Lawlight Headcanon/Au: Don't ever do that again
Steady beeping. Calming yet torturing. Alive yet dead. Pale thumbs rubbing circles into the motionless hand he held. Silence was his only companion. He wasn't dead. Not yet. But he could, no, he would be soon. There is only so much time you could wait until it became senseless to. Chances of him surviving getting too low to hope- they were getting too low. Way too low. "Light",he whispered, holding the hand tighter, "Please come back... back to me" But nothing happened. It was as silent as it had been before, the static rhythm not changing once. Slow, very slow beeping. Slow. Not so slow. Not that slow. It was barely audible, but as time stretched it was, in fact, changing. It was becoming faster, he wasn't dead. "Light, can you hear me? Listen, you're doing great, keep fighting" He rolled closer to the teen, hand hovering over the red alarm button, curious to wether his friend would give up or not. His hand was suddenly held harshly back, nails digging into his pale skin. "Ryu... ...yuza... ...Ryuza...",his voice was hoarse and he had trouble forming a noise, but his lips were slowly moving. He was fighting. And he wanted to see who he was fighting for. Feeling his warmth protect him. Golden eyes stared at the bright ceiling light, then at the blurry figure next to him, a small smile on his lips. Pained, Light tried to push his torso up as best as he could, and even if it wasn't much, he felt like he'd just run a marathon. He sighted and let himself fall into Ryuzaki's arms, who held him tightly and close, their hearts were audibly racing, and the teen wrapped his arms even closer around the other one's neck. "Don't ever do that again",the man spoke sternly, then more soft and quietly, only for Light supposed to hear, "Don't ever scare me like that again. Don't even dare. Do you have any idea how worried I was about you? Oh Light, you don't even know how much you mean to me..." Not more than a drained whisper:"I'm sorry" A thin hand stroke his back and held his tired body tighter. Not bothering with the worried nurses that hectically rushed to the bed, he wouldn't let his Light go, not now. Light breathed calmly, ignoring his rapidly beating heart. He was exhausted, but despite that, he would fight. Because he had a reason to. He would fight for Ryuzaki.
