Studio (Part II)

"Who's in studio 4B?" You perk up, finally looking up from your chocolate milkshake. You and the band had gone to a diner just down the road and managed to convince your Uncle and Charlie to come with you, Matt stayed behind to keep an eye on the studio and it's guests.

"Hmm?" Uncle Martin hums, grabbing another five fries and shoving them into his mouth.

"4B. Who's in there?"

"Opposite you guys?" He asks, and you nod, ignoring the confused look you receive from Jasper.

"I can't remember." He simply states.

"Why, you gunna fangirl?" Charlie teases. You sarcastically make a laughing face, then turn serious again.

"She's totally got heart eyes for Jauregui." Jasper interrupts, earning a kick in the shin from you, "Ow!" He yelps, reaching down to grab his shin. You didn't even kick him that hard.

"I do not." You insist, but the blush on your face must say otherwise because the others at the table hum, unconvinced. Then you realize Jasper had called the gorgeous girl by what must be her name.

"Jauregui?" You're voice is hushed as you lean across the table as though she might hear you talking about her despite the fact that you're not even in the building.

"Yeah, Lauren Jauregui." Amee perks up, and your eyes shoot to hers.

"You know about her too?"

"She was in Fifth Harmony, y/n. I don't think many people don't know about her." Daniel speaks for her.

How did all of your friends know that she existed and didn't think to tell you? You could have been celebrity-crushing for months!

With a huff, you turn your attention back to your milkshake and take the cherry from the top, deciding to practice tying its stem with your tongue: a skill you haven't yet mastered but insist that you can learn.

...

When you get back to the studio, it seems the girl from Fifth Harmony, who you now had listened to some songs by in the car and figured out you were right when you thought they weren't the type of people you'd usually listen to but would anyway (her solo stuff was a lot more to your taste) was almost finished her recording session. You know this because she si no longer at the microphone and is instead sitting cross-legged on the sofa, doing what looks like doodling in a small notebook.

You head back into your studio room with your bandmates and pulled up a stool. The simple strumming of the guitar got you excited for recording the next song, and soon you are halfway through doing that. Music has a way of teleporting you to another world, and time passes slower yet so quickly when you immerse yourself in even the simplest of melodies. That's one of the reasons you love being in y/band/name, the band which you formed back in your senior year of high school. The

You look up from your guitar for the first time since you entered the room after lunch and see something you hadn't expected. Your breath hitches, thank god you aren't supposed to sing just yet, as your eyes connect with a pair of dazzling emerald ones. You hadn't noticed their color before, hadn't been close enough to do so, but now they are all you could see. Well, them and the small smirk she wears.

You don't know when she had come into the producing room, or how long she had been looking at you like that, but your verse is next so you tear your eyes from her and try to focus on the song.

She stays for the rest of the session.

...

"Hey." She says calmly once your band mates have left the room and you're left to pack up like you'd offered.

"Um, hi." You mumble, but with a broad smile. She sticks her hand out to you and you gladly shake it.

"Lauren." She introduces herself, "And you must be Y/n."

"Yeah, how did you-" You begin but she cuts you off.

"Your friends said it when they were leaving." She grins, and finally lets go of your hand. Not that you were complaining that she had been holding it this whole time.

"Oh, right." You nod. God, why am I so awkward?

"You're great at playing that." She points to the guitar strung over your shoulder. Only now do Matt and Charlie decide to leave, Charlie patting you on the shoulder a few times as a goodbye. You nod to them and then it's just you and Lauren.

"Thank you."

"You have a fantastic voice as well."

"Thanks." A blush creeps onto your cheeks... again, "You do too."

"Thank you. That means a lot." She almost mumbles, a hint of pink on her cheeks too. She looks down at the floor and starts fiddling with her hands.

"Um... I'm sorry for... staring at you earlier." Rubbing the back of your neck, her eyes snap back onto yours and the smirk returns.

She's so fricken hot.

"You can stare as much as you want if you let me take you out." She replies.

Oh my god. Oh. My. God! What? Is Lauren freaking Jauregui actually asking me out? Me?

"Like, on a date?"

"Yeah." She nods, then her eyes widen a little, "I mean... if that's okay with you? I'm not trying to force you or anything I just, well, your really pretty and when I heard you sing I just, ugh, and I-"

"I would love to go on a date with you." You interrupt her.

"Wh-what?"

"Yeah, if it means you'll stop rambling and start smirking again." You half-joke. She smirks, and you smile. Then she bursts into laughter and it's contagious.

"Um, here." You begin once you've recovered from the small laughing fit and successfully stared at one another for at least a minute, "If you give me your phone number I'll text or call you with mine and we can arrange something. I'd really like to get to know you."

"Tankyou." She says cutely and you hand her your phone to put her number in. When you take it back you see a wink emoji next to her name, and when you look up she winks in person, and you're pretty sure that this won't be just the one date.
