Vampires were monsters who drink blood & aren't supposed to be in the sun according to stories you have have been told. What would you say if these were slightly wrong. 

Yes, vampires drink blood. However the average vampire in our era either hunt animals, consensually drink from humans, or use synthetic blood products. They can even walk in the sun without feeling any pain.

Born ones usually are always associated with the non pureblooded vampires, the ones conceived from vampire-human relationships. This isn't an exact science though. Non purebloods can be born human with very few vampiric traits. Some can even be born human with no vampiric traits at all, or they can be born fully as vampires. Those more seemingly born human but have vampiric traits are usually called Halflings.

Do vampires have gifts ? Yes, but not every vampire gets a gift. Sometimes the gift is passed through the family, but it could simply manifest. Vampires however have one exception they hold dear: A Blood bond.
