Paws rested lightly on the ground. Their tail swayed back and forth, and back and forth. From their hunter's crouch, the murderer pounced, landing straight on their victim's back.

Robinberry squirmed and rolled to get the attacker off, but it was to no avail. 

A vicious bite to the back of the neck, and the deputy was dead.
