How to Write a Title
This is totally random... But that's what this book is for!
How to Find the Perfect Title
A title is arguably the most important part to getting a reader's attention, as it's the first thing they would see. There isn't one perfect method to find a title, but here are some brainstorming ideas/methods.
Method #1: Acronyms
This method is easy and fun, so it's worth a try to at least get you some ideas. To do this:
1. Without paying attention, randomly type in 2-5 letters
2. Hit enter and repeat as many times as you want
3. Try to come up with a title for each set of letters as if it were an acronym. Feel free to skip one, as you probably won't come up with your best title from XJQYZ :) Also feel free to change them to your needs and add words like and, the, of, etc.
Here's an example I did with a romance I just started about a girl accidentally reuniting with her childhood friend on a business trip to New York:
JEEK: Just Everything I've Ever Known
YMM: You, Me and Memories
AOA: All Over Again
IWAR: I Will Always Return
NC: No coincidence
Method #2: Opposites
This kind of title is probably best for humor/light hearted romances. One real example of this kind of title is Art Geeks & Prom Queens by Alyson Noel. It's pretty self explanatory but here are some examples:
-Flip-Flops & Cowboy Boots
-Good Boys & Bad Girls
-Sunny Days & Starry Nights
You could also do something similar to this without using complete opposites:
-White Sand & Spray on Tans
-Roses & Dandelions
Method #3: Expect the Unexpected
Really corny subtitle, I know. But this one's kind of fun. Just take a classic/overused title and change something to make unique. It would probably be used mostly for humor and light teen fiction. For example:
-The Life And Lies of Nobody Cares
-The Official Encyclopedia of How to Be an Idiot
-Love, War, and Raspberry Cupcakes
