Lawlight Headcanon: Sakura

Light never forgot him. How could he? His name was engraved into his pages, his mind, his heart. And it hurts. But humans had a strange habit to crave pain, mistaking it for love. Maybe Light did, too. He wasn't sure. But he took care of him after he was gone, just like he did before. He brought fresh flowers and replaced the old ones with them, made the candle never go out, kept it clean and neat. He told him about his day, about the annoying people, the hard work, and the boredom without him. Just that he never got an answer, not one he wanted. Everyday he waited for him to answer- vainly. He often met an old lady, eyes looking like she'd seen things she would've preferred to not, yet always a warm smile on her face. She brought a bouquet of forget-me-knots with her every time and placed them on the grave next to that Light had once knelt on, screaming out his victory in pure obsession. She must've known who laid there, even though there was no name on it. They never talked much, an occasional 'hello' and 'goodbye', not much more. She sat next to him on the bench, sun slowly setting and letting the graves glow golden. "You lost someone special, too, didn't you?",the woman asked after some time. Light didn't answer, didn't know how to. She smiled, looking up:"He's looking over you from above now" Light lifted his head slightly, looking to the woman and then up to the sky, red and blue fading into purple. Was he? He kept looking up, looking for an answer. "Don't worry. He forgave you, I know it" A sudden warm wind breezed through the air, shaking the trees' leaves slightly. A cherry tree next to them let go of his most beautiful blossoms who flew through the air, around them, those who didn't continue their journey landing in their hair and hands. Sakura. A few tears began to build up in his eyes as he looked at the blossoms go, away from him. He'd miss them, but he wouldn't grieve. He'd kept some of them. No one could take those from him. He'd keep them in his mind, his heart, his soul. He smiled a little, clutching on of the cherry blossoms in his hand. He'd finally gotten an answer. Sakura.
