Constan and Cindi's Valentine experience.
Constan's part
(12 days before Valentines Day)
I ran to my class really quickly.
"So late, I'm so late, I'm so late!" I said as I raced to it as fast as I could go.
I had fallen behind schedule, when I got caught up in a conversation with some of Cindi's friends before classes began.
Cindi's friends consisted of: Brianna the brionne, Kenny the Joltik, (odd ball he is,) and Osinerfred the II. He was a proper, English-speaking doublade. By English-speaking, I mean British accent. He seemed and even sounded intimidating, but he was a really considerate guy sometimes.
But if he wanted to, he could fight really well.
But I got caught up in a conversation with them, and before I knew it, the bell rang, and it was time for class.
Except MY class, was all the way across the hall, turn left, go down that hall, another left, and it was the first door on the right.
So, I had to run.
I got in there just as the teacher was doing roll-call, (yeah, we do that,) and she stopped to acknowledge that I had just entered the room.
"Welcome Mr. ... flareon. Glad you decided to come in at your own 'discretion'. Please take a seat, and I'll overlook this tardiness."
I sheepishly went to my seat and sat to everyone, or most everyone looking at me as I sat.
I mean, the seat was just a mat, so it didn't really matter, but when I sat down, I heard a... a potty-language sound.
I got up quickly, and looked down to see a whoopee-cushion right under me.
Half the kids in the room laughed, and the teacher looked at me. "Excuse you Mr. flareon! Please refrain from doing such a thing!"
That made the kids laugh more, and I moved the cushion aside to sit down; blushing from extreme embarrassment as I did so.
(After school)
I breathed a sigh of relief that school was over. Now I could go home.
People who were in that room when the whoopee-cushion went off, and that didn't know there was one there, looked at me in partial disgust.
I tried to avoid looking at them. 'Stupid pranks!' I thought as I slammed my locker shut.
I walked out of school; looking down the entire time.
(At home)
I went to the middle of the living room, and laid on my back.
"Ugh..." I exclaimed.
Tendo walked into the room. "Ugh, what?"
I sighed. "Nothing. Just, bad school day."
Tendo nodded, and sat down next to me. "Ah yes. I know those really well sadly. What happened to make it bad?"
I looked at him. "Whoopee-cushion. Teacher and a few others thought I... ya know."
Tendo snickered. "Really?"
I sat up. "It's not funny! Half of the pokemon in the class now think I can't control myself! It's embarrassing... now I don't want to go back to school for the next few days."
Tendo shook his head. "Come on. Just deal with it. If they are not smart enough to know it was a prank, then let them think whatever. You're my little bro, and... as much as I hate saying this, you are definitely tougher than I was when I was your age."
My eyes widened. "What did you just say?"
Tendo rolled his eyes. "Oh whatever. Not gonna say it again. Don't get too excited, that kind of thing happens once a year."
I smirked. "Fine."
Tendo patted my head. "But, besides that Valentines is coming up! Get those whoopee-cushion thoughts out of your head, and think of what you're gonna do for Cindi!"
I nodded. "Ok. I guess I can start brain-storming."
Tendo stood up. "Good. Now I'm gonna go for a walk. I am thinking of where to prepare something for Aurora..."
(7 days before Valentines Day)
I set down the phone, and grinned; possibly unconrtoably.
Unfortunately for me, Yeper and Tendo both entered the room simultaneously.
"What's with that freaky grin?" Yeper questioned.
I glared at her. "Not freaky. Be quiet."
Tendo walked up to me, and saw the phone. "Who you on the phone with?"
I smiled again. "Cindi."
Yeper rolled her eyes. "Ugh. Relationship stuff. I'm gone..." She turned around and walked to her room.
Tendo watched her leave, and then looked at me. "So, what was it about?"
I smirked proudly. "Cindi wants to take our relationship a little farther she said."
Tendo's eyes went a little wide. "What? She said that?"
I nodded. "Oh yeah! I'm totally ready now! A little farther probably means, like, holding paws more often, and maybe making nicknames for each other!"
Tendo swallowed. "Knowing Cindi... maybe, it's something more than that..."
I faced him, and expressed confusion. "What do you mean?"
Tendo sat down. "I don't know. But maybe..." He brought his paws together, and pressed them together, and kept them there for a while before separating them.
I titled my head. "Patty-cake?"
Tendo sighed. "No stupid! What if she wants to... go farther by, having a 'session'?"
I lost all emotion suddenly. "Session... session? That's not what I think... is it?"
Tendo nodded. "It could be... very easily could be. You've been together for many months now, and you've already kissed before. Twice I think. She could want to kiss more... intimately than that."
I bumped my elbow on the table. "No, no, no. That... that's not right. She's not so... forward."
Tendo shrugged. "Don't know. Could be, could not be. But... Cindi is pretty involved with you. Quite possibly could be..."
I folded my ears and put my paws over them. "La la la! I can't hear you!"
Tendo backed away, and rounded the corner.
I slowly uncovered my ears. "Couldn't be like that..." The thought horrified me, shocked me, and made me partially intrigued all at once.
(Day before Valentines Day)
Cindi and I met in the middle of a park at sundown.
She wanted to talk there about our relationship, and... stuff.
We both sat on a dry spot we made by pushing the snow away from us. It was cold, yes, but we had coats on, and we sat close to each other, so we were ok.
Practically no one was there, so it was romantic; just us.
Cindi spoke up first. "Constan... I can't fully express my feelings toward you through words. There's not enough words around for that."
I smiled slightly. "The same goes for you, except I have tried to think of all the words I could to describe how strongly I feel toward you. But, I failed."
She chuckled. "You're a dork."
I smirked. "Better a dork than not having you."
She sat up, and faced me. "So... Constan, I was wondering something..."
I nodded and listened. "Yeah?"
She blushed a little tiny bit, and rubbed her left arm with her right paw. "We've been together for a while now... and, we just never did this. So, I was thinking that maybe... we could..."
I suddenly remembered what Tendo told me. The thought of her and I...
I felt an enormous blush spread across my cheeks.
She looked at me, and saw my blush. "Constan are you ok? You're face is redder than usual."
I nodded quickly. "Yeah! Yes, yep, mhm."
She shrugged it off. "Ok, but now I've really got to ask you for real, and stop holding it off. I heard that this is what couples did for each other when they were really close to each other, and wanted to get to know each other better."
I closed my eyes. "No! Stop!"
She stopped talking, and looked at me in surprise when I opened my eyes.
She appeared confused. "Constan..?"
I shook my head. "I'm sorry! I can't do it! Tendo told me what you were going to as me!"
She was taken aback. "He did? How did he figure it out? That ruins the surprise..."
I fell onto my back paws. "But I-I can't! I'm sorry, I can't make-out with you Cindi!"
She blinked. "What did you say? Make-out?"
I nodded. "That's what you were gonna ask right?"
She smiled, and that turned into giggling, and then into full-blown laughter.
I watched her in confusion. Why was she laughing at a time like this?
She eventually slowed her laughing until she stopped. "You think... that I... was going to ask you to make-out?"
I nodded slowly. "Tendo said-"
She waved her paw. "Oh, Tendo." She interrupted. "That's why. Tendo's so paranoid."
I sat up again, as I felt safer to be closer to her now. "So, you're not?"
She shook her head. "No, of course not! I'm not that forward!"
I mentally crushed Tendo underneath my paw when she said that. I was right!
She shook her head. "No. Making-out is NOT something I would ask about yet. I feel like neither of us are ready for something as... deep as that. I don't mind kissing you, but that will have to wait another few months ok?"
I nodded. "Ok, I understand. Then what was it you were going to ask me?"
Her shoulders looked like a large burden was placed on them suddenly. "I was going to ask if you wanted to... m-meet my parents?"
I blinked. That was not at all what I expected her to ask! "Meet your parents? Sure! That doesn't sound so bad, so why did you seem so nervous to ask it?"
She looked down. "My parents... are not supportive of our relationship. They don't like you it sounds like, and they often can be really... mean to new pokemon."
I understood then. She had said before that her parents fought, and her family was a mess.
"Well, I would love to meet them." I said.
She looked at me. "You would? Really?" Her eyes lit up. "Even after everything I've said about them?"
I nodded. "Definitely. Meeting the parents is an important step in a relationship. I think that it matters considerably."
She smiled open-mouthed. "Oh, Constan you're so sweet!"
I was facing the direction of the sun, so it may have been just the sun messing with my eyes, but Cindi's yellow fur seemed to sparkle in the evening light; making her look angelic.
I chuckled. "You look like an angel right now."
That compliment caught her by surprise. "I do?" She looked at herself, and then at me. "You are so good at changing the conversation." She shifted closer to me, and I instantly felt warmer. "And at cheering someone up."
I smiled. "Well, an angel deserves only the best treatment."
She smirked. "You know what else I do like an angel?"
"What?" I asked.
She then moved forward, and kissed me; knocking me down onto the ground with her on top of me.
She withdrew, and smiled.
I smiled back.
I could've stayed that way forever.
Suddenly, I heard a faint sound of clapping.
Both Cindi and I looked over to see... a smeargle clapping at us. "Woo-hoo! Yeah, you go! Kiss 'em good!"
She rolled her eyes, and we went back to enjoying our own little moment.
Cindi's part
(5 days before Valentines Day)
I had both promised Tendo I would take him shopping for Aurora, and arranged a meeting with Constan to talk about... taking our relationship farther, a.k.a. meeting my family.
Sigh.
Tendo and I agreed on shopping tomorrow. I was going to talk with Constan the day before Valentines Day, and then he could meet my parents... mm... maybe early spring, late winter.
Everything was organized right?
Wrong.
My family absolutely HATED this time of year. Celebrating couples and love, when they were always fighting, and were about ready to separate? No thanks.
I used to hate this time of year with them, as it always was a reminder of what I didn't have, AND that my parents could never raise me properly.
It was just... sad.
But then I met Constan, that little dorky flareon, and he helped me see how wrong I was in thinking about Valentines day like that.
He was great.
I loved him for his little, geeky habits, and for all his other quarks. But, most of all I loved him for how much he could care for someone, even if he didn't always show it.
He cared for me deeply; I saw that in his eyes every time.
Even if he failed at impressing me sometimes, and couldn't quite rap his mind around me having issues, he was still the best guy in the world.
But, no more sentimental stuff. I don't like talking about that kind of stuff in front of strangers.
Let's skip ahead to shopping with Tendo.
(4 days before Valentines Day)
Tendo and I were walking through the little shopping area in the middle of town. It wasn't very impressive, but it worked for anyone's needs.
Tendo had told me what he had thought of already.
"I want to make her a nostalgic candlelit dinner." He told me. "I want it to be as romantic, and perfect as possible too."
I nodded. "Ok. Romantic huh? That's not exactly my specialty. Maybe you ought to go on your own for that part."
Tendo stopped walking and looked at me. "But, if you want me to go do it alone, then how will I help you get Constan something?"
Shoot, he was right.
"Ok." I stated. "Then we'll continue on together."
Tendo nodded, and we continued walking farther down the street.
"Hey, Cindi come here! I got something!"
I ran across the small shop to where Tendo was. he seemed to be looking at... pokemon plushies?
Tendo picked one up. It was a jolteon, like her. "This one."
Cindi shrugged, and looked around to make sure no one was watching. "Ok. What do you mean by that?"
Tendo rolled his eyes. "For Constan. He's always wanted one of these. He wanted one of himself before you came along, but when you got into his life, he began wanting one of you. So he can practice asking questions and stuff."
I was a little concerned of what Constan would do to plushie me, but I eventually agreed to Tendo's idea.
We went to checkout, and bought that little sucker for a high price.
Not worth it to me. But, if Constan wanted to, I don't know... practice his pickup lines on doll-me, then I say, 'go ahead'.
Tendo had a little sack on his back with him, and he put the plushie inside it. "I'll give it to you when we're done shopping."
I was going to give Constan a large homemade Valentine card made of all different kinds of paper, and was going to try and write some sort of love poem on it, but the plushie, at least wouldn't have to have love poems written on it, and if I gave that to him with the card, I didn't have to rack my brain to figure out a like... 50 line poem.
Tendo's part of shopping was boring. Candles and chocolates. Aurora deserved the best. Pretty much triple what I said there, and that was Tendo.
We parted ways, and he made sure to give me the doll.
"I'll cya later!" he said with enthusiasm.
I nodded and waved. "Later!"
And I went home.
(Basically, the rest of it was just me dealing with school, and writing down what stuff to say, and all that. Nothing eventful. And by the way, when I gave Constan the plushie, he was so excited, that was going to kiss me in thanks, but he almost ended up kissing the doll instead.
Oh Constan. Such a goofball.
My goofball though.)
