Devilish Grin
Y/n's POV
How excited was I to be seeing Lauren live? Very. Extremely. Maybe even a little too excited, if that's even possible. Lauren Jauregui, incredible singer and total badass, would be standing a matter of meters in front of me, finally. Perhaps, though, if I knew what I'd find out that night, I wouldn't have gone at all.
But then there she was, on stage before me in that sinful leather on leather combo. The black of her hair and clothes contrasted against her pale skin, making it seem even whiter than usual, as she scanned the crowd with those piercing eyes of hers, for lack of a better word.
If someone told me I had died and gone to heaven, I'd believe them, as I listened to Lauren sing and joined in with the parts she wanted the audience to sing.
As she came over to the side of the stage I was on, our eyes connected for a few seconds and I felt as though I was about to pass out from ecstasy.
"'Cause you're the one I need, tonight..." she sang, and it felt as though it was to me as both of us refused to look away for a moment.
Finally, she did, only to confuse me when instead of taking a dance break as she usually does during this part of the song, she jogged over to a top-heavy security guard, whispering something in his ear while pointing to me.
Dread instantly filled me. Had I done something wrong? Was she having me kicked out? What was going on?
When nobody came to drag me away for a while, I managed to calm myself down a little, even as Lauren continued to glance at me throughout the show.
...
"Come with me, ma'am." A deep voice growled in my ear as the show was about to end, making me flinch.
Still, I obeyed the same man as she had whispered to and followed him away from the stage, sending one last glance over my shoulder at my idol before resigning to the fact that for whatever reason, I was not allowed to stay.
Oh, how wrong I had been.
"W-what's going on?" I stuttered slightly as I was lead down a hidden hallway at the side of the stage rather than out of the venue.
"Miss Jauregui has requested to see you backstage." The man simply gruffed in reply, making my eyes widen. This had to be every girl out there's dream, I thought as I heard a plethora of teenagers' screams coming from behind me.
"Oh." I simply muttered as he led me down another hallway and into a small room with a few pieces of equipment stored in it. He left without another word, and I swore I heard the door lock behind him.
"Okay, that's a little weird," I mumbled as I tried the door to find that it was in fact locked. Still, I figured I could just sit on this box of something or other and watch the performance on the small screen in the corner of the room.
She held so much power when she was on stage and could control thousands of people with just a flick of her hand. To prove this, at the end of the show she had everyone screaming for her, then lowered her hand and they all shut up. With a small laugh, she raised her hand once more and everyone continued cheering. She carried on like this for a minute or so, making me laugh too before she thanked the crowd and ran off stage.
Time to prepare myself for meeting someone I'd essentially been obsessed with for years, privately, and to try not to pass out.
...
I didn't even hear the door open before I felt a coldness on my shoulder, and I leapt around to see Lauren standing there, an innocent smile on her face.
"Oh my god." I breathed out both at having been spooked and being this close to Lauren. I didn't notice what was out of the ordinary yet.
"Hi." She greeted me, her smile faltering as she glanced down at my neck. A tad odd, perhaps, but I didn't pay much attention.
"Hi, hey-" I stammered, standing there awkwardly.
"Are you here with anyone else?" She asked, making me frown slightly but maybe she just wanted to invite my friends back here too, if I had brought any.
I shook my head, my breathing regularly getting more erratic with each step towards me she took.
"Good." She growled, and I instantly began to panic when her cold hand wrapped around my neck, forcing my head to tilt back and lifting me to my toes.
"W-what are you... doing?" I choked out, straining to look down at her as she smiled devilishly at the exposed skin of my neck. I felt a paralysing gear run through me as what looked like fangs began to protrude between her lips, her eyes pooling with a deep, inky black.
I tried to call out for help as she took in a deep sniff right near my throat, but the only thing that escaped my lips was an ear-splitting scream as she bit down on my pulse point, surely piercing the skin.
The scream was the longest and loudest I'd ever mustered, but it faded away along with any remaining ounce of strength in my body as she lowered me onto the ground, crouching above me, never taking her teeth from my neck.
The world began to swim, then fade, as I lost myself to the fire spreading through my veins and the feeling of hot liquid leaking from around her lips where she couldn't catch it. I began to spasm violently before I fell unconscious.
...
I don't wake up for what must've been a good few hours, and when I do I am stuffed behind some of the boxes in the room, discarded like trash. The memory of what happened just before I passed out invades my mind and I get a pounding headache, making me wince.
I cease any noise-making when I hear a voice in the room. It's Lauren, and someone else.
"Do I look like I give a shit?" She growls rather quietly, though I still pick up on every word.
"Well, you should." A man argues, "It's not right to pick off teenagers like this, especially people who adore you."
"What would you rather me do? Go raid funeral homes?" She retorts, "Supply and demand, my friend; I have the demand and they are the supply. Besides, I stick to one a night."
"Shit." I mentally hiss when my foot slips, causing a light smacking sound.
The conversation stops abruptly and I hear footsteps coming towards me. What am I supposed to do? Play dead?
It's too late to make a decision, though, when Lauren pulls one of the boxes away and I fall out, sprawled across the floor.
"Impossible." She mutters, glancing at the confused man behind her, that security guard who brought me here.
I should be terrified of her. I should be running for that open door and never looking back. However, my attention is solely taken up by the man in the room. I can hear his heart beating from here, his blood pulsing through his veins. I... why does it sound so appetising?
I slowly stand, my hands in fists by my sides, and thankfully Lauren catches me before I can dash over there and... do whatever I was planning to do.
As I force myself to look at Lauren, I frown deeply.
"What's happening? What did you do to me?" I question weakly, and she closes her eyes and sighs.
"I'm a vampire." She answers, and oddly the concept doesn't sound so alien, "And... now you are too."
