Colours Pt2 (色)

So I figured I put more colors down just for people who are curious.

Grey
Hai iro
はいいろ(灰色)

Dark Grey
Nezumi-iro
ねずみいろ(鼠色)

*Basically means rat colored, because rats are dark grey in color.

Gold
Kin-iro
きんいろ(金色)

Silver
Gin-iro
ぎんいろ(銀色)

Bronze
Seidou-iro
せいどう(青銅色)

Scarlet
Shu-iro
しゅいろ(朱色)

Beige
Be-ju
ベージュ

Lilac
Rairakku
ライラック

Turquoise
Ta-koizu
ターコイズ

Cherry blossom
Sakura-iro
さくらいろ(桜色)

Violet
Sumire iro
すみれ(菫色)

Rainbow
Niji
にじ(虹)

<~~~~~~~>

I know I already mentioned this in the previous one, but there's another way to write pink.

Pink
Momo iro
ももいろ(桃色)

Momo means peach (as in the fruit) and as you know peaches are mostly pink in color (well, they are in Japan)

Funny thing is, the word for peach color is different.

Peach
Hada iro
はだいろ(肌色)

Do ask me why. Japanese is complicated like that. ʅ(◞‿◟)ʃ

Most colors outside the primary ones would mostly be written in Japanese using other items (fruits, things, subjects, etc.) to describe the color like some of the colors above. (Violet, dark grey, etc.)

For example:

Light blue
Mizu iro
水色

Mizu (水) is water. Water is light colored. So it can be used to describe light blue.

Dark Blue
Kon-iro
こんいろ(绀色)

<~~~~~~~>

A/N:

Feel free to ask whatever and I'll try to answer them the best as I can. Just be warn though, I'm also learning Japanese along with you guys, so I'm not 100% reliable. Still, I hope I can help you guys in any way I can.^ - ^
