Chapter 7: Just Give Me Some Love

Author's note: I have some free time to post this chapter so yay! I don't usually include things like suicide, killing (there are some exceptions on this one), etc. in my stories but just this once I thought it'd make a good story. In this chapter, someone almost commits suicide, so if you get triggered or feel uncomfortable with this then you can skip it. Kind of a sad chapter in general (and a bit short). So yeah if you don't feel comfortable with sad things like this then just skip it. Enjoy!

Amity Menken was a girl with hunger for love. She never was able to get attention from her Father or Mother. They were always busy and never had time to hang out with her. She sighed as she stared at the wall. That was what she did when she was bored since she was friendless. They moved from place to place until they finally decided to stay in New York since her Dad started up a doll factory. Like she cared anyways.

There was a knock on the door. She secretly hoped it wasn't Al and that it was her Dad. Unfortunately, she had been proven wrong. She deflated a little, but she was used to this by now.

"What is it, Al?" she said in a bored tone.

"Your father wanted to give you an early birthday present. He made this especially for you," Al said, trying to let her know that her Dad cared for her.

"If he cared more, he would hang out with me more. And he couldn't bother bringing it up himself."

"He's just busy at the moment-"

"He's always busy at every moment! He never sat down with me even once for dinner, lunch, or any meal! At least my Mom cared just a little bit just to sit down with me, or come to any of the events that are going on at school! Dad never cared a single bit to come see me! I hate him so leave the doll to him!"

Al softened. She always expressed her emotions either to Al or kept it to herself. Al knew that his boss needed to spend time with his family because Amity was falling to pieces. He then said, "You have a right to be mad at your Dad but at least keep the doll. She needs someone just like you."

Amity sighed. She didn't know what to say, but her eyes were getting teared up and she didn't want to cry in front of Al.

"Alright, I'll keep her. Not because of my Dad though. If you see him, tell him that I hate his guts."

She then closed the door, not waiting for Al's response. Amity started sobbing as she hated her life. Her Dad bragged about having enough money to buy the world, but all she wanted was some attention.

Her tears kept pouring as she recalled every moment of when her Dad was never there. Alana felt sorry so without thinking she said, "Please don't cry. I'm right here."

Amity then looked up and realized that the doll was talking. She would've freaked out but she was just too sad.

"You don't know what it's like to feel like nothing you do is good enough. I do everything to try to make my Dad happy but it never works."

Amity was clearly not happy, so she made plans to try doing something unthinkable.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Alohi was spending time with her family. They were having their weekly family meals. The Solaces made it a point to at least sit down as a family and eat together once a week. Delaney was blabbing about her work and how some dolls got deformed because of an error in the programming.

"Oh yeah, I finally got to see the daughter of my boss," Delaney then brought up.

Alohi perked up from eating her Kalua Pig. She never knew that her big sister's boss had a daughter.

"Really? Is she Alohi's age and does she go to the same school as her?" her Mom asked curiously.

"From what I heard she is about to be 13 like Alohi. Her birthday is coming up on April 30. The poor girl had been traveling with both her parents for quite some time before finally coming to New York. They are extremely busy, so she never has time with her family with the exception of her Mom checking in on her once a month."

"Oh that girl is in need of love. Does she have any friends?"

"None that her Dad knows of, but he brushes it off as typical teenage behavior."

"What's her name?"

"Amity Menken. She seemed sad when I met her. Though I tried interacting, she seemed to not want to talk at all."

Tourmaline got concerned. She launched a full explanation on the impact on mental health, and how at least the dad was just not taking care of her well. Meanwhile, Alohi was deep in thought about how lonely the girl must feel. She finished up her meal and went out on a walk. She brought Lou and Ox along too.

"What's up?" Lou asked.

"That girl, Amity, I feel so sorry that her Dad doesn't spend as much time as her Mom. She reminds me of myself after my Dad died," Alohi said, tearing up a bit.

"Well, we can find her once your school break is done," Ox said, putting one ear and hand on her shoulder.

Alohi wiped them off and said, "Yeah, I want to help her so badly."

Alohi then noticed a girl up on top of a building with really wavy dark brown hair flowing down her shoulders with some red highlights. Her blueish and greenish eyes were clearly holding a lot of sorrow. She had a cream white cardigan decorated with small red hearts over a light pink tank top. The girl was also wearing skinny jeans with seaweed green running shoes. Alohi ran over to see whether the girl was ok.

She realized then what she was going to do, and ran up the building to stop her from doing the hazardous deed. Alohi set down Lou and Ox carefully on the ground, came close enough to the girl, who was about to jump off the 5 feet height, and grabbed her wrist.

"Let go. It's better off this way," the girl said pleadingly.

"No, I can't let anyone suffer like this," Alohi said worriedly.

"I'm suffering already so I will have a peace of mind in Heaven."

"You don't get it! Once you die, the opportunity to do everything you can do is gone! People will mourn and weep at the fact you're dead! Please don't do this! Let me know about your problems and maybe we can fix them," Alohi said, tearing up at the thought of the girl dying.

The girl considered this and said, "Alright, I'll let you in on my problems."

"What's your name?" Alohi asked, wiping off the tears.

"Amity Menken," the girl replied.

"Wait, you're the daughter of the boss of Many Dolls?!"

"Yes, how did you know?"

"My sister, Delaney, works there and mentioned about seeing you. She said that she noticed that you were depressed."

"No one ever hangs out with me. No one my age, my parents, the maids and the caretakers can't bond with me because they're just people who work in my house. What I'm trying to say is that I'm lonely and it's gotten to the point where I have depression. I was brought to the doctor one day when I fainted at PE. He said my mental health was not good. I was diagnosed with depression. I never told my parents about it. They never cared."

To Amity's surprise, the girl who had convinced her to not commit suicide was hugging her. She took off her lavender glasses to wipe off her tears once she broke away from the hug.

"I am so sorry. You deserve to be loved by someone whether it's friends or family. No one should have to suffer alone. My Dad died of brain cancer, and he said that family and feeling love is the most important no matter what. My name is Alohi, and I want to be your friend. I'll bet Lou and Ox do too. Lou and Ox are my dolls over there."

Lou and Ox waved at her and walked over to Alohi's shoulder. Amity waved back and said, "At this point, I'm not surprised since my doll talked too."

Amity showed off Alana to everyone. Though Lou bared his perfectly pearl white teeth at her. Alana just giggled and winked at him (which made Lou even more frustrated). Apparently, she didn't get that Lou was frustrated at her.

"Well I guess we meet again, Louis," Alana flirted, "I'm getting hot and I can clearly see the reason why."

"Yeah, you're getting hot because of your ego," Lou groaned.

Amity giggled as Alana tried flirting some more with Lou. She was failing but deep down inside he was starting to consider her as a friend. For the first time in ages, Amity was finally getting the love and attention she wanted.

"I gotta go. The cook and maids are most likely waiting for me."

"See ya," Alohi said, grinning while pushing her glasses back.

They quickly exchanged phone numbers, and went their separate ways. Alohi came back home to see her Mom and big sister talking to some fancy guys with black sunglasses, black tuxedos, and the white earphone thing that body guards wear.

"What's going on?" Alohi asked.

"These people say that we can send you off to a 15 day cruise to have fun. However, the deal is that me and Delaney can't come." her Mom explained, "Are you interested?"

"Well, I'm uncertain without you guys," Alohi said, playing with the edge of her T-Shirt.

"We will have adult supervision and we will provide your child with the best care possible. She can do anything creatively when we're not at a stop," one of the fancy guys said.

"Will I be able to bring Lou and Ox? And will I have contact with my Mom and Delaney?"

"You can bring your dolls and if it makes you feel more comfortable then we can arrange phone calls back home. All we need to do is make sure that your Mom and big sister sign a contract. The contract ensures that they trust us in your care."

Alohi considered this and said, "Alright, I'll go on the cruise. I think I might have fun."

Then the guys made Alohi's Mom and big sister sign the contract and Alohi packed everything she'd need. She then was led out by the guys. Alohi said goodbye to her family and promised to call. Lou and Ox were both skeptical about this cruise.

"Do you think something's up with this so-called cruise?" Lou asked in a whisper.

"Yes, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks so," Ox replied back in the same volume.

"Let's see what's really going on," they both said at the same time.
