Laxita's POV

It has been a few months since I started my education here. The last few months have been absolutely delightful. I am acing my subjects and having fun with my friends. Also, I regularly write to my parents and they are very happy with my achievements. And yes, Yash and Vanya are in a relationship now. Vanya also confessed her feelings two days later. All of us had no idea that she liked him. Needless to say we were all surprised. And as far as Nakul and I are concerned, I would say that except holding hands that day, nothing has happened. We haven't even held hands after that. I know right. But I still haven't lost hope. I'm sure he will reciprocate my feelings one day. But right now, there is another problem.

"Can you please take your romance elsewhere? Single people like me are getting uncomfortable over here," Keshavi said.

To be honest, she wasn't wrong. Yash and Vanya have become extremely affectionate with each other and now we have to deal with them. It was a common occurrence now and as it was dinner time, Yash was feeding Vanya by his hand.

"Yes, please go somewhere else, it is not a pleasant sight. Her hands are perfectly fine so you don't have to feed her," Nakul said. He looked irritated.

Vanya started coughing loudly and blushed due to embarrassment. Yash patted her back and gave her water.

"Can all of you please shut your mouths? Are you alright, love?"

Their public displays of affection were definitely making Keshavi uncomfortable and Nakul sick. On the other hand I was looking at them in awe. Honestly, I was kind of jealous of their relationship. I wanted to know how does it feel when someone loves you this much. On the other hand, there was Nakul and me. We have made no progress. He was still that same old cold and aloof man. 

Since the festive season was near, all of us have been given holidays. The classes will begin again after three months. All of us were going home. I had written to my parents stating that I won't be coming home since I plan to study here. There were many students who were actually not going home. But actually, I was going home and I wanted to surprise them.

It was morning and we had our breakfast. I was packing when I heard a knock on my door. I opened the door and saw that Keshavi was standing there with her luggage. 

"Are you all set to leave?" I asked.

"Yes, I am. I just wanted to inform you that I am leaving. Also, I wanted to meet you one more time before leaving."

"Safe travels. See you in three months," I said that and hugged her. After that, she left.

Keshavi was leaving today with the students of Varshapura. The rest of us were going to leave tomorrow. All 4 of us were going together. Yes, a short trip home with Nakul. Vanya and Yash were also going with us but I doubt that they would be paying us any attention. That means no one was going to disturb us. It was a golden opportunity and I was not going to let it slip by.

The next morning arrived and I was already buzzing with excitement. It was going to be so much fun. We had our breakfast and then we went to get our luggage.

"Are you ready?" Vanya asked. She had arrived at my door.

"Yes, I'm coming!"

Both of us headed towards the horse carriage which we had hired. Yash and Nakul loaded our luggage and then we set out for journey. We were actually travelling in a convoy so there were many more people with us in different carriages who were going to Kshatra Gadh.

"The first thing which I'm going to do when I reach home is sleep comfortably. The last few days at the University were really tiring and now this long journey...I seriously just want to take a nap right now," Vanya said.

"I agree. I'm also too tired to do anything. My parents don't know that I am coming home. They would be so surprised when they see me!" I replied enthusiastically.

Although, we enjoy our life at the University there are times when we just miss the peace and comfort of our homes. I bet everyone is missing their families.

We chatted for the entire day and enjoyed the sceneries. The weather was so good and so was the company. We teased each other, laughed and also played in a stream which was near to the point where we had stopped to take rest. Soon, it was nightfall and we had reached Somapura. We decided to stop at an inn in the city. Vanya and I decided to share a room and Nakul and Yash occupied the room across from us. I noticed that Nakul was in a foul mood for the past few days. Today also he didn't participate in our shenanigans. 

The moon was so beautiful tonight. I decided to take a stroll in a nearby garden. I was roaming when I saw a shadow. Upon closer inspection, I came to know that it was Nakul.

I went there and asked him, "Can't sleep?"

"No," he replied.

"Are you alright? I observed that you were not in a good mood..."

"I am alright. You can go back to sleep."

"If there's anything I can help you with you can tell me. You can confide in me if you have any difficulties or problems. I can-"

"Problems? You are asking me about problems?" He scoffed.

"Yes, I am your fiancé and I should know if you-"

"You know what is my problem? YOU. You are my biggest problem. When you can see that I'm not interested in talking to you why do you always bother me. You can stop this act of caring for me. I am so sick of you. I am sick of trying to make this relationship work when I am not even in love with you. So why don't you mind your own business and LEAVE ME ALONE!!!", he shouted.

I flinched and immediately tears welled up in my eyes. I ran away from there, went to my room, locked the door and started crying. Vanya saw me and immediately came running to me.

"What happened?"

I said nothing and just shook my head. She must have understood something because she didn't ask any further and just hugged me.

On the rest of the journey, I avoided him. And thankfully, he didn't try to talk to me either. My presence itself was disturbing to him so I decided to stay away. I knew that he didn't love me but to think that he despised me...I never knew that. I tried to enjoy with Vanya and Yash and honestly I had fun. All 3 of us talked a lot and I came to know about the juicy details of their relationship.

We entered the borders of Kshatra Gadh and my face instantly lit up. The familiar land, familiar climate and familiar people. Oh how much I missed it. Soon we were going to reach Vijay Nagar. The thought of meeting my parents was already making me very happy.

A few days later, we finally reached. The weather was kind of gloomy today and it was raining heavily. Yash unloaded my luggage and kept it at the door. I thanked him and bid them all good bye. As soon as I entered, I saw Reeta ji.

Reeta ji was surprised and she asked me, "Kumari aap yahan? Aap toh aane nahi waali thi na?"

("Miss, you here? You were not going to come right?")

I immediately shushed her and whispered, "Yes, it's a surprise. Mother and father don't know about it. Where are they?"

"They have gone to nearby town for some business. They will return by evening"

Since, they were not at home, I met everyone else at the mansion. All of them were happy to see me. I even asked Mohan ji to prepare something special and sat down to wait for my parents.

I had a bad feeling about today. I was feeling like something very wrong was about to happen today. Maybe it was the weather or maybe I was just overthinking.

I was waiting for them and now it was already evening. Suddenly, I saw a soldier coming into our house followed by Mohan ji.

"Are you the daughter of Yashwant ji and Subhadra ji?" He asked.

"Yes, I am. What's the matter?"

"I have brought you a very bad news."

It was a news which I never wanted to hear...
