"Where's Lauren?" I called over the thumping bass in hopes that one of the girls would hear me.
"Lauser?" Dinah yelled back and held Mani by the shoulders to stop her from her grinding, likely so she could focus more.
"Yeah." I nodded and she looked up at the ceiling before shrugging and returning her hands to the shorter girl's hips as the best began to pick up again.
"Right, thanks." I muttered and pushed my way through the dense crowd of people to try to find Ally, thinking she might be more of a help.
She, though, was cuddling with her boyfriend on one of the sofa's and looked on the verge of sleep.
"Hey, have you seen Lauren?" I asked him anyway and he shook his head and gave Ally a gentle kiss on the forehead as she shifted a little. I don't know why either of them even came to this damn party, they're not the kind of people who like getting wasted and sweating whilst dancing far too closely, unlike Norminah who looked like they're both wanting to just make out right there in the middle of the living room and the other sweaty bodies. Straight, my ass.
I sighed and continued my search for the raven-haired stunner, declining some guy who stumbled over to me before he even got to open his mouth.
"Fuck off." I heard her laugh from somewhere close by, so I quickened my pace until I saw her standing down the hallway, leaning against the wall with some guy talking to her.
Oh fan-fucking-tastic.
"Lauren!" I shouted to get her attention even though the hallway was a little quieter, the music a little muffled.
She looked over at me with a small frown before turning back to the guy and it disappeared.
Don't, Y/n. Don't do it...
... I did it.
Grabbing her hand, and I pulled her off of the wall and into a nearby bathroom, locking the door behind us but not before sending the confused man an overly sarcastic smile.
"What thefuck are you dooin?" She slurred. I rolled my eyes and sat her up on the worktop, taking the solo cup from her hand and pouring its contents down the sink.
"Hey! I wus drunking that." She complained and looked like she was trying to scoop it back out of the drain.
"How much have you been drinking?" I questioned and put the cup down with a little more force than necessary.
"Dunno." She shrugged and then randomly started laughing at me.
"Come on, Laur, we're going home." I instructed, trying to get her off of the counter but she wouldn't budge.
"Why the- do you caare?" She burped halfway through her sentence, almost as if censoring herself.
"Lauren..." I sighed and tried again to get her off, but she just slapped my shoulder and grabbed her cup, looking into the bottom and making an upset face when she saw that it was empty. She kept holding it anyway.
I looked over towards the bathroom door as though it'd help me out somehow, and took a deep breath. I hated when she was drunk, when anyone was drunk really. It just makes me really uncomfortable and, well, brings back memories of whenever I went to stay with my aunt. Lets just say they weren't the best memories.
"Please, Laur, you're really drunk." I tried but she just shrugged again, a certain look dancing in her slightly clouded eyes that I really didn't like.
"I'm not, I just tipsyyyy and who gives uh shit?" She snapped, leaning back so her head hit the mirror behind her. I didn't think she cared much anyway.
"I do, baby. Please just come home." I was on the brink of tears now, but she pushed me away and started chuckling to herself again so I scoffed and left the room.
"I'm going home!" I told Ally on the way through the house, sniffling a little. I think she was already asleep anyway, but her boyfriend who she was still laid on nodded and wished me a good night.
"Can you- uh... can you make sure Lauren gets back okay? Please?" I didn't think it was too much of a request seeing as they lived a couple of doors down from me, but I still felt a little cheeky for asking.
"Is she alright?" He asked and then seemed to correct himself, "Are you alright? Do you need a ride?" He offered and I reminded myself to congratulate Ally the next day for picking such a gentleman.
"No, I'm fine. I haven't had a drink. She, however, most definitely has." I explained and he just nodded.
I then went to Norminah but saw them still grinding, but against some boys now, so I decided to leave them be.

The Next Afternoon
"You didn't even think about getting home until three in the morning, Lauren! I left you at the party at 11 pm! You know how worried I was?" I snapped.
"That's no reason to ignore me all day." She quipped and I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath.
"You had your tongue down somebody's throat as soon as I left, Laur. I saw the pictures."
"I was drunk!" She tried, "I had no idea what was going on!"
"Yeah? Well you're a fucking bitch when you're drunk!" I basically yelled at her and she quickly stood from her seat on the sofa, swaying a little from her hangover's dizziness as she snarled at me.
"You think everyone's a bitch when they're drunk!"
"That's because they are, Lauren. My aunt used to emotionally abuse me because she was drunk. My best friend died because someone else was drunk. My ex cheated on me because he was drunk. You basically did the same last night, Laur, and you know what your excuse was? You were FUCKING DRUNK!"
"Oh my god, CRY ME A FUCKING RIVER, Y/N!" She yelled back, her face turning red. I couldn't help it anymore; the tears spilled from my eyes and I sobbed as I rushed into our bedroom, slamming the door behind me and making sure to lock it.
I closed my eyes and tried to take deep breaths to calm myself down but it didn't do much, so I let myself slide down the door and sit on the floor.
A good few minutes passed before a gentle rapping at the door announced her presence.
"Baby, I'm sorry." She said calmly and I shook my head even though she couldn't see me.
She knocked again, "Please let me in, Y/n. I was wrong, I shouldn't have said that, I-"
I interrupted her by opening the door abruptly and just looking at her.
Could I carry on like this? I wasn't so sure. My mouth, however, seemed to have come to a decision before me.
"I think we need to take a break." I announced and closed the door again, ignoring her more urgent knocks and pleads as I headed absent-mindedly into the wardrobe to pack my clothes. The more time passed, the surer I became of my decision. I needed some time and some space to think about what our futures really could look like.
It's not the first time she's done this, after all. I'd let her off the first time because I had convinced myself that I was just broken, that she was going to fix me, and that giving someone a drunken blowjob wasn't that big of a deal. This time, though, was a different story.
I packed my things and silently made my way to the front door. I wasn't exactly sure where I was going, or for how long, but she asked me anyway.
"I don't know." I replied, and her expression was crestfallen.
"I'll wait for you." She nodded as though confirming it for herself, and gave me a hug before I could refuse it. I loved her, I really did, but I needed this time to figure things out. I didn't know where we were going or if that was anywhere at all, so I accepted the hug because it could very well be the last I could receive, and left the house.
Every night after that, I got two texts from her.
Good night, my love.
and
I'll wait for you.
Well, until two weeks had past when she added a third, taking me off guard.
I'll change for you.
