( MY BLOODY VALENTINE )
APARTMENT BUILDING
[ ☾]
"First date." A guy says.
"I had a really good time tonight, Russell." The Girl says.
"Alice...Can I see you again? Sunday, maybe? I just don't want to be alone on Valentine's day...Again." Russell says.
"I know what you mean." Alice says and Russell leans in and kisses her. They kiss again more passionately and Alice pulls back. "I'm sorry. I just-I-I don't want you to think I'm the type of person who-"
"No, I should apologize-" Russell says.
"Mm!" Alice kisses Russell again. Inside, Alice and Russel are kissing.
"Ugh! Oh, god. I respect the crap out of you right now." Russell says.
"Shut up!" Alice bites Russell.
"Ah! Ugh!" Russell says.
"Your neck! I think I bit you." Alice says.
"It's okay. It's good."
"Ugh! I've been so alone. So empty..." Alive starts.
"I know. Me too."
"I want you, Russel-All of you... inside me..." Alice says.
They both take bites out of each other, Alice chewing on a piece of Russel's flesh. "Yes. Ugh!" Russell says.
"Aah! Ugh!"
ALICE'S APARTMENT
[ ☼ ]
"So...you were the one who found the bodies?" Sam asks.
"There was blood everywhere...and... other stuff...I think Alice was already dead." Alice's roommate says.
"But Russell wasn't?" Sam asks .
"I think he was, mostly, except... he was still sort of...chewing a little."
"Oh. Uh-huh." Says Sam.
"How do two people even do that--Eat each other to death?" She asks.
"That's a really good question." Elena says. "Now, the last few days, did you notice her acting erratically?"
"How do you mean?"
"I mean, did she seem...unusually hostile, aggressive?" Sam asks.
"No way. Alice never drank, never even swore. She was a nice girl. And I'm talking, like, a nice girl-Like she still had her promise ring, if you know what I mean."
"She was a virgin?" Asks Elena.
"No premarital. I used to wonder how she did it. I mean, you know, didn't do it. It was her first date in months. She was so excited."
"Apparently, they were both pretty excited." Sam says.
MOTEL ROOM
[ ☼ ]
Sam and Elena enter with bags of fast food. "How'd it go?" Dean asks them.
"Um...No EMF, no sulfur. Ghost possession and demonic possession are both probably out." Says Sam.
"Hmm. That's where I was puttin' my money." Dean says.
"Nope." Elena says.
Dean rubs his eyes. "Well, then what, then? Oh, dude! At the coroner's-you didn't see these bodies. I mean, these two started eating a- and they just... kept going. I mean, their stomachs were full. Like-like...Thanksgiving-dinner full. Talk about co-dependent." He says.
"Well...I mean, we got our feelers out. Not much more we can do tonight." Sam says. "All right. I'm just gonna go through some files. You can go ahead and get going."
"Sorry?" Dean asks.
"Go ahead. Unleash the kraken. See you tomorrow morning."
"Where am I going?" Asks Dean.
"Dean, it's Valentine's day. Your favorite holiday, remember?" Sam asks. "I mean, what do you always call it-Uh, unattached drifter Christmas?"
"Oh, yeah. Well... be that as it may...I don't know. Guess I'm not feeling it this year." Dean says.
"So you're not into bars full of lonely women?" Sam asks.
"Nah, I guess not." Dean takes a sip of his beer. "Ahh. What?"
"That's when a dog doesn't eat-That's when you know something's really wrong."
"Remarkably patronizing concern duly noted. Nothing's wrong. We gonna work or what?" Dean joins Sam at the table, Sam eyes Dean worriedly.
OFFICE
[ ☾]
Brad looks at some papers. "Ouch! No me gusta. Have you been proofing this thing, Jimbo?" He asks.
"Sorry?" Jim says.
"Tell me you are not checking your cellphone again! Man, she's got you on a leash."
"I'm not on a leash, Brad. She just wants to know where I am." Jim says.
"She just wants to know that you're whipped." Brad says.
"It's not like that."
"Oh, yeah. It's like..." Brad makes a whip-crack sound and gesture.
"Brad, just give me two minutes." Jim says.
"No, man. No. I'm the project leader on this thing, and I'm not gonna half-ass it just 'cause my wingman has gone mental over some chick he met, like, a week ago."
"Jim?" Janice, the girl, enters me place crying.
"Holy crap." Brad says.
"Where were you?" Janice asks.
"I know. It's just I had to-"
"You can't choose work over me, Jim!" Says Janice.
"I won't, Janice. I'm sorry-" Jim says.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Jimbo, due respect, but honestly, bro-" Brad makes whip crack sound. Without looking at him, Janice shoots Brad in the heart. He falls backward in his chair, dead .
"What are we gonna do, Jimmy?" She asks.
"I don't know, baby. Seems like whatever we do, something in life is always gonna keep us apart-Work, family, sleep." Jim says.
"Now prison, maybe..." Janice starts.
"Maybe. But I think I have an idea...How we can stay together...forever..." They bring Janice's gun to her chin and aim in toward her head. A shot rings out, followed by another.
ST. JAMES MEDICAL CENTER
[ ☼ ]
A bald man in a suit passes, Sam hears his heart beating and turns, watching him with an odd expression. Sam sniffs the air. "You okay?" Dean asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Sam says.
"Agent Marley, you just can't stay away." Dr Corman says.
"Heard you tagged another double suicide." Elena says.
"Well, I just finished closing them up."
"Dr. Corman." Dean is gesturing to Sam and Elena. "These are my partners, Special Agent Cliff and Wilde."
"Agent Cliff and Wilde. I've finished my prelims. I pulled the organ sets and sent off the tox Samples."
"Great. You mind if we take a look at the bodies?" Sam asks.
"Not at all. But like I said -their... Good-and-plenties are already tupperwared." The Doc says.
"Super." Says Sam.
"Leave the keys with Marty up front. And please, gentlemen...refrigerate after opening..."
"Hey." Dean hands Sam one of the hearts they're examining. "Be my Valentine?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a second. These hearts both have identical marks." Elena says. "Check this out. It looks like some kind of letter. Oh, no."
"What?" Dean asks.
"I think it's Enochian." Elena says.
"You mean like angel scratches? So you think it's like the tagging on our ribs?"
"Dean, I don't know." Sam says.
"Ah, hell." Dean is on the phone. "Cas, it's Dean. Yeah, room 31-c, basement level...St. James medical center."
Castiel is also on a phone. "I'm there now." He is physically in the room.
"Yeah, I get that." Dean says.
"I'm gonna hang up now." Castiel says.
"Right." Dean says.
Castiel picks up one of the hearts. "You're right, Elena. These are angelic marks. I imagine you'll find similar marks on the other couples' hearts as well-"
"So, what are they? I mean, what do they mean?" Sam asks.
"It's a mark of union. This man and woman were intended to mate." Castiel says.
"Okay, but who put them there?" Dean asks.
"Well, your people call them "Cupid." Says Cas.
"A what?"
"What human myth has mistaken for "Cupid" is actually a lower order of angel. Technically it's a cherub, third-class."
"Cherub?" Dean asks.
"Yeah, they're all over the world. There are dozens of them."
"You mean the little flying fat kid in diapers?" Asks Dean.
"They're not incontinent." Castiel says.
"Okay, anyway. So, what you're saying-" Sam starts.
"What I'm saying is a Cupid has gone rogue and we have to stop him-before he kills again." Castiel says.
"Naturally." Elena says.
"Of course we do." Dean says.
RESTAURANT
[ ☾]
The waitress brings Dean a cheeseburger and Sam a salad. "So, what, you just happen to know he likes the cosmos at this place?" Dean asks Castiel.
"This place is a nexus of human reproduction. It's exactly the kind of-" Castiel watches Dean put ketchup on his cheeseburger. "-of garden the Cupid will come to-to pollinate." Dean puts his cheeseburger back down.
"Wait a minute. You're not hungry?" Sam asks.
"No. What? I'm not hungry." Dean says.
"Then you're not gonna finish that?" Castiel takes Dean's cheeseburger. He looks toward a couple at a table across the room. "He's here."
"Where? I don't see anything." Elena says.
"There."
"You mean the same-side-of-the-booth couple over there?" Dean asks.
"Meet me in the back."
