Jeonghan

Her smile.

Her beautiful eyes, those eyes would make anyone fall in love with her.

Those strands of her hair, falling perfectly on her face whenever she is focused on her work.

It’s been days I couldn't stop thinking about her, I tried to distract but nothing worked for me, it felt like it’s just her all around me. And here I don't even know her; this feels like a torture because I am not even sure if I can ever see her again. Wish I had a way to know her, I sighed in realization.

It’s been six days to be exact since I saw her, heard her voice, and witnessed her smile while she was holding Kkuma carefully. I told Seungcheol everything she told me and how Kkuma needs to go and get a checkup. I stopped moving my pen and realized one thing. “oh god”

I checked the date on my desk calendar, and it hit me at once, it’s today. I looked at the time, it wasn't lunch time yet. I called Seungcheol, he picked up after three rings.

“Morning?”
“Do you remember, it's today?”

"What is today?”
"Kkuma's day to get a check-up”

"Hold on," I felt like he was going through his schedule, "yes it's today, I remember but why are you asking?" I can tell he was confused, well... I was confused as well because I don't know what was I doing, asking him if he remembers about Kkuma's appointment? Of course, he does, it's Kkuma, his baby, his daughter. "Well..." I don't have time to think about any excuse right now or he will start joining the dots, "I was wondering when will you take her?"

"You told me, they took your number, so you will be getting notified about it, and you're supposed to tell me. I thought you got the time already that's why I was waiting for your call to let me know about the time so that I can adjust my schedule"

"OH" I realized everything, oh god, "wait, I didn't check, I mean I forgot to check the messages, I am so sorry"

"Jeonghan ah...."

"Stay on the call, I'm checking now." I went through the messages, of last three days, and then I spotted, one message about Kkuma's appointment.

"Well, shit."
"What's wrong?"

"It's in one and a half an hour" I looked at the time
"And when did you receive this message" I could tell he was trying to calm down, "Well, that's also shit, two days ago" I tried smiling, knowing he can come to my office anytime and lecture me.

"I've a meeting in one hour" I smiled, I shouldn't be. "I can't miss this meeting, it's important for my next project, why didn't you tell me Jeonghan..."

"I'm sorry, really. I forgot, should I take Kkuma to make this up to you?"
"Can you?"

"Yea, I've meetings in the second half today" I don't know why would I lie to him about this because I have one meeting in a few minutes and I don't know if I can finish this up in one hour, "Thankyou"

"Well, I made one mistake by not checking the message, so no worries. I'll take Kkuma for a check-up" he started laughing, "so don't feel bad about Kkuma"
"Yes yes, thank you, and have a nice day" well I'm going to have a nice day anyways now, because I will see her today. "You too" and I hung up. I looked at my wristwatch, I can't postpone this meeting so I will do it now. I called up my secretary and told her to hold the meeting now.

I got up and wore my coat, I took my phone and iPad with me and headed towards the meeting room. As soon as I entered the room, everyone started greeting me. I know this meeting is important for me and I need to focus on the presentations but I know it's going to be hard because I will be thinking about her and my mind would randomly start thinking about her.

I took a seat and one by one started taking seats and after five minutes, the meeting started. I was looking at the presentation, and Ms Lina was explaining everything, I was trying to understand a few important things but I was distracted as hell. Why was she so distracting, I know I was going to meet her today but why was she so damn distracting right now, can my heart calm down and can my mind take a little off, of her thoughts? I shook my head, "is there something wrong?" I heard my secretary whisper to me, "nothing's wrong" I whispered back to Ms. Yoon Seri such an irony we share the same surname.

I was checking my wristwatch then and again, I am a patient person but what was wrong with me for the last few days? Why was I behaving like this, like a such a goddamn impatient person who doesn't know how to wait and what is patience?

"That's it, sir."

I snapped my head to look at Lina and she bowed, I nodded at her. "Good job Lina" I got up from my seat, "Please go and continue your work, that's it for today. Thank you for joining this meeting and have a nice day"

I walked out of the door and I could feel Seri following me, I waited for the lift, and Seri stood beside me, "you were so impatient today"
"Glad you noticed Seri" I gave her a half smile, "do you have something to do?" I nodded, "Will see you later" I got inside the lift, and she got in after me, "are you okay, because these days..." before she could complete the sentence "Seri, I know you got me, that I'm distracted but trust me, I'm okay and I've something important to do right now. So, see you later" and got off. I know I half lied because I know I am not totally okay because of her, and she has been living rent-free inside my mind.

I got inside my office, grabbed my car keys, and went out of the office with a smile.

After going to the garage, I got into my car and drove straight to Seungcheol's house knowing he was probably at the house with Kkuma. I was driving in excitement I could feel it myself.

After some time I reached his apartment, I parked my car, and went straight to the building. I was nervous the moment I reached; there was a strange feeling lingering inside me. I didn't know what was wrong. I pressed the bell, and after two seconds approximately, "You're here?" I nodded.

"Well... I'm on time" he was holding Kkuma so cutely. He was already dressed for his office, "I wish, mom and dad were home" I looked at him in disbelief, it's just one week that his parents went to visit his grandparents and he is being so sulky.

"I don't want to leave Kkuma and I can't do everything from home." I patted his shoulder, "I understand Seungcheol and I'm here to help you today" he smiled and that smile looked priceless.

"I'll take Kkuma from here, you go and attend your meeting."
"Mum and dad will come today, probably in a few hours, you can drop Kkuma off once she's done today."

I patted his shoulder "don't worry, about it and if not I'll stay with Kkuma until they come. So let's go."
"Okay then, let's go."
