More Random Love Stories

Why do I include random in, like, every thing I post in this book?

Anyways, these are probably kinda corny and not real exciting, but for sappy people like me they are cute :)

Enjoy!

1) She was sitting outside on the front lawn, talking with her friend, who lives close to him. He and a couple of his friends rode by on their bikes, and her friend, who never wanted to keep her mouth shut, finally yelled it out loud, telling the whole street, including him, that she liked him.

She has the locker next to his, and she was horribly embarrassed to see him the next day.

"Hey," he said when he arrived. "I heard what your friend said. Is it true?"

Not bothering to deny it, she looked down and replied, "Yes. But feel free to tell me you don't like me."

"Actually, that's not what I was going to say," he said nervously. Her head whipped up.

"What?"

"I was going to ask if you wanted to go to homecoming with me," he smiled shyly.

2) For a while, she had hoped they might break up. But his relationship seemed to survive the normal test of time in high school. It didn't seem like he'd ever have room for her.

She didn't have a reason to live anymore. He was the only one she loved, the only one she wanted. So grabbed her coat that cold January day and made her way to the icy bridge in town. She was about to jump when she heard a voice.

"Stop! Hey, don't do that! Please!" She stopped. It was his voice.

"What are you doing here?" She wheeled around. He couldn't be jumping... Could he?

"Probably the same thing as you," he said, his voice shaking.

"But... Why?"

"Because the girl I love obviously doesn't love me back," he replied.

"She broke up with you?"

"No," he replied, "We were never together. And if you follow through there, we never will be."

Her eyes widened as she processed what he had just said, and a bubble of happiness that she hadn't felt for years surged through her veins.

"Well don't you follow through, then, either," she said, hardly able to contain her joy.

"What's going to stop me?"

"This," she replied, and she kissed him.

He kissed her back, and it went on for a while like that, full of a joy and warmth that was out of place on that cold, gray January day at a place where they and both planned to end their lives.

When they broke apart, there was one last thing she need to make sure of. "Who's that other girl?" she whispered in his ear.

"The one I'm always with?" he asked. She nodded. "Oh, that's my best friend. Always has been, but she never will be more than that."

3) She'd liked him since the middle of the previous year, and all through the summer despite the fact that she hadn't seen him at all. He was always nice to her, but then again, he was always nice to everyone. She wasn't sure what to think of it, couldn't tell if he ever singled her out.

When they had no classes together the next school year, she quickly gave up, losing hope. The only thing she did was smile and say hi to him everyday when she walked past his locker. She figured that would be all that ever happened, the friendly hello. She wasn't sure if he even noticed or cared.

Soon it was October, almost homecoming week. She's made plans to go with her friends, none of whom had dates.

She had just closed her locker one day and was about to walk to class when he passed her. He didn't even say hello like he usually did, just slipped a little post-it note inside her locker. She was nearly late to class, so she couldn't check what it said just then.

When she got back, she opened her locker and pulled out the note. It said:

Homecoming?

She gasped audibly, her locker neighbors looking at her strangely as she was filled with happiness. She grabbed a pen out of her pencil bag and quickly scrawled on the back of the note:

Yes :)

She gathered her things for her next class and was about to head towards his locker when she saw him coming toward her. Without even acknowledging him, she placed the note, "homecoming"-side up on the top of his books and walked on, glancing over her shoulder as she went. She saw him flip over the note and read it, before stopping dead in the middle of the crowded hallway. He looked over at her in disbelief, but she just smiled at him as she continued onward.

It wasn't until the end of the day that she noticed another little sticky note sitting on the very top shelf of her locker. She pulled it out curiously and saw, clearly in his handwriting, another note:

I've been waiting for this moment ever since the first day you said hello.
