"Dinah, I'm in position." You whisper-yell into your phone as you hide backstage just out of view.

The girls had come off for a break between songs, and it was so tempting to jump out and kiss Lauren right there but you knew you had to wait. The surprise would be even better if you went through with the plan.

"Okay, stay there. Don't let anyone see you." was her response.

"I won't." You were starting to get anxious, "How long before you go back on?"

"Fifth Harmony! You're back on stage in 2 minutes!" A voice called from somewhere in the room.

"Never mind." You added, a small smile now growing on your face. This was going to be fantastic.

"See you later, bish." Dinah said and hung up the phone before the girls came into the room, waiting to be allowed back on stage.

"I just really miss her today. She hasn't called or texted or anything and-" Lauren sniffled, and your brows unconsciously furrow and your lips pout at the sound. Now you were itching to comfort her and give her a hug.

"We know, we know," Normani whispered reassuringly. All of them knew you were here except Lauren, of course.

"Yeah, you've been nonstop talking about how much you miss her all day." Dinah groaned, but her laugh which followed showed that it was partly sarcastic. Had she really been talking about you all day?

"Dinah." Ally warned, and seemed like she was going to say something else but was interrupted by that same voice from earlier counting down from 10. They were going back on, and it was almost your turn to shine. The girls hurried onto stage and got into position.

The relatively simple tune behind 'Down' came on and the crowd starting screaming. Carefully, you crept out of your hiding place behind some unused speakers and stood near the entrance to stage.

Lauren started singing her verse, but you waited. You waited past Dinah's part, past the first chorus, past Normani and Ally's parts; you waited right up until Gucci Mane's verse and then made your way onto the stage. The girls had started their choreography for that part, and you made your way towards them whilst keeping your steps in rhythm with the beat, to make it look like you could simply be another backup dancer or something. The crowd were screaming still, but perhaps a little louder after some spotted and recognized you, and when the girls turned, Lauren got to her feet so fast that she hopped into the air a little, her hands flying to cover her mouth as she completely disregarded the rest of the dance.

You hurried your steps, heard a small 'Oh my god!' Since she had her mic in her hand and her hands by her mouth, and you quickly wrapped her in a tight hug.

"Heya, Baby." You said in her ear so she might hear you over the music.

"Oh my god! Are you really here? Is this real?" She asked, hands shaking as you let go of her. You could see she had tears in her brilliant green eyes, and a broad smile on her lips, and you nodded.

"Y/n Y/l/n, everyone!" Ally exclaimed into her microphone and the fans went crazy again.

"I love you so much." Lauren blurted, pulling you into another hug.

"I love you too, Lo, but you've got a song to sing." You chuckle, and she hesitated before letting go and turning her body to the crowd, keeping her eyes on you.

She sang her next line and it took everything you had in you not to wrap her up in your arms and kiss her repeatedly and tell her just how proud you were of her, but she put her arm around your shoulder as she sang to the fans, ignoring their previously determined choreography, and that was enough.

After the show you were sure there'd be plenty of hugging and kissing to compensate; so you focused your attention on singing along and just being grateful that you, of all people, got to call Lauren you're own.
