(v) worry; make anxious.

◇─◇──◇───◇──◇─◇

Y/n let out a yawn as a small tear pricked the side of his eye. He let out a small sigh as he stood in front of the door where the others have went into to attend to their client's needs and wants. He was supposed to be the client's escort when they have finished.

Apparently, the blonde woman, the client, was a businesswoman dealing with drug dealers in the back of her company and was going to ask the ADA to deal with them. Something about that story didn't really add up to Y/n, since he did the paperwork of the ADA and there were no recent reports of drug dealers happening around the area the woman's company was at. However, he shrugged it off, too tired and lazy to care.

Y/n let out a sigh as he leaned on the wall with his arms crossed in front of his chest. He closed his eyes momentary as the listened to the birds chirping on the other side of the window he was near. However, the peaceful moment was ruined by a shiver going down Y/n's spine.

Calmly, Y/n glanced outside of the window and his eyes landed on a dark figure with sunglasses over his face. He stared right at the figure, making eye contact with them. He narrowed his eyes with a glint in them. He had sensed their predatory gaze on him, and the bloodlust that was leaking was anything but hidden.

Reaching over to the window, Y/n simply shut the blinds so that the figure's eyes weren't on him any longer. He didn't feel comfortable with the person's eyes on him. The figure, who was on the other side of the street from the building that Y/n was in, was surprised that Y/n and noticed his gaze. They flinched a bit.

Y/n let out a sigh once more, a feeling in his gut began to turn for the worse it seemed. He glanced at the door next to him and noticed that it opened and out came the others and the blonde woman from before.

"You must be the client," Y/n said catching the woman's attention as he bowed slightly, "I'll be your escort if you allow me."

The woman, flinching a bit at Y/n's attitude towards her, hesitantly nodded, "Yes, that would be nice," She said with a small stutter at the beginning.

Y/n gave a soft smile and let his hair fall in front of his eyes. He walked a little ahead of the client as he guided her to the elevator that was waiting for her dismissal. On the way there, the two walked pass a dazed Dazai, who lazily threw up a peace sign. Must be Kunikida's doing.

Y/n lightly frowned at Dazai's state, "I really hope my co-worker didn't cause you too much trouble, and if he did, please tell me so I can deal with him."

"O-Oh, your co-worker didn't do anything to me. I'm perfectly fine."

"Hm..." Y/n let out as he glanced back at the woman behind him, making her flinch at the sudden attention. He looked at her up and down before nodding to himself, "I'm glad..." He trailed off.

The woman lightly shivered at Y/n's tone of voice, which had lowered when he said his last line. Although, she was confused. What did Y/n mean that he was glad? Oh well, it didn't matter. She shook her head as her gaze went down to the floor, and continued to follow Y/n.

The look of concern and twist lingered in Y/n's eyes as he stared ahead, 'How particular...'

"Listen lad," Kunikida called out to Atsushi, who was getting ready to go out to find the 'drug dealers' with the Tanizaki's, "I have at least a small shred of sympathy for your short, unhappy life."

Atsushi lightly deadpanned but didn't really show it on his face.

"Kunikida," Y/n warned lightly as he was standing next to the blond, arms crossed.

Kunikida cleared his throat as he pushed up his glass, "...I'll give you a tip on surviving in this city," He pulled out a picture of a young man with black clothes and hair with white tips, "Don't run into this person. If you do, flee."

Atsushi's eyes widened slightly, "Who is this...?"

"The mafia!" Dazai said cheerily as he popped out of nowhere and was by Y/n's side in a second, making the other sigh a little, "There is no other name applicable."

"He's one of the Port Mafia's attack dogs, prowling around the harbors," Kunikida explained, "His name's Akutagawa. The mafia itself is a dangerous group; a shadowy organization, shrouded in the underbelly of dark society... But this man? Not even our agency can handle him."

Y/n glanced at the photo of this 'Akutagawa'. The dark figure looked similar to him. His eyes narrowed behind his hair, that icky, twisted feeling of concern and worry turn upside down in his gut once more.

"Why is he... dangerous?" Atsushi asked, hesitantly.

"Because he's a skill user," Kunikida answered with a small bit of distaste, "A skill geared for murder, and his cruelty with it stymies even the military police. I know my own skills... and not even I would dare try to fight him."

Y/n gripped his forearm slightly at Kunikida's words. Dazai had taken notice of Y/n's reaction and raised a brow, it was so unnoticeable that not even Dazai realized he did the small action. Deciding to break out of his thoughts, Y/n stepped up, making the attention go to him.

"For the sake of your safety, sweetie, I've upgraded your phone. Here," Y/n said with a small smile as he tossed Atsushi a brand new phone.

"H-Huh? Oh!" Atsushi let out as he fumbled with the phone a little before fully catching it, noticing the small star charm hanging off of it.

Y/n smiled softly, "Everything is all set up but the password, which means that if you need to call or text anyone from the ADA, they are all in your contacts. Take care of it alright? I don't want you breaking it imminently after getting it, you hear me?"

Atsushi's eyes turn into small stars as he blushed lightly with a smile, "Yes! Thank you very much, Y/n! Huh? Oh, the time!" He scurred to the door where Naomi and Tanizaki were waiting at, "I'll see you soon, bye!"

"Be safe out there, sweetie!" Y/n claimed as he waved Atsushi to which he was returned one before Atsushi left with the other two.

Y/n let out a small breath. He looked back down at the picture of Akutagawa on the desk, observing, and seemingly glaring at it. He looked so familiar, where had Y/n seen him before? Was it recently? He's too tired for this...

"Y/n," Kunikida called out, putting a hand on his shoulder, "Is there something wrong?"

Y/n's fingers brushed over the picture as his hair fell back into place, "I need to get back to my paperwork," He said simply, leaving the room that Kunikida and Dazai were in.

Dazai and Kunikida furrowed their brows lightly, "Are you okay?" Dazai asked, making Y/n pause at the door frame.

"It's just that..." Y/n's hand turned into a fist, "...I've seen him before, but I have no idea where. He's recognizable but I don't remember where I've seen him... Hm, but don't worry about it. We should get back to work anyways." And he left the room, leaving Kunikida and Dazai with a worried look on their faces.

Concern filled the air and Y/n's gut. Y/n could feel his ability tighten around his chest once more, signaling that something was going to happen, and he knew it. However, when and where it's going to happen was a mystery to him, but he was glad that he has someone like Dazai to help with that. After all...

Dazai did put that microphone in the woman's pocket for a reason.
