Chapter 30
THE 30TH CHAPTER IS HERE! And for this special occasion, I will make it about 1,500-2,000 words. Enjoy~
After we finished breakfast I went to my room to my things together. I packed the normal stuff a person would when they leave for a while. I also put on my cloak but kept the hood down.
After I was done packing I knew Aphmau would be at the docks with poor sick Kiki. Kiki has been ill for a while now. I know it has something to do with Zane but I can't go around making false accusations so I don't say anything about it.
I ran upstairs and slung my bag over my shoulder.
"Are you going to walk with me to the docks or no?" I asked Laurance.
"Yeah I'll walk with you." He replied.
We left the house, the door shutting behind us. Laurance laced his hand with mine. We walked in silence the whole time.
When we arrived I kissed Laurance and started to leave for the boat.
"I love you. Don't get hurt, okay?" He said to me.
"I love you too but maybe I should say the same to you." I said with a cheeky grin. He smiled back. I turned back around and jogged over to Aphmau.
"Where's Kiki?" I asked her.
Aphmau held up a golden lasso. Those things always creeped me out. I've only seen them a few times but you can carry a person in one of those. Like if you're sleeping someone can just take you! I've always wondered how people can fit in those.
I shook the thought away and flashed Aphmau a smile. I walked over to her boat and got on. She soon followed and started to drive away.(do you drive a boat? Oh well. You do now)
I waved to Laurance as we left the dock.
Time skip to when you arrived at Bright Port
"Does Bright Port have another statue?" Aphmau wondered out loud. I shrugged.
We walked up the cracked stone stairs and were soon met by a woman with short blonde hair. She was dressed in a green outfit.
"Hello, Aphmau!" She said in a cheerful voice. "Who is this you have with you?"
"Oh. This is Y/n! Y/n, this is Ezera(I think that's how you spell it)."
"Nice to meet you, Y/n." She said.
"Same to you." I said in a formal voice. It's always good to leave a good first impression.
"Aphmau, sorry to inform you, but your 'home away from home' has been moved due to O'khasis guards staying here." Ezera said to Aphmau.
My heart started to race. These people might recognize me. I pulled my hood up to cover my face.
"O-okay." Aphmau stuttered. I knew she was nervous too.
Ezera led us to her 'home away from home'. It had a tower coming up from the side, looking over the ocean.
As we walked I noticed there were O'khasis guards everywhere. They paid little attention to us. They hadn't even noticed Aphmau yet.
We walked inside of the house and looked around. It was fairly simple.
"Oh and we have a curfew now. You can't really leave this house..... Have a good time!" Ezera said and closed the door behind her. My mouth hung open.
"What?!" Aphmau yelled. This attracted the attention of the guards nearby. They walked into our house.
"Ma'am, please don't yell. We might have to do something about it." The first guard said.
"Who do you think you're talking to?" Aphmau snapped. "I'm the lord of Phoenix Drop! You can't just keep a Lord cooped up in a house!"
"Lord Aphmau?" Another guard said. Aphmau nodded as if she had just won. She was dead wrong.
"Well this just made my job much easier!" The first guard shouted. "Zane needs you. I guess your friend here can come with you too."
"What?! No! I have a sick friend with me!" Aphmau let Kiki out of the golden lasso. Kiki stumbled but found a chair to sit on.
"Fine. As soon as you come out, you're coming with us." He replied with a devilish grin. They all left, leaving the three of us to our thoughts.
"Damnit." I said. Aphmau gave me a look that said 'dude-don't-cuss'. I rolled my eyes.
"What are we gonna do? We have to come out for food at some point!" Aphmau cried.
"We could dig under." I suggested with a shrug.
"Good idea!" Aphmau started to dig but was met right away with bedrock. "UHG!"
"Lower your voice. They might come back." I told her. "How much food do you have on you?"
She reached into her back and pulled out 10 cooked chicken. I reached into my back and pulled out some f/f and some cooked steak. I also managed to scrounge up a couple bottles of water from around the house.
We set the food and water on the table. "Aph you got any more water?" I asked. She pulled out a full water bottle.
"We have enough to last about a week. Kiki will need a lot of water so that leaves little for us." I told her.
"I have a bucket on me too if that helps." She replied. What could we do with a bucket?
"If we had a fishing pole that might be useful." I told her. She set the bucket down and plopped on the couch. I handed Kiki a water bottle and sat down next to Aphmau. We both sighed.
"Sorry for saying I was a lord." Aphmau said.
"It's not your fault. Wrong place, wrong time." I replied.
We sat in silence for a while.
Time skip to a few days later
"Y/n we need more water." Aphmau complained. I have been giving my water to Aphmau so I was really dehydrated. Kiki was just getting worse, and Aphmau couldn't stop complaining.
"Stop whining." I croaked. "You're lucky. I haven't had anything to drink since the day we got here!"
"That's why we should just give in to the guards." Aphmau replied sorrowfully.
"I'd rather die here than in their clutches. For all we know they could torture us, make us give them information about the Phoenix Alliance." I told her bitterly. She stopped talking at that.
I wanted to get up and walk around but I didn't have enough strength to do even that. I sighed. But then I heard something. Something breaking.
"Aph do you hear that?" I tried to speak loud but only a whisper came out.
"Sounds lik-" she was cut off by the flooring breaking. I saw deep red hair pop up. "Nicole?!" Aphmau whisper shouted.
"What the heck? Why is there three layers of bedrock under my old house? Why are you guys here?" She questioned.
"It's a long story. We need to get out of here, though." Aphmau told her.
"Agreed" I whispered.
Aphmau put Kiki in the golden lasso and went down the hole Nicole just made. I stumbled behind. Nicole was the last out and she placed the bedrock back.
We went down the ladder and landed in a damp underground cave. Water dripped from the ceiling, making the sound echo throughout the cave system.
We arrived at a small camp. A couple of beds were set up near some shelves containing food and potions. A small white fox laid on a plush bed, sound asleep.
I could not continue standing so I sat down, leaning against a wall.
"Nicole, do you think you can spare some food and water? Y/n is completely dehydrated." Aphmau said.
"Of course." Nicole replied as she walked over to the shelves, grabbing some supplies. She came back over to me and handed me some water. I drank it like I haven't had anything to drink in days. Oh wait. I hadn't.
The other two continued their conversation. Aphmau telling Nicole what happened, and Nicole listening intently.
I scooted over to the fox and petted her head gently. She lifted her head up, looking at me with a soft expression. It made me smile. She stood up and stretched. She made he way closer to me and curled up on my lap. She soon fell asleep.
"Y/n. We are going to need to disguise ourselves." Aphmau told me wearily. I nodded. I knew what had to be done to get out of here alive.
"Alright. What do we have to do?" I asked.
"Dye your hair and change your outfits. Is not much but it'll work. I've done it before." Nicole answered.
"Okay. Let's do this then." I said, picking up the fox and moving to a chair with her.
Time skip~~~~~~~
"All done!" Nicole cheered. She handed us each a small mirror.
She dyed Aphmau's hair blackish purple. Mine was f/c.
Aph had some sort of Egyptian outfit on. It was purple and gold. I had on a long frilly dress. It was ombré from white at the top to black at the bottom. It had a black hood to go with it.
"Am I going to be able to run in this?" I asked her. She shrugged.
"Maybe. Depends." She said. I sighed and started to pet Roxy again. Nicole told me her name was Roxy while she was dying my hair.
"Okay. I think we are ready to go. Oh wait. Here!" She tossed us each a bag with some clothes in it. "In case you need something warmer after we get out of here."
"Thanks." I said. Aphmau nodded in agreement.
Before we left I also grabbed some food for later.
Roxy jumped out of my arms and led us through narrow tunnels. Well. Here we go.
I did it! And thanks you guys for all the support and stuff!!! Also it's stormy out right now and it's so nice. Also I got sunburnt really bad a few days ago and I hurt.
