with a faint smile.

“I know you're not ready for a baby or responsibility now. Even I'm not” She told and he sighed.

“I'm ready or not is not important here. All that matters is your happiness” He told side hugging her while she kept her head on his shoulder.

“I know you're worried about my studies. In this condition I can't join the university. I know I got placement but what to do. God had some other plan. But you don't worry. I won't sit here idly thinking I'm pregnant. I had a second plan in case I didn't clear the entrance. I mean I have the licence to work now——”

“Won't it be stressful for you?” He asked worried and she smiled.

“I'll be fine”

“Tell me. Didn't you want a baby?” She asked looking at him.

“Honestly I didn't want a baby so soon but then I don't feel anything major now——” He chuckled “I was thinking if the baby would be girl or boy looking at that sonogram. Didn't it look like a girl?” He asked and she burst out laughing.

“That small round figure looked like a girl for you?” She asked chuckling and he smiled sheepishly.

“Wait! You changed topic” She told frowning and he looked away.

“Shivaay” She told holding his face.

“What's bothering you?”

“It's nothing Anika. I'm fine”

“Do you think I'll believe it?”

“You should. You have no other option”

She took his hand and kept it on top of her head.

“Say it now” She told and his hand shivered slightly.

“Why are you making it difficult for me?” He asked and she shrugged.

“It was all so sudden” He told and she nodded.

“I didn't even think about being a father. A baby is a responsibility and I don't know if I'm yet ready for it. I'm scared to even hold a baby. Do you know that? I almost dropped Prinku on the floor. She was just three months and since then I haven't held a baby fearing I'll drop it” He told and she nodded again.

“Mom almost killed me. Choti ma saved me from her that day. It was only because of the pillow on the floor that nothing happened to her otherwise today...” He trailed off.

“What if I drop our baby like that?” He asked and she smiled.

“That is why you're tensed?”

“The main tension is facing your mom and dad. They'll kill me” He told and she burst out laughing.

“For getting me pregnant? You're saying as if you're my boyfriend who got me pregnant before marriage” She told chuckling.

“It's a joke for you?” He asked and she kept finger on her lips stifling her laugh.

“I just spoilt their only daughter's life so they'll surely kill me. I'm cent percent sure” He told and she frowned.

“Did you rape me?” She asked and he looked at her horrified.

“WHAT?”

“Did you force me?”

“NO”

“What did you do after that night?”

“Uh——Had coffee?” He asked confused and she glared at him.

“Oh ok. I went to pharmacy to buy the pills because we didn't use protection”

“Exactly, what did I do?”

“You——” He stopped as he looked at her.

“Because I was talking to you, you got mixed up between vitamin tablets and pills”

“And who's mistake is that?”

“Mine” She hit her forehead and glared at him.

“IT WAS MINE! IT WAS MY MISTAKE” She told angrily and he nodded quickly.

“You'll go and say this story to them?” He asked and she widened her eyes.

She looked down embarrassed and he nodded.

“You can't say this story to my mom and dad who loves you more than me too” He told and she chuckled.

“Leave them. We'll tell them somehow. Your only tension is dropping the baby on the floor?” She asked and he sighed.

“What if history repeats in our case too?”

“Let it repeat then” She told casually.

“See! This is what! You're already casual about your studies” He told frustrated and she looked at him with a neutral expression.

“Why are you getting hyper Shivaay?”

“Because I want to see you as a cardiologist not as the mother of my kid. I want to proudly say that my wife is a successful cardiologist not a successful mom” He told frustrated and she looked at him expressionlessly.

“Who dreamt of being that cardiologist? Me. Who stayed up till late night and studied for exams? Me. If I know how to reach here, then I know how to reach that goal too. I'm not my mom and she's not me. Just because she left her studies for dad and me doesn't mean I'll leave that for you or the kid we're going to have. Even if at sixty, I'll not stop till I reach where I want myself to reach. You got that?” She asked and was genuinely surprised to see the megavolt smile that was plastered on his face.

“What?” She asked and he shook his head smiling.

“So this was bothering you?” She asked and he nodded with a sheepish smile.

“Is this light now?” She asked touching his chest and he nodded with a smile.

“Pucca?”

“Pucca” He told kissing her nose making her chuckle.

He sat beside her with a smile seeing her sleeping innocently holding the duvet in her fist. Caressing her hair, he bent down and kissed her forehead making her open her eyes.

“You came early today?” She asked sleepily and he smiled.

“Tired?” He asked and she nodded.

“Sleep then” He told as he gave a kiss on her temple before going to change his clothes.

When he returned back, she was not on the bed. He walked to the kitchen to see her standing in front of the coffee machine while biting a raw tamarind.

“How are you eating that?” He asked and she turned to him.

“What?” She asked and he took the tamarind from her.

“With mouth” She told shrugging as she poured the coffee in a cup.

“Isn't it sour?”

“No Shivaay. Tamarind is very sweet” She told smiling sarcastically as she gave him the coffee.

“Full of sarcasm today” He told as she took the tamarind from him and continued eating it.

“If you ask stupid questions, what else should I answer?” She asked chuckling.

“Where's your coffee?”

“For next eight months, no coffee for me” She told sadly and he stopped halfway as he was about to take a sip.

“Then” He poured the coffee in the sink “No coffee for me too”

“Shivaay you'll get headache if you stop caffeine suddenly” She told.

“Anything for our darling” He told and she smiled.

“I love you too” She told keeping his palm on her stomach.

“Hmm?”

“Just like you love him, he loves you too” She told with a smile.

“He? What if it's a girl?” He asked and she chuckled. Typical wish of fathers wanting girl child!

“I saw my report and I have a doubt but I won't tell you what it is. When we go for next check up, I'll clear it and then tell you” She told making him confused.

“It's nothing to be worried anyway” She told giving a kiss on his cheek before walking out of the kitchen smiling.

He stood there confused but shrugged it. There are advantages and disadvantages of having a doctor biwi!
