Galactic Issues
"So let me get this straight," a woman with short red locks began. "You mean to tell me, that after we ordered you, three days ago to retrieve Hiromi, you failed?"
"Commander Mars, it wasn't our fault. We had no choice but to retreat," one Galactic Grunt stated nervously.
"Oh? And why is that? We sent you out there with a crack team of our trained Houndour, and you couldn't bring her in?" Mars asked with a raised brow, irritation easily seen on her face.
"With all due respect Mars, this is Hiromi we are talking about here. A team as weak as what we sent out was lucky to have even come as close as they did to capturing her," a pink-haired young woman stated firmly.
"I know that Jupiter. But she was injured and barely got away. And according to these morons," she gestured, "they got a few good shots at her and had her on the ropes before those stupid Ghost Pokémon showed up," Mars shot back.
"Well, I don't blame them for running. I would not like to be around a Mismagius qhen they laugh. But that is still no excuse for failure. We'll overlook the issue this time," Jupiter informed.
"But next time," Mars paused, her fist shooting out like a blur to send the punching bag she was hitting, swinging wildly, "we won't."
The Grunts swallowed hard and nodded. They all knew what Mars and Jupiter were capable of.
"Now, I want you to search every nook and cranny of Sinnoh until you find Hiromi. She cannot be allowed to roam free. We have too much at stake for her to be on the loose," Mars stated flatly.
"But commander Mars, she's only one girl. And a blind one at that. What trouble could she cause by herself?" A Grunt asked, much to the horror of others.
Mars raised a brow and walked up to the Grunt. "New guy, right?"
The Grunt nodded.
"You look smart, so let me ask you something. How many pounds of force can a sledgehammer deliver in human hands?"
The Grunt thought it over before answering. "Roughly anywhere between one thousand and fifteen hundred pounds of force."
"Good, now do you know that a human kick can apply the same amount if done correctly?"
The Grunt arched a brow.
"Remember how we had to get the main door replaced when Hiromi escaped?"
The Grunt nodded.
"Well, that door was made from some highly reinforced steel, several layers infact. But guess what? She kicked the door off its hinges! She's not just one girl, she's a very dangerous one. As for her blindness, that doesn't even hinder her that much. If she could turn this place upside down on her own, imagine what she could do with an accomplice. So don't go telling me that she's just "one girl," Mars lectured.
The Grunt sweat-dropped at this. He knew there were dangerous people out there, but he had no idea that one person could be that troublesome. Finally, he nodded in agreement.
"Now that we have an understanding, I want you all to head out now. If she was last seen in Eterna Forest, she probably made a break for a nearby city to recuperate. The obvious choice would be Eterna itself, but she's too smart for that. So the lot of you are going to split up and search. And when you find her, you are to drag her back here. Dismissed," Mars finished.
"Yes, Commander Mars!"
The large group left the workout room, leaving Mars and Jupiter alone.
"That went pretty well. You managed to not pound someone this time. This is new," Jupiter chuckled.
"Eh, he was new. Ignorance isn't usually tolerated, but I think that I can afford to be generous for once in my life," Mars stated.
"Indeed you can," Jupiter replied.
At that moment, the door to the workout room opened up again and another set of Grunts walked in. One carried a clipboard with a few documents attached to it. The other two simply followed.
"Commander Mars, Commander Jupiter," they said, pausing to salute.
"Ah, you three. Any news? Perhaps about that little errand Cyrus requested?" Jupiter inquired.
"Not yet. However, we have sent two of our agents in search of Professor Rowan. But it shouldn't take them too long to find him and return with his research," the Grunt finished.
"Excellent. It's crucial that we obtain that information. It shouldn't be too much to ask. I am pleased to hear that it's getting done," Jupiter replied.
"It is an honor to hear that Commander Jupiter," the Grunt replied respecfully.
"You are dismissed," Jupiter stated.
The Grunts gave the two Commanders a salute before turning and exiting the workout room.
"At least one thing is getting done right around here," Mars quipped, turning to sock the bag a few times.
"Indeed," Jupiter began, "and in time, Cyrus will have everything he desires."
"Commander Mars, Jupiter, we've just got word from our agents! They've located the Professor!" Came the voice of a Grunt who had just left a few moments ago.
A devious smile crossed Jupiter's features as she looked at Mars.
"Have the agents tail him for the time being. Make sure he doesn't leave wherever he is without giving us what we want," Jupiter stated.
"What of his assistant?" The Grunt queried.
"If he tries anything, get rid of him," Jupiter grinned.
================================
A/N: It's so hard to find good help these days right? I took a look at how Mars and Jupiter were portrayed in the series and games and the manga and a thought occurred to me; why not make them hand to hand combatants? I got the idea from a line Mars uses in the games. "I should have fought you myself." This implies, to me, that she can fight, so why not?
